An interesting concept. Enjoyed wandering around in the absolute darkness, atmosphere is spooky. Well done!
Hey there! I really like the looks and concept of your game!
I didn't get to go very far since my old laptop struggles to process games made on unreal but hey, it opened and I was even able to explore and play through the beginning before it froze, Yay! ≧◡≦
I'm sorry was not able to play through your entire game right now (T_T)
I'll see if one of my friends with decent computers are free later so we can dl it and I can finish playing it together with them :D
Regardless of that just know that even without the full experience I could already tell that you put a lot of effort in this game, I mean -you made a game so clean it actually loaded and worked for a couple of minutes in an outdated laptop! That's really impressive (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
So congratulations \(^▽^)/ Keep up the good work ^-^
Thank you for you kind comment
Really cool ! Love the whole ambiance of the game. The darkness is really oppressing and make you feel lost as soon as you took a few turns. The sound design match the whole setup neatly and help set the mood.
few feedbacks:
All in all. A really good game. great work :)
Thank you so much for the feedback,i will fix those
Sure,Here is my Discord ID DefualtMannequin#3081
So the sound and maze design was quite good. The enemies moved and sounded convincing, and it was cool you could see the red light from a distance. Controls were easy. Felt a bit like piloting a mech with the two arms (plug pins) so I kept trying to click and shoot at the mobs. If I could sum this experience up in a word, that word would be "dark".
Thank you for playing the game
Damn that is one scary journey to go switch on the light!
Ah is your game made with UE5? If so then that's why I can't play it on Linux since the compatibility tools to run Windows games are not updated yet.
As a result I have jumping artifacts and I can't see anything :/
I just wanted to let you know that. Don't worry I won't rate since it wouldn't be very fair! ^^
Ah... Sorry to hear that but the game was made with ue4
Good atmosphere, the level design is a bit repetitive and a bit too dark. Hard to find out where to go.
Cool sounds effect for the door opening and I really like the materials you used for the walls The reflective settings reminded me of the Alien movies. Good horror sci-fi atmo.
You did well with the atmosphere, notably the sound and graphics worked well together and I liked the audio you had for the spiders walking on metal (perhaps it would have been spookier if their footsteps echoed through the halls).
I'm not sure the horror tone/atmosphere you were creating made sense given you play as a plug looking for it's socket, seems like a tonal mismatch there.
A solid entry.
Thank you so much for the feedback
A little too dark, as many people point out, but I liked how you implemented a horror-type game with the eery music/sound effects. Very cool concept!
Thank you so much for the feedback
A little too dark for me, but I do enjoy the great atmosphere with all the sfx. Somehow it feels scary.
Thank you for playing the game
I liked the concept of this game. I think the idea is interesting. The atmosphere was nice with the exception of the lighting in the rooms, it could have been a little brighter.
Good job and good luck with the jam!
Have you played Alien on NES? I had Vietnamese flashbacks about exactly this after a couple of minutes.
Unusual, very atmospheric, with suspense. And it is difficult for people like me - those who do not know how to memorize sequences well at the level.
Perhaps more people will appreciate the game, if somehow simplify the process for them - show part of the level map open in previous attempts or mark previously checked sockets as "wrong". It can periodically give more light for a short time or allow you to escape from the enemy in certain ways.
Interesting idea, I like the idea of looking for the plug socket. It was a little too dark, but work to build suspense.
I couldn't get the monsters to be scared though, I'm not sure if its a bug or I'm doing it wrong.
In any case, it was a nice game. Great job!
The objective of the game was easy enough to understand. The sounds fit quite well with the atmosphere. I think the level was too dark and that makes it hard to traverse. Also, I'm not really sure about this, but I think the enemy does not lose aggro, so I think you should make them do. Some more animation of you actually putting in the plug would've also been nice, to give it a more interactable feel.
Good job!
way to make me soil my pants :(, jokes aside it was a very intense game audio was applied perfectly and made great suspense. I cant wait to see more :)
good job!
Game was straight forward enough - traverse a maze to reach the socket end goal. The world was too dark, and without any visual cues to distinguish different paths, it was easy to be lost and turned around. Intentional game design? Just left the experience not that fun.
Art itself that I could see looked good and sounds were suitably spooky. Perhaps some flashing lights (like a broken fluoroscent tube) would still suit the mood but provide a bit more light.
A bit weaks on a connection to the theme 'connection'. Yes, you are a plug - but so what? Could have been a mouse looking for cheese and it's the same game. If the player did something with the idea of being a plug, that would be better.
I captured my first 5 min of play to help you better understand what a new player thinks getting into the game:
Thank you so much ,That helps ALOT!
