What do you like about your game?
This game put me to the test. I loved that I was able (I hope) to convey the creepy/confusing/disturbing atmosphere, main feature of any psychological horror, without resulting into a pure scary horror. I can say that I feel quite proud (and exhausted) of all my work. Also Acerola's videos motivated me to dive deeper into shaders, so I wrote a custom one that was very helpful in order to setup all the environment correctly. Good luck to everyone! :3

The game itself was very pleasing to look at and did give a creepy atmospheric vibe(i like the blue screen computer lowkey that would scare me most irl lol) I could not for the life of me get past the minigame but thats just a skill issue on my part even after reading the notes(i will maybe try and do so at a later date)

Developer

Hi, thank you so much for playing my game and giving me some feedback. I'm sorry you found the minigame part too difficult, I will work on making it way more enjoyable. Also, I agree with you,  blue screen puters are always very scary irl :33

Thank you so much again for trying it out! <33333

Maximum aberrant! Game felt super polished and nailed the atmosphere with the abstract setting. I really liked the occlusion-spawn-in/out mechanic. The calm down minigame was really well done too. Need to recalibrate my rating-o-meter.

Developer(+1)

Hahahaha, thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the overall atmosphere, it took me a while to come out with it, it really means a lot to me <33333

That was awesome! The cinematics, sound effects, and atmosphere are very well done. The only suggestion I would have is to make it more clear you have to keep looking around the shelf, because once I saw nothing on it, I thought that I needed to find something in the dark, and it took me a while to notice the milk.

I really liked the little 2D minigame. It feels really satisfying when you get some speed and do these big jumps. The ending of the game is great. I didn't expect that at all and it surprised me in a very good way. Well done!

Developer

Hi, I agree with you, some things are quite difficult to spot, I could've added some simple audio clues for stuff like that, but I didn't have much time to do so. I'm glad you enjoyed the minigame and the overall atmosphere of the game. Thank you so much for playing and giving me some feedback, I appreciate it sooo much <33333

The graphics and animation were top notch. Brilliant little story as well. I did get stuck in the minigame, but reading the tips on the Game Page, helped me out.  Great Game !

Developer

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback, I'm glad you found helpful the tips on the game's page and that you enjoyed the game overall. Thank you so much again for giving me your opinion on it <3333

man i suck at controlling my anxiety xd.

wow, this was really polished and well-crafted! you really nailed creating an unsettling atmosphere that compliments our unreliable narrator/main character's struggles, its very nice! the cutscenes are so well animated, the slow nature of all the movements creates a nice level of anxiety to each motion! the choice of portraying the environment through selective pieces of objects and people in the room really works out well here! it both functions as a way to composite scenes in both an easy to understand way (which helps maintain the flow/pace of the story) and allowed you to create some really nice narrative transitions as well (notably after you look at the fridge and when you go through the product shelf), really great stuff! there's just a lot of really good visual ideas and direction here, from the use of post processing to shift the tone, the flickering moments, and even the change in UI bubbles, all of it culminates together to create an engaging and immersive story!

im not sure if it was a skill issue here on my part, but the anxiety minigame was pretty hard for me xd. kind of reminds of Tiny Wings, an old mobile game, though the hills/slopes are smaller here making the window for successfully sloping down pretty tight. though gravity feels lighter than that game, so it takes less time to gain height, but still took me a couple of tries before i can get it, glad i did though because the conclusion was worth it! also one last nitpick, very minor, i read the vibe of the main character as someone who feels a little delirious and loopy, which shows in a lot of the cutscenes where their head and body motions are slow, but the head bob while walking was pretty fast and rapid which made the vibe feel more fidgety instead, which is a slight difference but noticeable (an example of this is in the top right gif where you're collecting the milk). slower head bobs may have matched the character's mental state a bit more, but this is just an opinion and small nitpick, the overall vibe is still excellently captured in the of the game!

this was an incredibly told and directed story! i can feel the amount of thought and effort that came to creating this, great work!

