I think this game should score waaay higher on "theme"!

You probably should have explicitly said that it was a reinterpretation of Kafka's "Metamorphosis" :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I think everyone missed the name/url play on words...  those easter eggs stay in hiding lol

imo in jams you never know how people are going to vote or what they prioritize. I'm just glad we placed so well & wish I could have implemented more writing

I really hope you work on this after the jam because what I was able to play was great but some UI issues essentially made me unable to progress.  My monitor definitely isn't well calibrated, but I the dark "eye" outline made is so the back button was invisible for me.  I'm also on a stupid ultra monitor and either something obscures the clickable area, or the button and clickable zones get out of sync when resizing.  I'd resize to see the button, the try to resize it back and click in a growing circle since I couldn't see the mouse.  While this was obviously frustrating, I also really wanted to keep playing!

The first attempt I got the key but then clicked on the boombox and couldn't get out.  The second attempt I couldn't even back out of the door after getting dinner.  The setup is great, being called Gregor and given dinner is quite the hint and the game controls were great.  I definitely prefer gamepad but these still felt good, and being such short levels with a quick respawn really helps.

Wow, this is a fantastic game! The art, the gameplay - fantastic! But I especially like how you embeded Kafka in the game - make it the Hikki story. When I read the note on getting the rod and matches, I immediately got where everything was going, but by reflex, I still made that fatal shot. Now I need to replay to see the alternative - could I avoid it? Either way - fantastic game, my #1 favourite this Jam!

Hey, thanks for playing and the kind words! There will be an alternative ending added after the jam, unfortunatly we didn't have the time to polish it.

Cool mix of Hotline Miami and a point and click puzzle.  Fun and snappy controls, easy to restart and blitz through levels again when I mess up, like the addition of redoing the most recent levels so you progressively get better and better at them, learning them without needing to 'grind' the levels.  Very nice shocker ending.

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed our game design, I've been working on that since my last jam. It payed off :)

Fun Hotline Miami action! I enjoyed it, nice job!

First off, I LOVED the artwork in the point and click section of the game. Big fan of that style.

This game was fun! Very unique blending of two types of games. The sense of dread connected to the horror element of the game took me by surprised. Game ran incredibly well. Keep up the great work! This is a cool bit of media.

Radish: Very original concept of two games in one, the surreal situation hits hard. Very well executed and great retro vibes.

Squirrel: Nice subversion of expectations, good controls. A choice at the end would be very nice.

This was really interesting. I wasn't expecting to go from a shooter to a point and click / FMV style game.

The ending is a little abrupt but I suppose that's probably by design. I like the detail of the music pitching/slowing down on game over and the camera transition during the 3D phases were satisfying.

That is SO impressive! Amazing gameplay and polish on the first phase, and then there is the whole 3d sequence too!

Great job!

Amazing game, so much is happening, some hotline miami vibes which are really nice, is a great start to something amazing. Keep that team, you're doing awesome things, Congrats :D

Great entry, I loved the mashup of genres. Tight controls during the shooter, eerie and tense vibes on the point and click.

Homie put two games in one! Wow! Not only are both games very polished and beautiful but the environment and atmosphere of the whole game and honestly just wow. Very eerie as well. The attention to detail is amazing

Very nicely polished. Cool use of shaders with a retro vibe. Well done.

I got stuck looking at a cat?

Where do I even start? This game is awesome! The shooting feels satisfying and fun, mixed in with the mysterious story, such a surreal vibe. 😎

I found it difficult to find the enemies in the level since they only show up when you are super close to them. Though it makes the gameplay more intense, there were times where I would wander around trying to find the last enemy and run out of time.

It has *so* much going on, wow. I'm not entirely sure what went on by the end, though I'm sure that's partly by design. Was it real? Imagined? Are you being kept against your will there? Definitely the kind of ending that leaves more questions than answers, very intriguing.

Also hotline miami point and click hybrid is something you don't see every day. Both parts were well executed, and through the level reuse on the hotline miami part was pretty obvious it was still fun all the way through to the end. I also love all the shaders
