Did you work in a team?
Solo project. Great experience overall despite the last minute crunch. Learned a lot about code structure, scope, and polish.
Was the resolution a challenge?
For what it is, this game packs a lot of information about object relationships that the player needs to understand. I explain most things via sound and animation to conserve realestate and avoid having to use words to explain what's happening.
What did you learn?
I think I gained a better understanding of structuring a turn based puzzle like this, and I also learned how important it is to have a good framework for procedural animations. I originally intended to learn PICO-8 for my submission, but I quickly realized that I would not live up to my own expectations if I not only had to ship a game, but also learn a new platform -- so I stuck to what I'm familiar with: LÖVE, which the initial prototype was built in during the first few days.

Cool game! I really like the dynamic of trying to deal with whatever gets thrown at you while simultaneously trying to raise your score. It's a fun balancing act. great job!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on making this game !
I've played your game during a live that you can watch here :
The live is timestamped so you can go directly to your game.
I hope the feedback and live reactions will be useful. Keep it up !
Thanks again for playing, Darenn! :) Really valuable to see others play for the first time
My pleasure !
Really good. It's surprising how much engagement can come from a few fairly simple parameters. Everything about this game is well conceived and executed. Great job.
Thanks so much!!
Really pretty and thoughtful game; I love how the action selection system feels like its from a board game! I only wish there was a bit more rng-mitigation for when you get tiles that aren't at all helpful for you.
I played this game on stream, the vod is up at http://bit.ly/bean-stream
Thanks so much for playing!!
Cool! At first I didn’t understand anything, then I read the instructions and got carried away seriously. Good gameplay, beautifully drawn.
Glad you had fun :) Thanks for the feedback!
Great fun! The outcome felt a little to random due to the small playfield, I wonder what would happen if you had a 3x3 or 4x4 area to place stuff on.
Thank you for the feedback and for playing :) A 3x3 grid was one of the things I really wished I had the time to experiment with, but alas, jam timelines :) This release is definitely just the first step for this game!
Love it. Took a short while to figure out how the controls worked but a great little puzzle afterwards
Thanks so much for playing!
Great little game! I love the parsimony of mechanics and the animations were really communicative.
Thank you <3
Cuute! ^^ I got firs go I got:
5 berries 6 mushrooms 1 heart left
second go I got
3 berries 9mushrooms 3 hearts left
such a fun and well polished little game, its easy to learn what is happening and the interactions each tile has, and its fun to find out the relationships first time, hand+snake? :D great game! congrats on the feature well deserved! :)
Thank you!!
Very nice entry and nice puzzle concept, forcing you to build up sequences of actions on top of each tile. Very fun to play. Sound and gfx are very good and the global reslut is a great entry! Congratz!
Thanks <3
Beautiful game, love the concept, Will definitely play more of this :D
Thank you for playing! :)
Very cool puzzle, excellent graphics, easy to pick up and play, and fun!
It'd be nice if there were ways to manipulate your hand because sometimes it seemed a bit unfair in terms of the hand you're dealt, but I also think it's nice that you have to learn to do your best with whatever you have on your hand. Maybe having a couple of "shuffles" for each playthrough would help.
Music/sound is super good as well, and this game has a high level of polish. I feel like this is the kind of entry that with a few more features here and there could easily be sold on a platform. Excellent job!
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback!

AAAAA
Very intuitive to sort out by trying the different tiles on different things. Great design, it's extremely satisfying to get a bunch of hands right when you need them and scoop up all your plants. Great audio and visuals as well, it's a really charming package.
Thank you for the kind words!!
Absolutely wonderful!
Exceptional design here - as I didn’t have to read anything to fully understand the game.
Everything was beautifully and intuitively explained through sight and sound.
Thanks for the fun and joy :D
Thanks so much!! I'm really happy you had a great time <3
Nice Game! I Love The Idea! Can you play my game?
Thanks! Will do :)
Perfect art! I love it
Thank you :)
The visuals and audio are super clean here. Great use of screen real estate and colors. The mechanics are simple for the most part, which I think is good for a puzzle game, and especially good for a jam game (too complicated = people won't really play your game. Ask me how I know XD). My main criticism of the game is that the strategy seems very localized. What I mean is that you basically _can't_ play for the future. You have to make the best of the next square with no real ability to look into the future to build a strategy. I'd love to see how this game feels if you can see the next turn or two ahead of time to allow the player to start strategizing as to how to optimize their board. I pretty consistently get between 1200 and 1300 in the few games I've played. Overall a very solid entry that does the 64x64 restriction very well.
Valuable feedback, thank you!
Very relaxing game, super pretty too! Great job!!!
Thank you :3
I'm not much into puzzle games (although my submission to this jam is a puzzle) but I did enjoy this game. Thanks.
Thank you for playing! :)
