- Shredding Star is a really fun game! Let me list all of the things that are great about this game: The Mechanics The Artwork The Sfx The Vfx The Menus The Idea The Theme There is so much that I love about this game. I love the momentum mechanics, and how they are implemented. It is just hard enough to be challenging! You really nailed the momentum feeling, while still giving us the ability to manipulate the momentum enough to have agency. The artwork is a little bit minimalistic / pixel and I love it. It's perfect for what we're doing in the game. Very polished! The audio is good. I'm not a sound engineer, so I can't give you detailed feedback on it, but I will tell you as an avid video game player, your work did not go unappreciated; great work! I think the Menu layout and design were really well thought out and fun to use. It was novel and creative! It feels good, so great job! You are the weapon! Definitely on point with the theme itself, no question there. Your GDD has all the info I would hope to see in this game. I love that you have a Development Timeline. It shows me what you wanted to complete, what you canceled, and what you tried to complete. The only thing I would suggest; adding additional boss enemies and additional abilities for the main character. The momentum is fun, but adding additional abilities that can be upgraded into or picked up would add additional layers to the game. This game was a lot of fun, very polished, and fit the theme perfectly! Excellent job!

Summarise your game!
An arcade bullet-hell with in-depth movement, where you control a destructive saw blade gliding along smooth hills to gain speed and height!
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The player controls a sawblade, which is the weapon itself, destroying enemies as it touches them.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I'm particularly proud of the UI and visual design of the game, but I struggled a bit with audio - especially getting volume levels consistent and correct. Feedback on sounds, sound design, and music is very appreciated.

Nice theme interpretation and game idea. It so happened that I saw similar gameplay in another game but in your case you add extra features like dashing, limiting the area and giving second chances with HP which is super cool and I think is the best decision. The next thing I want to mention is UI. You are absolutely right of being proud of it, its amazing. Probably the best UI I've seen out of all games that I played for this jam. Its simple, readable and yet interesting & fitting. Everything is so smooth and well designed + all the transitions. Can go long with the praises. Really awesome work with the game. Can't wait to see what other UI/UX you will make in future.
Awesome game! The UI is super efficient and nice to look at. The gameplay is great too. There is good feedback when you hit an enemy, and the dash giving you invulnerability was a really good design choice in my opinion. The gameplay is fun and greatly designed to make you want to play more. I saw people posting their scores on the discord yesterday, so I decided to post mine. Great job on your game!

Yooo, nice score! Thanks for sharing! I’m working on a patch for after the jam, so if you’ve got any issues or recommendations I’d love to hear them!
I only did 3 rounds yesterday, and they all went flawlessly. I'll probably do some more runs today and let you know if I encounter any issues!
There's a lot I really like about this. The menus are SUPER well done, with great transitions and cool scrolling text. The music is very good and the sound effects are satisfying to listen to!.
The graphics were smartly done in a way that you can always make out the most important stuff on screen, which is super important for a bullet hell-esque game like this.
The tutorial is very clear and the gameplay is super addicting. The dashing is really satisfying to use, both to propel yourself forward or to get an instant turn back, and the invencibility it provides certainly helps. Also, the bullet the enemy shot getting dissolved as the enemy dies is a very nice and appreciated touch.
The game is hard enough to be tricky, but not hard in a way that's rage inducing. It's a very tightly polished experience. I really enjoyed it!
It’s so cool to see people notice these small things, thank you so much for the detailed feedback! Gonna try and expand on this idea if possible, and hopefully make it even more polished and enjoyable.
This game is freaking awesome! I'm terrible at these kinds of games, but it is so freaking stylish. Love the art and music and sounds fx. The ripping and motor of the Star is just awesome! Music is a banger and the UI? The UI is crazy good! I need to be taking notes from all these good games. Great job all around!
I’m glad you liked it! The idea behind the slow acceleration is that you use dashing and bounce off the wall to go back and forth, but the acceleration could definitely be tuned up a bit without really hurting anything, and it would probably help the game feel. Thanks for the feedback!
i love the wave transitions! music is nice too :D those ones flying are hard to catch when there's just 1-2 of them xD well done!
great game, good balance and the floor changing is amazing, keep the good work <3
great game! i picked up the gameplay quite quickly but i was quite bad at it at first! gunna keep playing because its a blast. the SFX and UI design are top notch! good job!
An amazing easy to learn hard to master game where you get to jump around as a chainsaw wheel. What more could one want?
The only thing I could recomend is adding some pitch variation to the "destruction" sound, but other then that sound design was top notch.
Yeah that saw blade sound effect can get a bit grating, I think. Thanks for the feedback!
This game is unbelievable. Dune meets arcade score chaser is inspired. The game is juicy and the combat/movement is so satisfying. Using your dash to mow down a line of flying enemies or plummeting into a downward full of ground enemies is orgasmic. Great polish, great concept, great gameplay, my favorite so far. Great work!
Really polished and fun spin on a well known idea. Plays well and I really like the addition of flying enemies and the map morphing after each stage!
Wow! I have to agree with everyone else here, very polished, love the UI and the slopes changing. When I started playing the sound really caught my attention, it really improves the sense of the player being a weapon. Changing direction also sounds very good and overall it really makes you feel like a shredding star xD
Glad you liked the audio! I’ve been getting feedback from friends that it’s a bit loud by default, hopefully that wasn’t a big issue.
This game actually rules lol. Moving around is incredibly fun. It's already crazy polished. I love the UI design as well. Absolutely sick job, well done!
Really great game! It's super stylish and fun. It's the kind of game somebody could get sucked into and attempt to master for hours
Thank you so much! I was really looking to make something replayable so this is really relieving feedback.
The physics involved here are impressive! Love this game.
Wow this is super polished. And violent. I didn't think a Tiny Wings style game could be so intense but I was wrong! I love the start where the slopes appear from flat ground, it really feels like "uh oh here we go" kind of moment, and all your UI is just... So professional, dang!
It’s so cool that you mention the wave start, that’s exactly the feeling I was looking to make! Thanks for playing!
