Loved the GBC feel! One of the best recreations of Game Boy style I've seen in a jam. It felt very much like the real thing! The art was nice, the intro was funny!
I liked that you could play around with palettes too.
The minigames were fun and reminded me of some I used to play as a kid. The first one specifically reminded me of this one from a Yū Yū Hakusho Game Boy game.
Speaking of the first one, I loved the visual aids of how heavy the box got! And that you were rewarded with more points the more gears you dropped at once! Every minigame had great visual aids now that I think about it.
Very well done!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad I managed to convey the game boy aesthetic well enough for you to be reminded of a childhood game. Big fan of the game boy myself.
Adorable art, great usage of the theme and had fun with the controls. I'm jealous, this is really good!
Only concern I have is that I couldn't play on firefox, but starting to wonder whether that's on my side.
Thank you for you kind words! In regards to Firefox, it seems like games made on Godot 4.0 aren't playable on non-chromium browsers. Hopefully Firefox gets a patch which supports those games.
The art in this is great! I really love the use of color and the intro was really nice! I was only able to play part of the first mini-game due to my keyboard not having traditional arrow keys and no way to rebind but I really enjoyed the bit I was able to play!
Oh, how I love a good minigame collection. The intro scene was super charming, and the aesthetic is so much fun. The fact that you can change and even unlock palettes was such a nice touch and really swept me right back to when I first got a Gameboy Color (and the bubblegum one swept me even further back to old CGA games on my parents' first computer). The minigames themselves were really fun and easy to grasp once you got into them. I was best at the first one, but enjoyed the third one the most. I followed the instructions but still got the crash at the end, but was happy to replay because it was such an enjoyable game, and it gave me a chance to check out hard mode. Great work!
The art is impressive, congrats! The game is fun, but sadly it keeps bugging in the third minigame :/ The first two are pretty cool, though.
Hello, can you please describe what issues were you having? The instructions weren't all that clear but to make progress on the third minigame, your first need to press Z to stop the bar and then hold up to charge your swing.
Hello. I went to take a print and then I realized that I'm stupid! I though it was to hold Z up, but it was to hold UP up! D:
Sorry, my bad. ;-;
Great game. Introduction was like a comic book, which I appreciated. Minigames were fun. In the first one you could add her "carrying alot of weight face" to the top of the screen, so I could check her situation while watching out for the next anvil. Maybe the flames going up and down and the fan / water effect could have been a bit smooth. Was it animated with hard transitions? Hammering time was cool, but it was too fast for me on the last repetitions lol, kinda tried to anticipate instead of waiting it to appear. Well maybe i'm slow :D but if the bar was longer and the target moved, it would be easier to slow persons but with a moving target challenge. Unfortunately I didn't manage to see the winner screen here. Congratulations for the whole result. 45k total points on hard :))
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I was considering adding a status bar on the first mini game, but I found it a little distracting since it blocked the falling items. The other mini games will be receiving tweaks and adjustments for the 1.1 version after the jam.
Again, thanks for playing!
Wonderful presentation! This game gave me Kirby Superstar vibes! Everything was clear and easy to understand, the character is memorable and the minigames are easy to pick up! Replayability is also a thing, which is winner for me. Marvelous work!
Appreciate it! I'm a big fan of the game boy aesthetic and seeing the wildcard limitations, seemed like a no brainer to use the palettes that way. Again, thanks for playing!
Neat little game and well executed! I love the palette options and the gameplay is simple but effective. Pretty good all around - nice work!
Thank you for your kind words!
I really liked the art and the expressions of the character, especially managing the furnace. Really cute!
I played it in the brave browser, as it failed in firefox. Not sure if I had a more bugged experience as a result, but I didn't get an ending and didn't see your instructions on that until later. I found the controls a bit clunky, too. I did enjoy that there were different mini-games in the game to play, though. It offered a good variety of art and mechanics. Great work!
It seems like Godot 4.0 projects are failing to load on non-chromium browsers. Still, that's not the cause of the crash, I was just dumb and left out a reference to an empty array which gets filled once it spots a save file. Rest assured, it will be fixed and polished on the 1.1 release.
Thank you for playing!
This is a blast to play. Clever game mechanics making each section of the game unique. The extra palettes are great, it really got me playing more games to see what I could unlock. Overall, an amazing entry and a job well done.
Cute game! I didn't read about the bug before playing so I didn't get an ending until my second playthrough, but that gave me a chance to get a higher score :). The extra palette options are cool.
Appreciate your kind words. Rest assured, that will be fixed in the 1.1 version after the jam.
Pretty good design, lovely art and simple but accurate gameplay. 10/10 -IGN
❤️
The artstyle is incredible and you managed to use the four color palette. But I didn't get any ending, just a black screen :c
Liked the game overall!
Thanks for you feedback. It seems the current version has a bug where if it's your first time playing, the game crashes on the ending screen. Once it spots a save file, this bug is resolved.
very well done! loved the art style. first play-through landed me on a black screen, but tried again and it worked. cute ending. :)
Thanks for trying it out. It seems the current version has a bug where if you don't have a save file, it crashes upon reaching the ending. This will be resolved in a future version.
Super cute game, love the effective simplicity of the large graphic pieces in relation to the mini games. Short, sweet, and super enjoyable. Well done, great submission.
Thanks! The ending images just had to be cut due to time constraints, but they will be added later in an update.
I loved this one!!!
The pixel art is really charming and has a lot of personality in it. The minigames fit really well with the art and the game theme, it reminded me a lot of game boy minigames! The extra pallets are a nice touch and add to the repeatability.
This was my best score 😎
Wow, what a pro gamer 😎😎😎😎. Great job getting the A ending on hard mode!
Among the blacksmith games, this one really stood out for me, the art, the lovely mini-games really neat ! Can easily be grown to something bigger great job !
Thanks a lot! On the original draft, I had 5 mini games planned, but due to time constraints, only 3 made it in. Those other two will be added later in a future patch.
I love this! The art, gameplay, story, its all great, nice job and very complete!
Appreciate it!
I got stuck in the 3rd mini-game, it wouldn't progress, and timer didn't go down?
but the 2nd mini-game had very cool animations and was fun.
Thank you for your comment. On the third minigame, progression is not based on time but on hammer swings. To make progress, you need to first stop the middle meter with Z and then hold UP to charge your swing
I enjoyed this! The visuals are entertaining and I enjoyed the humour
