One of my favorites so far, this was super polished! The music and sfx kept me engaged the whole time, the pacing felt super good, multiple endings in a legit narrative with backstory that wasn't forced. Excellent job!
Apparently I am really bad at keeping my marriage going...
What a game! Presentation is just amazing, it almost doesn't feel like a game and I'm really sitting there looking over my shoulder to see if someone is gonna come through the aisle.
I love multitasking in games! Having to juggle conversations while trying to always be prepared to get into airplane mode is really satisfying. I think you even lose some conversations if you don't respond in time.
The work part is really my cup of tea. Looking through the manual is really fun (it's really well made). Then combining that with keeping a relationship in the form of your wife really tops it (although I am really horrible at that part). Keeping track of everything is really fun.
Integrating controls into apps is such a good idea, with the options and help. Also the extra detail of the flashlight mode is really fun.
First playthrough I crashed the plane, but I already completed both "story missions" if you can call them that (wife and work). Second playthrough I completed both and didn't get my bar that full. This keeps the game from ending (unless there is an ending where you wait a few hours to land). This would be the only downside to this game.
All in all, great presentation, great gimmick. Ends the game while making me want more, which is always a good sign!
Yeah it's not a few hours but it goes on a timer, the plane lands on the ten minutes mark.
Very cool concept and really nice art! I love juggling between all the things going on and stuff unravels. Though I wished there was some quick way to land once everything's done and just waiting. I checked the archive in the meantime but I still had to wait awhile to finish.
Yeah it's a known problem, we were going in a different direction with the idea that the plane could land before you finished everything, but we had some really bad bugs with emojis and screen size once we posted on the page and we didn't manage to balance the text ratio timers or implement a skip flag. Maybe a skip to landing button would be fine.
Left On Read was great to play. I didn't know what to expect, but I had a great time with it! The premise was totally original, the story was funny, and the simple mechanics of flipping through apps and on/off airplane mode were immediately accessible and engaging. You guys did awesome!
Loved the way the story unraveled and the different endings/choices the player has! The concept was extremely unique, gameplay was fun (and kept me on my toes!), and the art was great!
Reminds me of my old boss always texting me even on my day off haha stressful. Great concept!
Just as stressful as actually flying, but with lots more legroom!
Finally remained married after 8 tries but got the powerplant exploded.... welp you win some and you lose some
( Game was well made & I was invested in the story and lore completely )
Thank you!
This was so good! The were lovely, and it was such a nice, succinct story. I found myself getting invested so quickly, and my heart rate would go up every time I heard the passenger wake up. I still miss my wife... (got divorced both play throughs).
To be honest, it's really difficult not to get divorced. No one got the secret ending yet, I think.
This was so original and enjoyable. A genius implementation of the mode theme!
It was very fun having a text based game that actually implemented some feeling of urgency and stress. Amazing all around. Nice art too.
A unique take on the theme and the narrative!
While the gameplay is fairly simple, it combines well with the story and adds some intensity with the passing attendant and the nosy passenger. The art and music add to the mood and the text convos are fun.
It was fun enough to play through twice, although I got divorced both times haha!
Great work on this, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I love how tense this game and I felt like it really hit the mark with the mode theme! My only critique is that some of the UI elements were hard to see/notice because of size.
Nice work!!
Yeah we discussed it but we put it very low in the priority list and there was no time at the end to fix them. I don't think we'll do a complete iteration of this cause the wife dialogue tree alone is a singularity but we might put a more classical dialogue box, shave the phone a bit to enlarge the chats and maybe put a notification box somewhere else to keep an eye on that. Thank you for the feedback!
Had me on the edge of seat, reading all the messages and having to reference the guide while avoiding being spotted. The narrative is funny too, great job.
Amazing artwork here! Oustanding job! The narrative is really good as well, and the music too! Loved it! I got divorced and blew up my power plant haha
This is an interesting take with applying airplane mode! Narrative-focused game is really rare to find here and I love how there's actually different endings. Great job!
That was a fun gameplay loop. I initially wondered why I would need to turn airplane mode off and then I suddenly got pulled into each storyline and had to keep checking my messages and work email. Really simulates the feeling of needing to check your phone quickly. Great job!
Such a nice idea and well executed! Good stuff.
Nice work! The music and graphics were cool. The texting selection buttons could be bigger and more readable, now they get a little lost on the side. Well done!
Help me out by rating my game here: Thanks!
