Overall pretty fun and creative! Only complaint is it can sometimes be difficult to place the dice where you want it which can end up being frustrating.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

Fun game! I really enjoyed how when you moved the dice it rolled them. Made it a bit chaotic, but also super fun. Great work!!

Developer

Chaos was (part of) the goal! Thanks for playing!

As not a huge tower defense fan generally, I think this was really enjoyable due to multiple clever mechanics going on.

The fact that you could move the pieces around fits the theme well and adds a lot more strategy than you'd normally have in a TD game. And because moving them also "rolled" them, you were able to see all the different types of attacks really rapidly.

At first I thought the throwing was a bit annoying in that it was hard to place, but once I got a hang of it, and realized that you could make some really satisfying bank shots (especially nice when you got it to bounce between the top wall and enemies in the top row). And the fact that you could bounce it off other dice made it even more interesting.

I do wish I could have gotten coins a bit more easily, as I would have loved to get to that point where the screen is just going crazy with attacks and the enemies are melting, but balance like that can be really tricky in jam games.

Art and audio was also really crisp. Great job!

Thanks for playing and the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! Balance was something we were definitely tweaking a lot up until the last minute. Some coin-sucking gravity for the player would be a good addition to help with grabbing them. With a little practice you can definitely get to that screen-filled state, though we didn't have the time to implement the waves getting absolutely insane.

Im kinda amazed at how fun this was to play, i really like td games and i loved how you used the dice theme, all the actions and movement feel smooth and well thought out and its really easy to get into. 10/10, hope more people can find this game

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

We really appreciate the praise, thank you for playing and commenting!

That was pretty great, love pretty much every part of it, I'm definitely a sucker for tower defense games. Only think I would say it getting the dice to be where you want them is tough, and the difficulty curve is high. I had a fun time playing this!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing! With a bit more practice the game gets easier :P Would have loved to be able to implement difficulty levels, but that's a jam game for you

Love throwing the dice at enemies instead of just placing a tower. Nice work!

Thanks for playing!

Cool concept for a game and well designed. For me enemies dealing damage to your mouse was just frustrating, and I think the controls could have used some polishing up. Besides that, its a great game!

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

Nice!

Controls need a tunning, but the dice animations, SFX, gameplay everything feels really satisfaying

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

It feels great just smacking enemies by throwing the die towers. It's a bit tricky to play, but very enjoyable.

Tower Defense games that have combined player movement with tower placement have been done before. But I can't recall a game that lets you throw the towers into the enemies.
Combined with the random tower dice mechanic after each time you throw it gives this game quite unique gameplay.

There is some slight critique:
An annoyance I had was that you can't control the distance in which you throw the dice, which makes it quite tricky to place them.
And whenever I failed to get enough money to buy new dice at the beginning, then I couldn't get enough money to buy new dice which was pretty much game over for me (the -2$ penalty whenever you touch enemies made it really hard for me).

However, that's a tower defense game made in 48 hours, of course, there are going to be balancing issues ;)
But all of these are forgivable because the game is pretty solid and I had overall fun playing it. The idea was clear and executed well in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if this game gets into the top 100. Well done!

Thanks for the great feedback! The difficulty tuning was something we were tweaking the whole time, and yeah it could still use some more balancing. We didn't want to make the dice TOO perfectly controllable, otherwise it wouldn't be quite as random haha. But one trick is to bounce it off a wall in the opposite direction ;)

Developer

When balancing the difficulty we have to keep in mind our mechanic of manually collecting coins for new towers and the way that coins will naturally spawn on the path that enemies are coming from. If I had any defense for the route we went, I'd say that it's a fair punishment since you can throw a die to stun an enemy so that they don't run into you as you collect a few coins on the path. Thank you so much for your detailed feedback!

Really interesting spin on the tower defense. Regarding what I did not like: controlling the cursor with the keyboard definitely did not feel good. Maybe it's just that it looks like a cursor and I want to control that with mouse. Early on the enemies feel too hard since you only have two turrets and they barely kill a wave of flies.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We started you off with few dice so you'd be force to use the throwing mechanic!

Really Fun and Enjoyable game! It has a very fun, and interesting game loop that really makes you addicted to see how long you can last... The randomness of the items in line with the force of your throw may make it difficult to strategically place your dice, I suggest that you either lessen the force of the throw or make it so that you drop the dice and it falls to roll instead which would make it much easier and fair to deal with the hordes of enemies in the later difficulty levels... Still it's a fun game tho! One of the most unique tower defense games I've played in a while

Developer

Thank you for playing, we hear a lot about the strong throw and can see the frustration. We tried to add the wall bouncing mechanic as a way to lessen how far it goes and add strategy regarding the wall and enemy placement. We appreciate the feedback and praise!

This was really fun! Applying both throwing mechanics and randomness to a tower defense game made strategizing a blast. The enemies could maybe use a bit of rebalancing health-wise, but I still found it a fun challenge. Well done!

Developer (2 edits)

Thanks for playing! Balancing was happening up until the last second; difficulty levels would have been great if we had time. Did you find it too hard or too easy?

Submitted

It was a bit too difficult, more so with the larger enemy hordes before I got more dice. Maybe making the hordes slower at the beginning would help fix it.

Neat game, very fluid mechanics!

awesome, the dice rolling mechanic as towers is exactly what we were trying to go for too!

Submitted(+2)

this game is a lot of fun! Super busy too, lol. Great job!

Loved it ! The idea really surprised and I played it for a long time !

It may lack of different enemies (stronger or quicker) for the end game but it's already really good !

Developer(+1)

We tried to cover different speeds and health pools but it's costly as the artist to put time into making one monster after the next. Glad that you enjoyed it as much as we did!

A very fun game. I liked the tower variety available with the dice, and it felt satisfying to use them strategically to stun the enemies.

The audio was also quite satisfying to play along with.

Thanks for sharing!
