I really liked the idea of creating the game with drawings and the experience of trying to get to that special place was super interesting.
That's a really funny idea !
The art is gorgeous and the music fit the whole ambiance neatly.
The Gameplay is a bit simple but engaging.
Great work :)
I made it! Great take of the theme, I felt the risk by taking the One-Arm Pump which is quite nice.
Moreover, I really liked the paper art style!
Overall good work!
Nice and simple short game! I love the art style choice and music, really fits in together nicely. Overall, a good game <3
The art and concept were really great! The music is cool and I was really impressed by the overall game. Outstanding work!
P.S. How did you make the paper style/effect?
Ha, glad you liked it!
That's a good question! @cumbertiger draw all the art on paper with markers then it was photographed and processed digitally to remove the background. For animation I put together some processed images and added variety, it sped up the process because we didn't have to draw every animated part frame-by-frame this way
Ah, I see... A very cool effect!
Absolutely love the Vibe of the game. The music fits really and the game gives me flash game vibes I played when i was younger. Can recommend.
What a strange game. Love the art/music combo and the concept, would love to see more decision-making points or ways to mitigate the costs.
The art and sound here are astounding, super chill relaxed game with a cool take on the theme, really enjoyed it!
This is the first time I see a hand drawn game in this years GMTK Game Jam! And music is original too! It is easy to see how much effort you have put in your entry
The game is very atmospheric, almost relaxing in a way. It would be great to see a full game made out of this, maybe with some story and more game mechanics
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fun fact: all the art was hand draw on paper by @cumbertiger, then photographed and processed digitally to remove background :)
Like the art style. The sfx and feel of rolling new prices was good!
Could be neat if the standard pump had a different value each stop, and if I was forced to use the rolling pump if I pulled the crank.
Nice chill game. very topical. lol
Thanks, glad you liked how it felt, that was basically the main thing we focused on. We had quite a lot of ideas on how to add variety to the gameplay but by the time we finished the basic loop the submission was due. We plan to release a post-jam update with more vairety!
Really chill and relaxing music and nice art. Gameplay is a bit simple but its a nice concept and well executed. Good job.
$0.22 for gas?! 5/5 game.
It is a very nice trip with an astonishing graphic
0.52$ gas wish that could happen irl! Jokes aside I liked the art and concept! Good job
Love how the game doesn't need any fancy graphics; just the feel of hand-drawn art was enough and the comic way of the idea behind the petrol prices was so funny!
That's quite a ride, and the guitar playing in the background only makes it better. I'm in love with the art style :D It is so refreshing to see games like this. Luckily for me the luck gods guided me to be able to finish the game, and that ending view is indeed amazing. Beautifully done, Great job!
A fun and humorous gambling game. My lowest price was $1.32/gal, my highest was $9.88/gal. I played it right and got to my destination on the first try. With luck like that I'd play the machine in real life if I were given the chance. Love love love the hand drawn art style. It's a difficult thing to capture, but it's really nice here. The guitar adds to the relaxed mood. Great work.
Fantastic art! Gameplay is straightforward and fun for a couple of playthroughs - good length for a jam game.
Art is lovely and game is chilling!!
