I had so much funnnn!!!! The ending is really rewarding, getting a bunch of raccoons at the same time.
The level is complex but I never got lost, really good level design!
The only thing I would change is the checkpoint sound, it gets annoying after a while, but this is minor.
Your game is great! 5/5
Thank you so much for playing to the end!!!
Also, I agree about the checkpoint sound, it should probably only play when you get a new trashcan
Since you left such a kind review, I'll give you a bit of hidden lore--Filo is named after the acronym FILO (First In Last Out) for stacks hahaha
Genuinely in awe of how ambitious this is. I really like the concept and how open-ended the puzzles were, I'm pretty sure I did some sequence breaking accidentally. It makes me wonder what the minimum number of raccoons you could beat this with is... I already really liked your project from last year, I'm happy to see you all trying new things - small amounts of jank aside, again this is insane for 96 hours.
I don't know if there was a confirmed number by the dev team on what the minimum number was lol. We made a design decision that the two branched islands would be completable in any order as we felt that part of the joy of the game was being able to just have the freedom that came with a large stack, and we also didn't want to force linearity or 100% raccoon finding so sequence breaking is definitely allowed haha. Thanks so much for your comment!
The game was amazing!! The best one I have played so far. The raccoons were cute and the art the same. Loved the stacking mechanism and the stage exploration. The music was very nice, and the controls were very good. Truly the best game I have played so far in the game jam!! Amazing work and looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!!
great game! very cute, extremely fleshed out for this style of game jam.
if the controls were tightened up a bit, i could definitely see this being the beginning of a full steam game (that has a lot of mini open worlds where you start at 1 raccoon again for each world, and have to search and collect everything).
Always more racoonssss !! Liked it a lot !
I'm stuck XD, btw the game is so cute, and I liked it!
This is my personal fave game of this jam.
Such a cute game, with a really great implementation of the theme and excellent game feel.
Awesome entry. Very polished and well banaced!! Awesome visual style! We really enjoy playing it!
I’ve completed the game and found all the little raccoons. The game is very enjoyable, and the gameplay and difficulty are very well balanced. The design of sandbox world is excellently crafted !
THIS GAMES AWESOME I LOVE RACCOOONS!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOUUUUU!!! LOVE YOUR GAME AS WELL!
Love the gameplay mechanic with trash cans and how stacking creates a natural progression. The staccoons are soooooo cute!!! Super well polished compared to most of the other games I've seen this jam.
Only thing i would say is that the raccoons occasionally have some clipping issues and the camera control is a bit sensitive. Would like to see more development with the exclamation marks and the fun finds in there!
Yooo this is lovely. The lovely low poly raccoon design is so cute! A good passing time game that reminded me of the tower building thing (I forgot the one) in older mobile game. But I feel like the control as a bit too sensitive on my mouse. Also love what you do with the storytelling. Good job on this game!
Super cute! I could see this being a steam game. Great work!
Really fun and well-polished! made it to the end! Nice work.
Thanks so much for playing to the end!! Any ideas for what you'd like to see in an update? 👀
Nothing comes to mind.
I enjoyed the core mechanic and like how it ties into the theme. Art style is very cute. Some of the sky scrapers got in the way of the camera for some jumps though.
Glad you like it! We were torn on enabling camera collision (popping the camera in front of objects obscuring the player) as it can be jarring--do you think we should've had it?
I think a better solution would be add an X Ray shader that lets the camera clip through the walls but still show the player through the buildings(something like this ).
That's actually the perfect solution, thank you so much!
I like your take on the theme! Unlocking multiple jumps also unlocks different areas of the map. Great game design! :D
Thank youuuu!! Shoutout to Joe (jarch2) for planning out our map as well as the main progression of the game!!
Such a fun and clever core mechanic! Felt like an old-school 3D platformer with a twist. Would love to see this expanded into a full game! Also great job on the intro voice acting, you did great. xD
Thanks so much! Follow my itch to see potential Staccoons updates 👀 and definitely let us know if there's anything you'd like to see added!
Also, shoutout to Aidan (Aidanpkln) for the voice acting--our favorite actor-artist-game developer!!!
Super fun game!
I'm determined to collect enough to completely block one of the cars!
OH MY GOSH I never knew this was possible I love this!!!!
Great game and concept! As others mentioned I had some issues with the camera at times, but honestly that was pretty minimal because everything else stood out so much :)
Pretty impressive to be able to put this whole thing together in just a few days, awesome job!
Thank you!
I'm honestly also shocked that it came together like this--all I'll say is that there wasn't a lot of sleep involved hahahaha
Loved the style and the concept! The camera movement was too sensitive in my computer and that got me a little bit dizzy, loved the concept!
Thanks so much! The hypersensitivity might be a browser-specific issue, we recommend trying the game on Edge or Chrome with "Use graphics acceleration when available" on--see our game page for more details
