Exceptionally polished. Definitely a game I'd play if it were developed further!
Awesome work. Story was great, pixel art was perfect and the voice acting was a great touch!
I like the story and the art here. Really interesting.
Really good. Voice acting was amazing and the story was great. Your art assets were superb! Btw there is a bug in the end where I can click the bottle over and over to keep the fight going forever.
Really enjoyable experience all around. Loved immersing myself in this~
Holy hell the production value in this, music / sound design / voice acting was top notch. Like nothing much else I can say, amazing job, it was a enjoyable experience.
The work on the story and dialogues is insane, you’ve really managed your time and organization, congratulations to the team! Everything that goes to make up this kind of game is there, so you can be proud (and finally get some sleep!).
Wow, kudos to the writer - as huge fan of crime novels myself, dialog was so on point. Incredible how it’s all made in one week!
Your game is made in best traditions of 90s' adventure games, a spectacular job! An atmosphere of Victorian era is overwhelming, and lore keeps player excited throughout the game, even hinting for a potential sequel.
Although game is a bit gory for my taste, the story demands that.
A masterful entry… truly! While I still have not fully finished the game yet, even as it stands, I would think price well paid had I spent a few dollars on this work! The art, writing, sound, and voice acting were excellent, especially for a game made in 7 days!
If my arm was twisted, there may be very small things I could point out as maybe needing a little work, but, again, for 7 days, anything I could point out would be a petty nitpick. So, ultimately, I have nothing.
I actually shared this game with a couple friends!
Amazing work! And if you wish to watch some internet rando play your game once more, here’s a link to my stream of the game!
Thank you for your kindness. We enjoyed watching you, you are a very cool guy!
Thank you very much for the appreciation!
The audio work from the voice direction to the music was top notch, I am amazed by what was accomplished in 7 days.
The sound design here was superb, and voice acting oh man, it was just amazing. My only gripe was at the end with the butcher scene, where the pointer collider was so small that i had to restart many times to precisely find those objects.
But overall, this was very quality product, so much quality and story in a week!
Really liked the aesthetic of the game and voice acting. Made me go wow in multiple moments!
Some moments I got a little lost with some genders in the dialog that didn't match the gender in the voice acting, but it's a minor thing. :)
Overall, a great game!
Sheila Watson disguise herself as a young gentleman to be able to move around freely and ask questions.
This was so much fun! I appreciated the ability to reload the final fight because guessing what I could interact with VS what I couldn't was a tad difficult (but it's a point and click bossfight so it kinda goes with the territory)
The voice actors and writing were on point, the characters felt like complex people, even if you only get a glimpse of them. I really did enjoy our protagonist as well.
The aesthetic is absolutely on point, as usual with your games if I'm honest.
The only real issue I could point out is the sound design. The sounds are good, but some of the musics don't loop and the transitions can be pretty jarring? But that's really nitpicking.
I guess you played the web version. Unfortunately we discovered in testing that some of the music don't loop properly on some browsers. @hankworx created a very clever system that is similar to the SCUMM sound MUSE system with different channels being played in different ways based on the situation. I recommend to try the DOWNLOADABLE version if possible, that one should have no sound issue. Thanks.
Ah that makes sense! I'll download it and give it a try after lunch!
Updated my rating as the downloaded version did fix my one sound issue entirely!
Thanks for giving it another go! :)
It's really good so absolutely worth it!
I didn't manage to get to the ending but this was really impressively put together. The atmosphere was especially well done!
Great game! Amazing work with an entire song made for this? What a banger game and had fun playing this one, hats off to the team who worked on this!
For the last part it was a bit non-intuitive on what items to click on and in which sequence. I guess it does add to the chaos of the situation like in real life not knowing what to do and trying to grab anything on hand.
Made at a high level and with good voice acting. How did you manage to do so much in a week?
Hi, I believe there are three key reasons we managed to pull this off:
To sum it up, my recommendations are:
And a note I feel is worth adding and absolutely relevant to the question: Duck's vision for this project was incredibly clear from the start.
Can't believe this was done in just 7 days! It even has voice acting. Crazy good work!
Thank you!
We where in 3 however, It was easier to divide tasks. Furthermore duck and Hank are work machine 😂
They really must be! I'm impressed!
This is super polished, especially for a jam game! Good job!
This game is an absolute masterpiece, this game has to be the best one in this jam, the only thing that I didn't like is the rain it's a bit too big.
