2D games with lighting definitely gets my attention a lot , art style and visuals are really good!

loved the idea of the game and most definitely enjoyed the gameplay..

Keep up the good work mate!

Developer

Thank you for trying out our little game!!

Cute little game 😊!

The art style was nice and cute. Controls worked fairly well, except for what others mentioned about diagonal movement. Maybe the movement was a bit too slow, and more feedback during fights would be helpful. The power-ups weren't particularly strange, just regular power-ups. The poison was a nice twist though 😊.
Catchy little tune as audio track.

All in all, a nice basic game that could potentially have more levels, options, and polish in the future. Keep it goingπŸ’ͺ!.

Developer

Thank you so much!! and thank you again for hosting this game jam it`s very well organized and the community is so nice!!

Host(+1)

And thank you for the kind words. We do are best to make it a fun jam and community :-)!

A lot of 2d games overlook lighting so it was nice to see you took the time to do that. The controls were a little strange (hard to move diagonal) and the attacks could have used SFX. Would love to see this fully developed!

Developer

Yayy happy you liked it!! I can`t wait to continue developing this game  >:33

Nice art and the music fits the game well. I like the rat's swishing tail :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I`m very proud of the animations myself too ^^

Nice job with the art! I would have liked the movement to be less slidey and to be able to tell when the spiders were attacking. You got me with the poison lol. Nice game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! will try to improve the movement after the jam  ^^

Very nice and enjoyable Game. I wish there were more Levels and more power-ups! I had issues with fighting, but maybe this was intentional.

With polishing this could become a really cool Game!

Developer

Omgg thank you!!  We will need to expand the world after the jam for sure  :3

Fun art style and a neat world to explore! I wish I could have talked to the person swimming in the water :)

It was a little hard to avoid getting hit by the spiders while fighting them - maybe that was the intention. If not, maybe they could get knocked back a little bit after you hit them to reward good timing. Not sure if that's the point of the game though :)

I loved the rat poison power-up. I'm not sure what else I expected :)

It was a bit meant to be like swarmed by the spiders, but I love the idea of adding knock back!!   Thank you for trying out our little game!   ^^

It is a interesting little rat game attacking outsiders and don't eat poison. If I may ask is this game both your first game? It has nice potentials for sure I think.

It has a good base to work more on it. Like you could polish the UI, make indeed more levels and use more powerups (what are the powerups?) fix the movement and combat cause if I wanted to go up or down I went diagonally this was cause before I pressed 2 keys. And add some knockback on the enemies.

Overall interesting game that could be a good game when worked out more!

Thank you for trying out our little game!

We did talk that we would continue developing this game after the jam. And this is the first game with a combat system, but over all 2 game for us.(I`ve been otherwise a artist only)

(our first game was a 2D platformer with nothing but movement and a few movable objects)

Well done if you ever need some help coding / artwise you can always reach out to me! I like rats/mouses haha.

This game could really have some potential!

Developer(+1)

I'll keep that in mind, thank you!!  ^^

The black tiny rat concept is cute, and I appreciate the effort put into it! The gameplay feels straightforward, though it didn't stand out too much for me. I did like the hidden poison Easter egg and rat animation.—nice touch! Overall, it's a decent game, good concept   but could benefit from a bit more complexity to make it more engaging.  Found no bugs—nice work!

Developer

Such good feedback!! Thank you! It`s my first time coding anything fighting related so I`ll keep this in mind.  ^^

I like the art style of the game, and the music is great. it's one of these games where I can get lost if the game is longer :)

Developer

Yeess if/when this game gets longer we will need to add events and npc to navigate the player.  ^^

Thank you for playing!

This is a fun game, nice job! The art is really nice and I especially loved the animation of the rat's tail it has a really lovely natural looking "swishy-ness" to it. The music is great too, I was bopping my head. Like others have said the movement gets a little wonky on the diagonal but its not a big deal to me. Another similar issue is if you attack while moving the attack animation cuts off completely. I really enjoyed the twist that one of the power-ups is just poison and then you die lol I thought that was unexpected and great. Pretty unique take on a common game type, keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!! soooo happy you enjoyed! I will have to try to fix the bug, appreciate your feedback!!  ^^

The visuals looks great ! the only thing i have to mention is the player's movement : when i want to go to left, for example, the player is moving diagonally. But I don't know if it's made to be like that.

Despite this, the game is really cool, congrats !

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I`m very proud of the art myself   ^^

I could not find the reason why it does that, so it`s a feature now  :D (jk I will fix it when I figure it out)  :D

Short but good game, specially the art style!!! Great work.

Developer

Thank you!! Happy you enjoyed it ^^

Cool and cozy game. It was a little funny to die of poison power-up. I really love the artstyle and YEAH, we are RAT BUDDIES!!

There is a small visible thing here: the diagonal control works very strangely. The character seems to be sliding, but some keys are not being read.

good job anyway!

Developer(+1)

HELL YEAA!!  >:DD

I see-eeeeee what you mean. I`ll go and check if I can find something wrong with the code. Thank you for informing me!!  :D

The art it very good! What was missing were the strange power-ups. There were only 2 power-ups and they are not really that strange :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our game!!

And thank you for the feed-back, had trouble with a (actually strange) power up for the majority of the time and could not get it to work for the life of me. So I added in the end just something, ANY power ups so yeah.   :,)
