- This was a very fun and addicting game. While I was very good at playing this, I brought help. Someone who needs the practice of the game. I watched them play to get feedback; 1. Words: When creatures are to close to one another the words look jumbled and are hard to read as they flicker over one another. When they stack near your character it gets even worse. 2. The font could use with option types. It's very small and hard to read d and e. Larger text may fix this. 3. Difficulty, for people with issues or learning the difficulty jumps up very fast which may feel discouraging, adding a scale for difficulty or have a casual mode for those who really want to just have practice. 4. Audio; always a hard task, the music is calming and the sound choice is good, adding some alternate sounds to the spells or having some different spells can mix up the sound as it gets very repetitive. Overall the game is very well done, the visual are adorable and easy to took at. The concept is clean and enjoyable. The educational part if always a great route but remember children and people learning will look forward to this type of game to it's always good to have them help test to gather that data to support them on their journey of learning. I used my Niece to help get some of the feedback, she really enjoy the game but ended up frustrated that she couldn't score over 20 without getting overwhelmed and asked if there was an easier mode. I told her you were still working on the game and she looks very forward to seeing it come out. If you haven't seen type racer, it has gradual difficulties if you need some ideas. Having different options for vocabulary types, or word length could help adjust the game to a good practice and study for what people want to learn.

Yes
Summarise your game!
Type to Fight is an educational game that lets you practice touch typing the fun way.
A confused wizard forgot all his spells. Can you help him fight the enemies by typing out the magic words?
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The confused wizard is helpless in a world overrun by enemies. The player has to step in to act as a weapon utilizing their knowledge and muscle memory.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The whole game is controlled by inputting words with your keyboard. If nothing happens when you type, the game probably lost focus. Clicking on it again should fix this.

Hay man, great game. I was thinking for a while to make something similar, so if you are planing to expand the idea i will be happy to help!
Play twice and still got 63 scores. Guess I am not a good typer. Anyway, the graphic is very cute, and the game is extremely serviceable as a typing game. The difficulty goes up quite quickly but is fair enough too, well done!
Not much to criticise really, it's really difficult elevate a typing game as it's quite a solve genre, but I guess with this art style, you could probably allow character movement like how the textorcist does it (it's one of my all time favorite). I would wish someone can add some light to this genre and make new good games! But I digress.
Anyway, this is a very solid game! Well done!
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions! I wasn't sure how movement could be done in a sensible way, I will have a look into Textorcist :)
Great job, very clean and simple in it's presentation makes it easy to just jump in and go.
Very smart with the use of typing too, really lights that competitive nature in the player with a skill that everyone has at some level.
Government is hard to type , fun game :D
This was enjoyable! Typing to start sets the stage, and what follows when things begin appearing is intuitive. The visuals are clear and fun, too. Difficulty seemed to escalate rapidly in the mid-to-high 40s...I noticed your comments on this in replies to other posts - makes perfect sense. (On my end I simply need to improve my typing speed, haha)
Fun as a stand-alone creation, though I'm definitely interested in seeing where you might take it if you expand on the concept - well done!
I like typing games, so naturally I liked this game aswell!
Love it!!
I enjoy this game so much it is a unique game that promotes improving typing skills. It is an educational game
to play and challenge oneself. Thank you for this fun game!
I am a terrible typist (score 39), so I can’t exactly comment on the difficulty, though I did think it was a bit sudden of an increase. But the rest of the game is incredibly well-done, including the enemy targeting, which I can see being somewhat controversial, encouraging the player to look up from the keyboard. Good job!
That's not bad at all :D Because of the time limitation of the jam I went with a rather simple progression model. But yes, it is not well suited for actual training. I will work on this soon!
Awesome idea, love typing games, wish there was more games like this.
This game rocks. It goes so hard, the game feel is really good, the difficulty scaling is great, I got to score 102, I wish it was a bit more clear what my 'current target' was. I think the overlapping words was good, as a difficulty check, properly making the decision of what words to spell to make others easier to see was an interesting emergent mechanic. I wish I was able to see the health of my wizard, but the simplicty of this game really shines!
Thank you for the kind feedback :) I ran out of time for more polishing like a health indicator but I will continue to work on this after the jam!
I really enjoyed this. It definitely piles on after about 40 words but a neat concept none the less.

Really captures the feeling of trying to type something but being overwhelmed by an onslaught of words. Simple and fun! Pretty sprites!
I like the way the wizard cast spells as you type, it gives instant feedback and it feels good
Cute, simple, and a great typing challenge! I thought it was gonna be too easy but it ramps up really quickly and I appreciate that.
Nice art and engaging gameplay!
The particles and sound effects for the lightning are gorgeous, and very fun as well. Losing and then messing up typing the restart menu is so soul crushing lmao.
I got 45, and it seemed impossible to pass through that - I just can’t type fast enough. Fun, addicting, and a nice implementation of the theme :)
This was good fun! A great entry into the typing game category!
I did have some scaling(?) issues though:
Hopefully something easy to fix!
Thanks for the feedback. How did you manage to get the larger window?
So far, I did not look into scaling but rather have the game start in a fixed, non-resizable window. I did see this happen when opening the page on my phone though.
Anyway, I will have a look into this, hopefully before the jam ends :)
No worries! I didn't do anything specific to be honest, that's just how it was.
I have a 4k screen so it might just be something that happens at higher resolution.
I fixed this for now by preventing the scaling. Probably doesn't fully accommodate to large screens, but at least enemies are not spawning way outside the map anymore.
great game, its the most fun i had while trying to type fast. would happily use it to practise :)