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you so much for your detailed feedback <3

I'm glad you liked the overall atmosphere and that you catched even the little details. About the head bob, it's directly generated from the walk animations, and I wanted to match those with the actual walk velocity, so I had to speed up the original animation to do so. I also noticed that it didn't fit quite well the overall mood, but I didn't have much time to fix the problem, so I just ramped down the walk velocity as much as I could. The minigame actually reminded a lot of people of Tiny Wings, and I'm happy about this. I know it is quite difficult, but again, I focused too much on polishing the art and the overall interactions, and had no time to really balance it as much as I wanted.

Again, I'm very happy you enjoyed it, this comments help my self-esteem a lot, thank you so much, good luck with the jam <3333

Very nice visuals and animation. Nice little story. The minigame was very confusing, so I had to go to the main page to check what was missing. Also very creepy and nice usage of audio and lights. The change between what was remembered and what really happened was very well implemented.

Developer

Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed my game, I went for a much shorter playtime but a much more polished experience. I hope the minigame didn't ruin the overall experience that much. I will check you game as soon as possible <33333

Great job with the visual effects and the overall presentation, it was chilling watching things shift and walking through the darkness to different patches of light. The game with the hills reminded me of this old game Tiny Wings I used to play all the time!

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback. I'm glad you liked the atmosphere of the game, someone else also mentioned that the waves part reminded them of Tiny Wings. I'm glad I brought you back that memories!

I will check your game as well as soon as possible <3333

Tiny wings is GOATed. Also, awesome :) excited to hear what you think.

Developer

Sorry for the wait, I finally found time to check your game, Tiny Wings may be GOATed, but you ARE the GOAT, crazy work you did, amazing <3333

This is great! I don't know how it happened that I left the shelf and I kept walking and when I turned back it was gone. I was stuck in eternal darkness but I restarted and played the game normally.

Developer

Hi, weird bug, never happened to me, I will playtest some more in order to replicate it and fix it. I'm glad you were able to resolve it <333

Thank you so much for your feedback <33

Wow. Just wow. But frankly I only guessed that I need to fly high after looking at screenshots. It's said : follow the flow. So I thought I needed to follow the line as closely as possible.

Developer (1 edit)

Hi, thank you for playing my game and giving me some feedback. Unfortunately I had no time to adjust the minigame and making it clearer for the player :((((. I'm planning on fixing it in the future, making it more enjoyable. Thanks again for your review and good luck, I'm glad you liked it regardless <33333

Very nice game. I wonder why cashier girl calls player a monster, is it a reference to A Clockwork Orange?  After beating the second stage I can see why,  only monster can beat the game;) Felt so hungry after play, need to buy some milk now.

Developer

Hahahahaha, it is indeed really difficult to beat the game, I will make sure to make it easier and more enjoyable in the future. I didn't even notice the similarities to A Clockwork Orange until now that you make me think about it, really cool, it fits a lot.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the insights.

Good luck with the jam <333333

The moral of the story is: "Always keep the track of food in the fridge, while working from home" :D

Cool game. SFX and animations is on level, but I personally missed some sound feedback from text. But I guess, I'm also got that part wrong in my game :\

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback, I was planning on adding some text display/skip sound, but I ran out of time and couldn't really implement it. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyways! Thanks for playing and letting me know your thoughts on it <333

This game is really interesting! The story was quite intriguing, and the atmosphere was cool! When I got to the velocity ball section, I had an issue: It was too easy to kill all of my velocity from slightly mistiming it. I think it would be nice if there was a bit more leeway to it :) The graphics are well done, especially with how everything looks like it's in a spotlight. Overall, this game, being a short experience, has well-done graphics and atmosphere, with a story properly tying it together, although it can be a bit punishing in one section. Nice Work!

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed it. During development, I was working on a game mechanic where the ball would receive a speed boost if it collided with the slope within a certain angle range, making it much easier to reach the top. I had to scrap it out tho as I didn't have much time. I will make sure to retouch that part in order to make it much more enjoyable!

Thank you so much for your feedback, it means a lot to me. Good luck and keep it up <33333

You're welcome! That sounds like a good idea, if you are planning on continuing this game, that would be a useful feature :) Thanks for responding!

I like how I can admire fridge from afar!

