Description
Clocks... The Soundtrack! - OST Composing Jam #6 Submission
A soundtrack for an imaginary wacky (and legally questionable) adventure of the Time Anomaly Preventers, T.A.P. for short. A group of special agents curated not only by their skills, and intelligence but also their genetic abnormalities that allow them to endure the influence of "Timey Thing(tm)" wristwatches which speeds up the users' physical and mental capabilities to the extent of perceiving a millisecond to be relatively as long as a normal second!
As our protagonist, named "Main Character", a 17-year-old Japanese boy woke up to a call briefing him to investigate an irregular time shift in Italy. One thought popped into his mind, "Guess I'll be late to math class today."
...I didn't think this through, deal with it.
Electronic, Breakcore, Jazz
Mainly used VSTs, and samples I've bought and/or have legal rights to use to compose
DAW used is Ableton Live 10
Message from the artist:
Yo, thanks for listening. Have a nice day!
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
Clock, mechanical, and time-related sounds were implemented into the songs to fit the word theme.
The picture inspired the weirder dreamy soundscape the tracks were composed under and its' imaginary game.

There are a lot of good entries in this jam, but this is not only the most unhinged album in the entire jam, it's got the chops to back it up: mixed to perfection, musically the themes are very strong, tonal transitions are absolutely flawless and come at you so fast you never get a chance to get bored of one before you're already on the next. Interesting stratification of genres, and there's enough space in the mix to make it effective VGM as well. This is the one. This is
my best catmy favorite album in the jam.MEANS A WORLD(cool cat)
Music vibe is sus and funky, I swear I can sing and rap this without getting tired :]]
Kudos for quite literally add clock sounds :]]
Thank you!
Theme was time, me add clock, profit. I'm truly a go-getter.
The feeling of waking up and trying to get going with the stress it can be is really nicely captured in the first couple of cues, and the dreamy soundscape is really apparent.
The incorporation of ticking sound works really well - present but not disturbing or annoying.
Good job with having a varied soundtrack that is still kept together.
Thx! Glad you liked it really EBIC
This was really fun to listen to! I think my favorite track was Alarm Clock Type Beat, it feels cool, melancholic, and hype. Love the beat and the siren. Great job!
CERTIFIED CLOCK CLASSIC.
I love how diverse the tracks are, yet still feel very connected because of the consistent electronic production - it's very cool and i can't say that i remember ever hearing something quite like it before.
It's really cool how you take loops and let them play out while things change around them, and then let the loops themselves change every once in while. It creates sections that are different from each other that still transition from one another pretty smoothly, and it makes the tracks feel lively and not too repetitive.
Super cool soundtrack!
Super cool gigachad kind comment!
The sound design and sound selection, the ominous feel I had from these tracks... but I think I'd much rather be slaying time anomalies, that one's groovy- oh nvm I also feel uneasy hahaha I hope that'll be enough anxiety to get me to wake up in time for math class, the piano is so pretty I might as well snooze for a bit... uhh that isn't allowed? All in all it's groovy and cool, this is the part where it's serious! U^U
bro spittin' fax right here thank you
That's really very creative! It's a rareness when someone writes humorous music, well done!
"the funni" is my favorite genre
The groove of the "Sick Beat" is insane! I don't know what your compositional process is, but it's crazy!
Well, I'm here to tell you that you won't be first in this jam. Not because it's not good, but because you've gone too far in one style. And your style, in my opinion, is divisive. I had 2 friends listen to it, one said "what's that sh*t!" and the other said "what's that awesome sh*t!".
Personally, I love what you do. It's totally my thing!
LOL, yeah I get that a lot. I kinda like that actually. The advantage of going a bit full-in on some aspects without caring too much about how "safe" a product will come out means that even though there'll be some people who dislike it which is fine, the people who enjoyed the work will resonate with it deeply. At least in my opinion. (COPIUM)
Very unique soundscape very impressed
than u cat profil pic berson
Wow... didn't expect spanish inquisition and this really weird but fascinating soundscape!
Trully Groovy Soundtrack, Neat Job! (bad pun intented ~_^)
Tysm, I really appreciate your kind words but DON'T EVER MAKE THAT PUN TO ME AGAIN DON'T YOU EVER-
You have a very cool and funky style of music! I enjoyed listening to this soundtrack - and the humour you brought into your story/song descriptions!
comedy is my passion. music is just a means to write my jokes. (also thx lmao)
Right off the bat sounding very unique with the sound choices and chromatic progression. The ending to the first track was extremely cool. Second track has another chromatic progression to keep up the unsettling feel, and man, this is one hell of a cool mood. Third track goes really hard, while also having a blues feel with the flat 5 notes. Fourth track is a cool vibe. Cool horror feel in The Part Where It's Serious. Would absolutely play a game with this ost. Sixth track with the INTENSE intro into the spy jazzy feel. Amazing work and one of the most creative entries I've seen so far!
Yooo, that’s comprehensive tysm! I always try to go wacky when it comes to personal work it’s fun.
Very groovy, very sound design-y, very interesting. My personal favorite is Alarm Clock Type Beat.
Also the names of the tracks are very cool.
yessssss, i do be doing some sound disign-y black magic. thx!
Yeah, Alarm Clock Type Beat ROCKS ^_^.
I heard that one in the discord server when the jam first started and it blew me away I'm super happy to hear the finished version OwO
I'm setting it as my alarm ringtone. XD
HONORED TO BE YOUR ALARM
Real nice grooves found myself bopping along to them, and the title ITS TIMING TIME made me laugh, like the hype man for setting up Rubik's cube comp. awesome work
ITS COMPOSING TIME! I LIKED THE PART WHERE JOHN COMPOSER STARTED COMPOSING FOR OST COMP JAMS!!!
Nice concept! More Breakcore, please!
BREAKCORE! BREAKCORE!! BREAKCORE!!!
This is an awesome entry. I can definitely see this being used for a somewhat trippy-looking game with some dark humor (I’m not sure why dark humor comes to mind, it just seems like it would accompany that sort of game.) I really like the funky vibe to the whole soundtrack, and the instrumentation is really well-chosen.
thank you! dark humor ftw.
It's a fun soundtrack to listen to. I love the crisp sound design and all the percussive elements that you used. Nice work getting all this music done in 9 days!
glad you liked it! the only reason I was able to assemble this in 9 days was due to a lack of maidens. (and friends in general)
