Really cool game! Loved all the transitions and how you grow more powerful over time, very nice weaving of the theme into the game too!

Really nice game! The thematic upgrade system feels really good to play with

I love the transition and the "fill in the story" upgrade system. The art looked awesome and the game captures the theme super well. Nice work!!

This was a ton of fun! I really liked the gameplay loop - played through 21 generations until I got careless. The upgrades were fun and loved the thematic storytelling flavor of them. My only note with this game is that I’d like if the increase in villager strength over time was exposed to the player somehow (maybe thematically the villagers prepare over the generations and it is shown in the upgrade screen). That and the screams are unnerving lol. Great, great game!

Those are some tough villagers! whooff-whoof)
Very solid POC, loved the graphics, sound and story screen (where you acquire upgrades). Would love to see it's further development.

Super fun! Very addicting gameplay loop, very satisfying and clever incorporation of the theme and wildcards. My one complaint is that sometimes the basic attack is difficult to land if you're chasing a villager straight down the screen, I assume something to do with the hitbox placement. It would be cool if the player had 4-way directional attacks. But that's definitely a nitpick, I played for a while and had fun the whole time. Satisfying gameplay with satisfying upgrades. Nice work!

Really liked this implementation of the theme! The gameplay loop/upgrade system were pretty fun, I played through more generations than I was expecting to, haha. And there were some nice touches with the music/audio, as well as the night-to-day transition in the art.

I’m a sucker for upgrade mechanics, and it was implemented cleverly in this game using the infamy mechanic. After 21 generations, my wherewolf heart tired of the bloodshed so I went kamikaze on the town guard.

Would have been even more interesting if there were hero characters in the village, that were more difficult yet more rewarding than the town guard.

Really good entry with a clever use of the theme :) If I try to make a constructive critic, I think it could have been interresting to set a goal for the player and to make it a little bit more challenging each generation (but I get that it's not what you wanted to go for, just a suggestion).

Very nice game. I like the way you integrated uprades into the story. Not a fan of using AI in non AI game jams though.

Wow, this is a slam dunk! Great controls, tight gameplay loop, screen shakes and juice to make the mauling super satisfying. This is just wonderful!

Uh, daaaaaang this was good!  I wish I would have thought of this, but actually never mind, it was solid execution on all levels so it's better I'm not compared apples-to-apples.  It's so easy to see this getting developed a little further with more powerups and enemies.  It would have extra great if it had controller support but there is really nothing to complain about.

Great work on the jam! Game loop was awesome with the powerup system. The game cud be a lil more challenging tho with the increase in generations

Great game, with satisfying sound effects and controls! I loved the gameplay loop, and tying in the folklore as a thematically fitting way to tie in the powerup aspect was very creative!

It would have been nice to see the enemies also diversify over the course of the game - maybe they could bring in archers or priests to deal with the beast as it ravages the town over generations... but the gameplay loop you've already established is so good I can't pretend it really needs anything more :)

Great work!

I really liked the art, and I think the gameplay loop is attractive and fun.

Good job :D

Too easy but otherwise good!

Very fun entry! I would have to say my one and only issue is that I still couldn't 1 shot the guards after 30+ generations. It seems to be that they require a fixed 3 instances of damage. Or perhaps their HP is some sort of generational multiplier. I had 1 goal when I went in, be able to kill everything in a single lunge. That goal died quickly lol, so then I thought- kill everything with a single strike. Just shy of 100 damage per swing and nope.

Needless to say, very fun game. Excellent work. ^^