Amazing work on this! Really liked how you used the effects at your disposal to make it all feel progressively weird! I also failed victim to the mini game... I guess you click or press space to change direction of the ball? Managed a few nice jumps but then got in the valleys that took 30-40 seconds to build momentum.
Developer(+2)

Yep, when you press space/left click you apply a down force to the ball. I'm glad you enjoyed it, for more tips on the minigame check the game's page. Thank you so much for the kind words, the fridge looks very nice from the distance hahahaha.

Thank you again and good luck with your game mate <3333

an amazing game. Intuitive in use and that maintains the player's interest until the end.

Developer(+2)

Thank you for you feedback, I appreciate it so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game <3

An easy and enjoyable piece of game you have here. it's complacent because it doesn't expect much of the player else than following the hints.  But the turnaround that happens at the end, is a great twist,  a nice aberrative ending to an aberrant game! i loved the minigame for following the flow. it's well made. and it perfectly conveys I think your idea. I enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed my game and the final twist. I had time to play your game and rate it, but not to give some concrete feedback, as I'm currently busy (I shouldn't be replying here now). Later I will leave you a comment on your game.

(Spoiler: I loved it) <333

Made me want to play Minecraft again haha, It has a lot of charm, i enjoyed the animations, sounds, and story telling a great game.

The only issue I had was the minigame that you need to do to breath in and out it ended up making me get annoyed, cause I couldn't finish it. but after I finished the minigame it a was fun game, maybe work on the minigame to make abut more fun or even not as long. but overall a great fun little cube-style game. I enjoyed everything in it, story dialog, animations the walking animations and sound we NOICE :D

great job :D

Developer

Yeah, I had very limited time to balance and polish the gameplay, so it resulted a little bit on the harder wide, without giving that much of a clue to the player. I'm glad you still enjoyed the rest of the game :33333.

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words. Good luck with yours fellow minecraft player <33333

First of all I want to congratulate you, it is absolutely a good product that is quick to enjoy, which perfectly succeeds in the intention of creating discomfort but at the same time wanting to understand the story and where it wants to go. The game works very well from a narrative point of view and I think that by expanding it a little and better exploring some of its features, a good project could emerge.

The only negative note is the actual "gameplay" part, this gameplay which is reminiscent of Tiny Wings needs to be revised a bit, in itself it works, but the absence of feedback makes it all a bit frustrating in the long run, especially given that It's a part you have to get through, and it might take a little too long.

For the rest, I highly recommend the product, it is very beautiful, looks good and has excellent potential.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! I will definitely look forward to adjusting and polishing the gameplay section in order to make it more "user-friendly" and less frustrating. I'm glad you enjoyed the overall story and that it got you engaged!

Thank you so much again :3333

I like the animations and art you made in the earlier half. Not sure if it was just me, but I had no sound, and I feel sound would've done wonders here. As others have mentioned, the ball game wasn't as intuitive as it should've been, but very nice job overall.

Developer(+1)

Hi, it's strange you didn't hear any audio. You checked the volume slider in the options panel? If it doesn't work try to download it again if it's not a problem for you. I'd love if you could play it with sounds, as they really help to engage the player A LOT. I'm sorry and let me know if you manage to get it working! I'm glad you liked the rest tho <333333

Submitted(+1)

Ah I gave it another try and I must've had the volume too low! I heard it clearer when the music/sfx were max and my volume was also max haha. In perspective, my ears get blasted at this vol listening to music XD.  So it could be that they are relatively more quiet. The SFX are great , however, and I like the details you put in there. Imo they could all use a raise in volume so others don't miss it as well haha.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the feedbacks, it seems that my earphones are too loud and had to lower down the default volume by a lot when developing it. I'm glad you enjoyed it <333333

Submitted(+1)

I feel like the art style is not fit for this game but it is very original!

Developer

Hi, I'm glad you found the game original, I appreciate it so much! I went for a more low poly style in order to speed up the developing process of the game, as all the assets are self-made.

Thank you so much for your feedback and good luck, I will check your game as well in a moment <33333

I really like the analogy to schizophrenia/depression/low self-esteem that you gave to the game, and the truth is that the ball minigame is very satisfying once you master it.

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you so much you pointed out the analogy of the whole story, it is actually a mix of schizophrenia and depression that the main character is going through. I'm glad you enjoyed the minigame in the end. Thank you so much for this review, I'm really happy about it <33333
