I think this game is pretty good I just have one minor thing to ask what is stopping the player from just running away the entire time like just being in dash mode and sprinting away until the timer is out. but other than that this game is really well made I hope to see an update on this game.

Your conscience. To be honest we planned to limit the play space or add a really fast enemy you would need to outdamage but didn't have the time to properly implement them

Super fun, I could play this for a while! The only thing I would say was that I didn't totally understand what the cards did, so maybe a little more description on them would be good. But other than that, super satisfying and the music fit the vibe well. I would pay for a fleshed out version of this on Steam if you want to take it further.

The game is very fun. The idea is also very good. I also like the curtscene at the start. It was a nice feature to have an enemy that can distrupt the rythm. having the numbers increase was also good. And the ability to remove cards is a good addition to the genre.Even though it would waste a turn removign a useless skill woudl help overall dps. Nice descision. If i had to pick holes, which i don't have to but i will anyway.

I personally found the game a bit too easy. It is good that we are using a deck, it add a challenge. but that challege goes away since we can asily outrun every creature in the game. I mean since we have a random chance of attack with each shuffle it does make sense to have the player be the fastest there is but after a while ı didn't even bother shooting them i just started running in a straight line and ı was pretty much immortal. 

Also killing is too slow. Once again it is because we have a random chance of attack and that feature is fine but it also feels kind of limiting. I believe in these kind of games the satisfaction comes from killing and getting upgades. If all ı have to do is run in a horizontal line it gets old quite fast.

Maybe make the map smaller so that the player cant run forever since the number of "skelebones"(yes i named them) will keep increasing. Other than that more playtests would show what is lacking and what is too much. There are some good games on steam you guys can stea- ahem- insipre from. personally ı like soulstone survivors in the new entries. Its upgrade system was nice. havent played for a while so not sure.

Sorry for the long comment. TLDR: It is a good game with a potential. Was a bit easy for me, and "Skelebones". thats all.

Might just steal the skelename tbh. We've actually considered limiting the arena but that would require tons of testing we didn't have time for.  To give you some perspective: we had like 50 card ideas and only managed to implement 20 something due to slight overscoping .

You can use the name as you please. although check if it exists somewhere else. Also ı can relate ı also scoped my game down quite a lot for the jam. actually i scoped it down so much that it became a prototype. I think it is already amazing to do this much in a week. My comment far more of a advice/suggestions for future rather than what was missing tbh. I think the game is good and it is quite addicting. i forgot the timer while i was playing.

As part of the game jam, we intentionally made the game easy. Based on our extensive experience, we believe that making the game accessible is paramount. It is preferable to err on the side of making the game too easy rather than too difficult and inaccessible. Due to the game being heavily overscoped, we had limited time for testing. In order to expedite the closure of the game loop, we implemented a timer, which I admit wasn’t ideal. Our original plan was to have multiple levels with varying enemy and card pools, but we’ve run out of time.

Yeah ı can understand that. better to have a game that can be played over a game that no one can play. I seriously think it is a good game considering the limited time. I think timer itself is good, i actually forgot the timer while i was playing. My comment was more of a suggestions for the future updates. I think this game has that much potential. Hope you guys continue with it.

It is a bit busted. I would maybe turn it down but some builds tend to use dash to compensate for low movement speed so it's kind of a crutch at this point

Very cool and innovative idea! I especially love the intro and the coding part. Sadly I wasn't able to quite get the mechanics and how to play the game so I wish there's a tutorial at the beginning. Nevertheless, still a great game:)

Glad you enjoyed the intro, it suffered so much when it got ported to URP and then webgl! You walk around with wasd and shift modes with spacebar. The rest of the game kinda plays itself you just have to aim with the mouse

Superb sound design! A little bit easy, encountered a bug with the explosive bullet that caused the damage numbers to not disappear. Would love to see concept expanded for sure!

Oh yeah, explosions are notoriously buggy and a bit OP. Rebalancing the game after the jam for sure.

We had like 50 cards planned but didn't have the time to implement them all.

It was surprisingly simple actually, fmod basically sends out events for every beat that is automatically detected.
