  • Quite a dark and morbid tone! The idea of a progressive decay slowing tearing the house apart pairs well with the dour grey sprites. I'd love to know more about our murderer and his thoughts and motives! Great work for a jam game.

Very strong art and music, I liked the music it being partially hidden by the low rumbling. The gameplay itself was pretty straightforward but more than made up for by the atmosphere, loved the house decaying over time. Unsettling in a way that isn't easy to accomplish in a short pixel art game.

Thank you for playing and the kind words.

I like how the house slowly deteriorates and corrupted over time as the player character gets closer to do something dark...real dark.

Developer

Thank you for checking the game out.

I really liked your project! Especially the style, graphics. sounds and the idea itself. From the wishes I can only say that I would like to hear the background music a little louder, it's cool. Thank you, I have a great time)

I appreciate the feedback and thank you for playing.

This was very nice I really enjoyed the style and the environment! I didn't understand the story exactly. But it was a really good game!

Developer

Thank you for playing and glad you liked the style.

Nice! I don't really know If I got the story (I guess it is supposed to be cryptic), but the vibes of growing decay worked on me!

Developer (1 edit)

The story is supposed to be a little open ended so it can be weird to understand, I appreciate the feedback and thank your for checking it out.

Wow, the atmosphere is amazing and the sound ambience is giving me the creeps. Good job!

Very nice, I like the atmosphere and everything! It was cool how it slowly unraveled and the tension slowly built.

Thank you, glad you liked it.

Very dark in theme, which is a welcome change from what else I've played so far, including my own entry! Not very much to it, but the repeating footsteps as the house gets worse and worse is surprisingly effective... and no jump scares, either! Always a good thing.

Thank you for the kind words and glad you enjoyed.

Great game! I like how it gets progressively more corrupted the further in the game you go :)

Really liked the music and changes in the game enviroment. Nice job!
Is there a specific reason to make player press E to move between locations?

Developer

Thank you for checking it out, there wasn't any specific reason to use E, just the default key most games use for 'Interact' so I went with that.

Submitted(+1)

If there is no mechanical reasons, I would reccommend considering automatic transition between locations when character moves out of screen (for minimizing player's clicks and for being more intuitive) Just opinion :)
Thanks for the experience!

This game was chilling not just because it was scary but because it made me uncomfortable, the entire game had me creeped out, especially when you go into the basement. The environment getting worse over time was a nice touch too. Overall a very good game.

that music is unsettling, is it being played backwards? very atmospheric game, I was waiting for a jump scare when I went into the basement.

Wow, really loved this one! The sound design is so unsettling, and the slow deterioration of the house as you circle through it was effectively creepy. Great work!

Thank you for playing.

Oh man I'm liking this!  I love the grayscale pixel art.  Has a little bit of a dark Maniac Mansion vibe!  Definitely circling back to play more of this!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed, thank you for checking it out.

Very good! We made very similar games!

Try my game, it has the same viewpoint and a flashlight, but you have to find it! :-)

I like the vibes it gives of, really cool. The music kind of reminds me of bioshock. I just have one question when you go to the kitchen everything is dark. Is that what its supposed to do??

Developer

Try staying still when you enter a room or exit a hall, it's a issue with the collision detection (which I missed before uploading), If you get stuck you can reload the scene by pressing R to try again.

Submitted

Thank you I will try that

I was bit iffy about the choice to make is so that player can't go back to the previous room through left side, but tbh it grew on me. The looping and all, I think it's choice that makes the experience more spiraling. Atmosphere was nice, super vibed how things progressed, maybe I wished it to become even more fucked up, but that's just me. On top of it I guess the mystery of the story is good, left me questioning the reliability of the player character, as well as the competency of local police xD

Good work on this! ^^

Developer(+1)

The idea of not letting the player go back to previous room was to put an emphasis on the 'destined' part of name, as the route you go down is destined and there is no getting or coming back from it, also it made the work a lot easier for me so that was a big part as well lol, Thank you for the comment and glad you enjoyed it.
