How does your game relate to the theme?
Our game fits the "one shot" theme by giving you a single attempt to complete each level—one mistake, and it's game over. The leaderboard follows this concept too: every time you replay, your previous score is replaced. So, unlike traditional highscores, your ranking changes with each attempt. If you want to keep your score, it’s best not to risk playing again.

Swinging is always fun and the music and sound effects were great (although kinda pokemony?)

My only problem with the game was that the physics felt unsatisfying. I was expecting to zip through the air like spiderman, but attaching to a surface constantly reeled me in and letting go of left click made me drop like a brick.

I really liked this game. The grappling mechanic could be made a bit more responsive or quick. The character sounds are funny! I lost because a bird hit me lol!

Grappling mechanics are extremely popular & one of the top 5 mechanics that almost every one has fun with.  Simple and straight to the fun, The scream sound FX is a very good choice, instead of showing confidence it gives off the 'guy becomes superhero but he is very scared' which is hilarious😂 I like how you don't instant die when you go off the bottom of the screen & there is some buffer, it really lets the player feel 'smart' and powerful as they have the 'made it' moments! The lamp is an interesting choice between it adds depth to the level, I can see myself just spam-going if it wasn't for the lamp! Overall, Great fun!

The sound effect of the player shouting is very funny!

At first I found the game unfair, because without knowing what the next obstacle will be, you can't calculate the exact height to let go of the rope, but after a while I started using a “short rope” technique to go more slowly and see the challenge ahead.

It worked well for me, it's how I managed to get further, but I still didn't get anywhere near the records.

Another thing that struck me was how fun the game is, even with its simple graphics. Nowadays, AAA studios spend a lot of money on realistic graphics, while a monochrome game that does the basics is more fun.

Very well and enjoyable. That's the first Spider-Man fun game that I had ever played. Good work with him. Good idea of your part putting that is impossible touch when you already passed something.

The sound effects were hilarious lmao. The game itself was a lot of fun, and I think the ragdoll physics definitely add a lot to the experience. This would make a good mobile game if you decide to continue working on it.

A very fun physics-based game!

I have 2 main pieces of feedback:

  1. A clearer distinction between objects that you can swing on vs just background art would have helped usability a lot - something as simple as making them different colors I think would suffice
  2. I wish there was incentive for moving fast - something like  getting more points if you are moving faster. Once I figured out I could avoid most things by just swinging low and attaching to previous objects behind me to not go too high, the pace slowed down and I was able to get second place quite easily on the leaderboards, but it didn't feel as fun as when I did a super long swing that made me shoot across the screen. If you can incentivize those big swings, I think it would feel extra satisfying when you pull it off.

I too felt like i should add some distinction. But got a bit delayed with the project. I will add it in next update and as for adding more points, I'm thinking of something like added bonus when he falls.

Kept hitting the low helicopter but managed to get a decent score,

the character and the scream are funny touch. i liked the gameplay. the game is sometimes easy and sometimes hard. i can't define the problem but it's either the swing itself needs to have some push forward for speed or something or the world generation that sometimes you swing too low and suddenly a street lamp comes to give you a good-night sleep.

Solid submission. I like the simple monochromatic art style and it was a good choice for a quick jam.  Felt a bit sluggish and knowing where the hit boxes were was tough sometimes, so making it a bit faster paced and maybe color variations on the parts that hit vs. those that don't work improve things. I'd also like to see a version where the web doesn't shorten as you swing, but that might just be a design choice. Good job overall.

It reminded me of a stickman game I used to play a lot, kind of like Spider-Man. I really enjoyed it! The only thing is, it was a bit hard to spot the bird flying by it kind of blended in with the buildings, and before I knew it, I was dead. And what’s up with those tall poles being the same height as helicopters 😂😂

Felt like the tactic to go was to try and stay as low as possible, but then you start going too fast and it makes it a tricky balance of stayin' up! Good stuff man, simple and effective.

Hi! Congratulations on your game! I didn't quite understand how it fits the theme, but it's really fun and challenging. It reminded me of the Spider-Man games I played as a kid, hahaha The graphics are simple but fit well. The only issue with the gameplay is that I found level one a bit hard, but maybe I'm just a noob lol. Great game!

Each time you play, your score on the leaderboard gets reset (unlike how it is traditionally where it gets reset only when you get a high score). So if you wish to keep your high score it's best not to play anymore ;)
