Game Description
A hello kitty fan has his house invaded by cultists who are against his cutesy-violent aesthetic

How does your game tie into the theme?
You have the option to charge your weapon, making it deal more damage. Because of that, however, your weapon overloads and you have to wait it out til it becomes usable again.

The game is very thematically original! Keep it up

I wish there was a little bit more variety in terms of enemies and weapons. Also, hello kitties felt just like decorations, I think it would be fun if they served some gameplay purpose.

Overall, even though the game has some room for improvement, shooting the bad guys is always fun! I appreciate the tutorial which explains the controls. Well done!

Dang baka cultists always trying to ruin my vibe!  Ran out of bullets, but John Wicked some hello-kitty-hating haters before that.  本当におもしろいですね。Strange aesthetic, but consistent.  Gonna go watch a gardening show so this stuff doesn't enter my dreamscape tonight.  Had fun though, even if my psyche is scarred!

I would like the opponents to have different speeds, or at least reduce their speed. otherwise, they walk fast like the hero. sometimes I got stuck in the walls. I played, it was fun and gloomy))

Developer

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out why the player gets stuck in between collisions in time - sometimes you can get cornered between 3 enemies and there's nothing you can do besides shooting. Happy you still had fun with it though!

I thought it was pretty interesting. If felt like the game play became me maximizing bullet usage. At first I thought I would really enjoy enemies spawning after I killed all of them, but I realized a core part of the loop is waiting, because that time my gun takes to recharge  is a resource. I'm just not sure the waiting is super fun for me personally. Maybe refreshing your gun if you manage to kill on enemies currently spawned might help. Just something to reinforce active gameplay. Just my dumb thoughts though, cool submission!

Developer

Actually your thoughts are spot-on, it does become a waiting game, which wasn't supposed to happen since I coded the cooldown to get lower every 6 enemies, but this doesn't trigger for some reason. I'd like to know better what refreshing the gun means.

Ooooooo, this game oozes charisma. The violent kawaii vibes reminds me of the hyperpop aesthetic for some reason. Super unique, never seen stuff like this before!

I will say one thing, I did not realize you could charge your shots at all until I read some of the comments in this thread. I totally missed the tutorial message at the beginning explaining that. Once I started using it, it definitely helped!

I think my only critique would be about doing more damage versus something else. I kind of wished the overload shot had more deviation. For example, instead of doing more damage, maybe it pierces through targets so you could hit multiple. Maybe you even lose health with how "overloaded" the shot is.

Regardless, good stuff!

I woulve loved adding a more fleshed-out tutorial cutscene, but I felt I didnt make systems modular enough to implement it easier, and I was already busy debugging some errors that were happening from time to time lol.  I really appreciate your feedback and saying my game is charismatic puts a smile on my face :)

I liked the setup and the aesthetic. The game got a bit repetitive.

Good job!

now that's an aesthetic!

LOOVE the aesthetic of this, I am a super big fan of the cutesy / violence clash.

I do feel the connection to the theme is a little loose, but overall this was a joy to play - good stuff!

The game is really fun and i love the idea behind it and the graphics. Also the music is very good. Like DanzMacabre said, at a certain point the ammo wasn't spawning anymore and that's a shame because  it was really fun and i would have played for other minutes. Also the diagonal movement seem way too fast(Have you normalized the vector? ) making it a bit easier. Good luck for your next games!

Ammo would actually spawn more ( 50% chance) but I thought it'd be too easy so I lowered it. In hindsight I should've kept the value. But I'm  glad you still like it!

i love the aesthic with like stuff like the heartbeats and just how stuff was stylized, but like, it dint feel like the theme part was done pretty well, i thought it had something to do with the plushies but i realized later than these are merely decorations, so yeah, love it doesnt fit the theme very well

KawaiiCore!!! That's sick! Lol I love the aesthetic and the concept of he hello kitty home invasion made me laugh! The concept of the game is cool and I love how spooky your enemies look. The tutorialization being a part of the environment is a nice touch and I think really effective! At a certain point the ammo wasn't spawning anymore and that may have been a faux pas on my end for not having managed my own resources well enough! But I was definitely feeling overloaded along with the concept being in the gun ammo as well!
Really nice game and well executed!
