Description
I used Logic Pro, and it's more of a Kingdom Hearts/sonic-esque composition. so how i composed everything is everything starts out happy and fill with joy but the joy slowly turns to joyful chaos/ dark chaos within each adding voicing in the music

Message from the artist
you guys mess with mutated frogs with EtHeReAL powers?

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
it truly captures the ambient tones of the night sky including the utter chaos that lurks behind each corner waiting for someone to calm said chaos.

A beginner at composing? I can't wait to see what you'll be doing next lol, this was super good!

Developer(+1)

I appreciate it 🦕

game over cuh is the best track name ive seen so far

your drums are written very well (i smell a percussionist), and i love your choice in chord progressions! you have insane compositional skills, dude, and i'd love to see more from you. my biggest critique is your mixing, but other ppl have brought it up and im not tryna harp on about it

again, INSANE compositional skills, dude. im being soooo fr when i say i wish i could write as well as you like DANG. i'm obsessed with "BOSS", it's really something i'd put in a playlist. keep up the good work!!!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it. im literally a beginner when it comes to composing, but I appreciate the love, bro 🌵🫶

The Landscape 2-1 has got to be one of my favorite things I've heard in the jam so far, the piano had me making jazz faces. The basswork and drums throughout the whole ost were really well done. Would agree that the mixing could use some work, especially - might be my headphones adding to it, but there's a really high pitched noise in it that hurts a little. The rest of the tracks are amazing though, great work!

Very impressed by the originality in the choice of ingredients. Bravo!

Developer

many thanks dude!

yo! this ost deserves more love, man! my favorites were the landsccape 2-1 and BOSS. the pianos and basslines go wild!! BOSS is especially fun to listen to mah gawddd. i love the bitcrushing too. my only critique is the mixing, as twitchy mentioned below. the frequency spectrum could be more balanced. but holy shit, good stuff !!

Developer

im glad you like it dude many thanks for the critique it's like a bull to tame an eq but ill continue to learn lol 🌵

Are you a percussionist by any chance? The drum programming in this is insane! And man that piano in The Landscape is freaking nuts

The composition is incredible and the way the basslines and drums and the melodies link up is just so *chefs kiss*
I think my only complaint here is the mixing, the audio sounds very compressed and not fully balanced. For example in the first track it sounds like there's an intense bitcrusher on the master and it makes the high end a bit uncomfortable and there's also a lot of bass which makes it feel unbalanced on the frequency spectrum.

Other than that I really don't have any issues with this entry, the composition was great and it was a blast to listen to. I just subscribed lol, thanks for sharing!

Developer(+1)

yes I am lol 😅 the bitcrusher with mix was kinda difficult for me to master but I really appreciate the feedback and I'm happy loved it! 🌵❤️

I was hoping for a secret code with the letters that were capitalized in the titles but alas, it seems to be for naught.

Developer

Possibly👀 nah I'm kidding but I'm glad you thought of that it's giving me more ideas 😂🤝🏾

This was really fun and had lots of varied styles present, I think your melodic ideas especially stood out to me as well as using the non percussion instruments to create really cool rhythms as well. I do think sometimes you got a bit overzealous on the amount of percussion, and i think reducing the amount going at once could help clean things up a bit here. But great work!

Developer(+1)

thank you so much for listening! Ill keep it in mind for the next once im really glad you enjoyed the listen 🌵

I heard some of the tracks in the devlog-chat but I had to comment on them again. Rhythmically every song is so fun especially Landscape 2-1 and Warehouse 1-2. The beginning of Landscape 2-1 reminds me a lot of Yoko Shimomura's work on Parasite Eve and Kingdom Hearts 2. I do wish that the bass was a little louder/more prominent in that song to give it that fullness but the sound choices/instrumentation are super creative. Overall this is great work :)

Developer

im glad you like it! big preesh! 🌵❤️

There are very interesting ideas!
First track(main) very atmospheric but tooo harsh, and volume balance is a bit off
In Second Varehouse lead synth from 0:46 bit to loud
In Landscape drums from 0:53 sounds very monotonous. Adding variations to them will improve overall feeling.

In general the work is very interesting, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm a drumset player and was skeptical about whether I should do more with the drums(or everything, lol). But I'll continue to bring out stuff a little more along with Balance. Thanks again! 🌵

Developer

Thank yall for the critique and the kind words 🫶

Frogs...? FROGS!?!? *croak croak*

the Landscape 2-1 is so soothing...

I fell in love with BOSS. It is very contrasting and beautiful) (Did I hear the legendary "cmon!" from Sonic soundtracks? I love it!)

Excellent work with rhythm, drums and percussion! There is a lot of individuality in the work

The only complaint is the mixing, but it's a great job!

*croak croak*

Developer

thank you so much! 🌵

I must admit that "the LAnDSCcaPe 2-1" and "BOSS" are tracks that I would put on my personal playlist. I absolutely love them! Great work Bumpus!!

Developer(+1)

I sincerely appreciate that! The LAnDSCcaPe 2-1 is my favorite one, 2nd to the boss theme. Much love ❤️🌵

Submitted(+1)

All right I think your composition is pretty nice and with some unexpected rythms the only thing you're probably aware, its the mix. In a bunch of songs especially the main theme there is some super annoying high frequency that is desperate need to be tone down. All your percussions can also probably "boom" way harder, it already sound decent because the arrangement is good but it can be better (insert pedro pascal meme) , Well done !

Developer (1 edit)

I think I realized the problem. I had a bit crusher setting on that changed the bit rate a little; that's why it sounds weird  🌵 oop

Submitted(+1)

The COME ON!! sample caught me off guard on BOSS :D, good stuff.

Submitted(+1)
shh no spoilers 😂
Submitted(+1)

Oh boy i love the harmony and rythm but the mix is destroying a bit your music, like too much saturation overall.

Its very original in rythm, Boss was the best track ;)

Developer

Yeah, I forgot I had a filter on during the mix, but it is what it is. Thanks for the critique!

Submitted(+1)

The drums and overall rhythmic feel of everything is great. The beginning of "BOSS" sounds awesome and really stood out. Very fun listen!

Developer

I appreciate it! 🌲
