Nice & fun use of AI for this little game😊!

This was fun to play, type and to see what kind of answers would come back to my input. And having a score added is a nice bonus, giving you a sort of idea that you've done well.

Controls were of course very simple but very effective. Graphically, it was certainly well done with the dancing letters and colors. It all fit together nicely. The spooky background music completed the atmosphere.

For a small, simple game, it was very entertaining to experiment with and also to see what you could use AI for and what crazy responses you can get.

Curious to see how you could expand on this... If you ever do an update, let us know.

All in all, I'd say it was a successful experiment. Good job.πŸ’ͺ

Yeah I think it was a fun little toy, in it's current state I don't think I'd call it a game πŸ˜‚ to expand, I'll be making it a mobile app and using on-device ML - that way you don't need an internet connection. I think it needs a proper branching narrative with multiple endings. A few different ways to use the AI, e.g. "you need to convince your neighbour that you're not doing anything untoward". I could switch that over to a text message type view, which would mean there's a few different "sections", adding to the variety a little bit. Maybe even incorporate some map based AR stuff e.g. "you need to do this ritual in a park". Maybe you get a "text message" notification with something new to do after a couple of days, that sort of thing!

I think it is a nice idea to use on device ML. Get rid of the delay also for web requests. Even though it did not bother me during the playthrough of this game.
It is indeed a fun little toy to play with and see what heading you can take it too make it more fun and still feel like a game with a little bit of control for the player also. And to keep that smile on the players face.
When you do update or make something new out of it. Give us a notice. We are curious!

The way you used the AI here is simply fantastic! I really enjoyed exploring the various options it can generate, it's always unpredictable and interesting to analyze the responses based on our input.

The music and text effects were also spectacular, and the colors created a wonderful ambiance, making the environment much friendlier and more engaging. It truly was a great palette to use.

The only issue I encountered during the game was having to restart a few times due to some bugs when sending messages, I'm not entirely sure what caused that.

Overall, it’s a great game, congratulations on it and the creativity you showcased!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words! The bugs actually happen due to the Google Gemini API request timing out, I'm exploring ways to do it on-device with no external request at all. Better for the environment, faster, probably a little more consistent too 😁

Very creative game and a perfect use case for AI! Art & music was simple but well executed. My only issue was that I kept typing in capital letters instead of lowercase and the screen would go black and I had to restart. Other than that, great job!

Such a funny and creative game and a very innovative play on the theme. Don't know how someone could think of an idea like that and execute it so seamlessly in the timeframe. Simple and sweet style with the font and colours. One bug I found was just entering a different letter and pressing enter when selecting my eldritch being caused the screen to go black and I had to restart just to note if your developing the game further(which you should)

Developer

Thank you! 😁 That's a good bug to catch actually, I always just pressed the right letters πŸ˜‚ definitely taking it further, I have so many more ideas for it, and I quite enjoyed the creative writing challenge! The development was so much more chaotic than you'd think, I basically only worked on the code on the last day of the jam 😬

One of the funniest game ! The music you choose, the art... it fits well and create a unique goofy ambiance !

Congrats x)

I loved your game haha

This game is great because the responses are so unique. I offered a demon a copy of Cosmo with a "Which Sex in the City character are you?" quiz and my plants turned into Carry Bradshaws. It's a very fun use of AI. Wish it had a little more to it than pure text adventure such as images of the demons or the chores to be done. Still a quick bit of fun.

There's some real character to this game, I think the art choices you made were very well done. The font style and slight movey around effects add a lot to the vibe, as does the color palatte. The song is solid but it stopped playing halfway through my playthrough, I'm guessing because it wasn't set to loop and just finished playing. There didn't seem to be much logic to the creativity score for my answers but the idea was pretty neat. I think the gameplay could have used a bit more, uh, gameplay lol, but I get that wasn't the direction you were going for. I just think being able to see/interact with my typed decisions would have added a whole lot. Overall this is a pretty unique game with a cool atmoshphere but I feel that the gameplay portion and theme application is lacking a bit. Cool/unique entry!

Thanks for the kind words! I think animated text adds quite a lot to this style of game, it adds a bit of juice that you wouldn't usually get.

I did forget to set it to loop, such a silly mistake but I didn't play it for long enough with the sound on to notice!

I would really love to add some sort of sharing mechanic, or maybe even something like a "playground" mode where you can tweak the wording slightly and see what difference it makes.

I love the "mocking pile of laundry" joke  xDD (It does capture the day to day vibe) It was a fun ride thank you!

First things first- for some reason it took me five restarts before I got this game running. Each time it crashed the first time I selected the demon. The last time though, it worked! And I liked it! Short and minimalist, but nicely done.

I honestly don't know if using AI is cool. Is this innovation, or cheating? Meh, I used AI today to write some sql queries, so to innovation it goes :)

Good job!

Developer(+1)

ha, thank you! I tried to keep the AI use absolutely minimal, it only generates the "strange powerup" and gives you a creative score. Everything else was written by me! So it's not like AI actually did anything for me, it wasn't used to generate assets or code or anything (because it is very bad at that).

I'm sorry it took so long before it ran properly, the gemini api request sometimes just takes AGES. It will eventually timeout and let you try again, but it's something I'm looking into.

It was pretty fun testing out what answers the ai would count/what score it would give you! The music stopped after a while and there were no sound effects really. The game is a text adventure, so there isn't some crazy art in here, but I really like all the text effects! Yeah, for innovation I think it's pretty high up, using AI to validate your answers is a very nice concept. Great work for only 10 hours!

Developer(+1)

Oh no, I forgot to set the music to loop 😭 didn't appear in my testing of course πŸ˜‚

Thanks for playing!
