Description
Genre is mixed, but heavy use of orchestral plugins. Inspiration from Spiritfarer, Ghibli films, and Celeste. Created in Logic Pro.

Imagine a Home: in the first level, May's imaginary friend escapes outside. May has to use her imagination to solve puzzles and unlock the front door.

In The City: May explores the bustling city, using her powers of imagination to find clues to where her imaginary friend went. She eventually puts all the clues together and creates a rocket, and takes off into space to find her friend.

Floating In Space: May has to navigate and field of asteroids and land on the moon, only to find her imaginary friend is already taking off back to the earth. Sad, she takes back off.

By The Ocean: After missing her landing at home, she crashes into the nearby ocean and begins to sink. She finds the other rocket, and begins to solve puzzles and follow clues until she finally finds her imaginary friend.

Message from the artist
The music styles in this project are a little out of my normal style, and it was fun to explore some new ideas. I also wanted to emulate the theme of the game by leaving in flaws and timing, as the music is an extension of the girls imagination and therefore not perfect.

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
When looking at the picture and theme, I thought of a game where a girl creates her own worlds. The outline of a mother-like figure in the center led me to the idea that she could be using her imagination to cope with loss, and so the search for imaginary friend is a sort of metaphor for searching her lost mother.

The fact that you kept the same instrumentarium throughout all tracks is a great idea to make it a whole! Nice submission!

yet another great entry!! this one specifically reminded me of A hat in time a little bit, as well as celeste. really nice work! the mixing is a little off in places, but otherwise it’s a really solid track!

I absolutely loved your music, it sounds so magical and whimsical! It totally has that ghibli charm

My favorite track has to be "By The Ocean" with its blend of synths and orchestra. Great soundtrack!

Very nice!

A very pleasant listen! Always love hearing a vibraslap.

"Floating in Space" was particularly lovely. The disparate flutes really capture a floaty vibe. Great work!

Excellent job! Very good work on the arrangements, I enjoyed a lot that mix of genres, very well excecuted. The pedal note of the piano in "Imagine A World" worked great, its an inmersive listening. Nice to read (and hear) Celeste as your inspiration, it's a huge inspiration for me too :)

These are some really peaceful melodies! I especially like the "Floating In Space" track with its spacey atmosphere. Thank you for sharing this!

Love all of these! Something I would play in the background to vibe to. The harmony is also really nice. In The City is prolly my fav!

All of them are great. Love the instrument choices and the slower tempo makes them super easy and relaxing to listen to. Great stuff, I'll be checking out the others you have on soundcloud too.

Tu duh. Tu duh. Tu duh. doo

Imagine A Home is both big and cozy at the same time.

In The City sounds very nice in the beginning, and then - Aaaaaaaaaaaaah DRUMS! Adds to the tempo nicely)

Floating In Space - Koto (it's koto, right?) and flute in outer space... I wanted to be an astronaut for a while)

By The Ocean - Beautiful, majestic in the beginning and after a second of cuteness it's great again!

You've got a great soundtrack)

Imagine a Home: the minor 7th interval with sparse notes in between is instantly compelling. I love the winds peppering in slowly. It's vague, ungrounded, yet clearly leading towards something. There are a few issues with quantization, and I'm only being picky about that because of the quality of the composition!

In the City: when making comments for these jams, I always caution against looping things and simply adding other instruments or lines over time-- it can easily begin to sound really repetitive, to the point where even the added drums and percussion aren't quite enough to make this sound compelling. Maybe have things switch up when the drums come in? New chords, a new drone, or even just a transitional bar where we get away from the arpeggiated synth for a moment?

Floating in Space: the return of the sparse, fluttering woodwinds! These create a really compelling texture, but are somewhat grounded by these unchanging chords. This piece has good roots, and I would've loved to see what you could have done if you shifted away from the loop model.

By The Ocean: here, the grounded drone works really well. The melody being handed from instrument to instrument as the piece swells, and eventually some counterpoint, combined with this lovely modal harmony, is pretty divine. You clearly have a knack for building tension!

In all, I'm impressed by your opening and closing tracks the most. Good job, and keep writing!

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!

I love when the strings and winds come in at 2:33 in Imagine a Home. It's just a simple little piece until that moment hits and all of a sudden I'm flooded with emotion.

I can definitely hear the inspiration from Celeste in In the City and Floating in Space. So many elements blended together so well to represent all that is going on.

I love you interpretation of the theme, and for these not being your usual style, you did a great job at creating music that really fits the game!
