I liked the freedom of being able to create my own wheel of weapons and items. I filled it with all shotguns.
I kind of circumvented the entire wheel by doing that, but I think the concept is very strong.

player's weapon inventory is in a rotation represented by spinning wheel. Bosses has at least one attack that involves spinning

The controls feel super clean and the bosses feel fair. Patterns are recognizable and they arent too tanky compared to the player. Was fun to learn their patterns and developed a loadout to beat each one. (although that was normally all shotgun and a few heals haha). Great entry! If I had to nitpick, personally i felt it was hard to use weapons other then the shotgun due to the angles the smaller bosses would position themselves in, but i'm also not very good at contra style games so might just be me haha
I like it because it reminds me of the "contra", it's very cute <3
Top-notch game with an awesome presentation, sounds are amazing, the gameplay is tight and fun, patterns are well telegraphed. Everything just feels right. Stellar work devs!
Very glad to see the art is your own, as La Creatura is positively disgusting, as disgusting as it is hyped to be, so I was praying for it to have the look you wanted for it.
The wheel being of your design makes the wheel gimmick quite manageable and fun, out of all the ones I've played with such gimmicks, this is the one that gave me less friction in how I want my experience to be.
But the boss designs were a little weird next to each other, and I couldn't truly get the setting from them. Ninja girl in particular really looks lost here. 2nd Phase of La Creatura is terrible since you can't aim up or down in the game. Even a 45 degree angle would be be enough for at least the spread shooter to be more reliable against it.
I liked the idea of spinning inventory, gameplay is fun. Although it's is not my type of games, since i'm very bad at them, i mean i'm good at receiving all projectiles in my face. Didn't find any critical flaws. Gameplay is dynamic, controls are well made.
It's really cool how much attention was put to narrative here, gives every fight a real feeling of intrigue as you try to piece together how these completely different bosses mesh into the grander scope of your mission. The game's world is super cleanly presented with the art and music, and the boss design was really fun to get the hang of. Well with the exception of the robot's untelegraphed laser barrage, I'd always get blindsided by it because there's just no wind-up whatsoever. Had to stay at the very back for the entire fight just for that attack alone which made grenades absolutely useless. But the fact that I had to rework my strategy for a specific attack really shows the breadth of the boss design here so great work!
Good game. I have skill issues. I can't beat the first boss after so many tries.
Love the name of your game and thumbnail, its why I clicked it! Playing through your game felt very cozy. It reminded me of exploring flash games on newgrounds and also duck game. The wheel of weapon randomization is a great way to keep player approaches to combat fresh. Adding more over the top weapon variety to the wheel could be a good way to make the game more action packed.
Cool stuff. The random weapon switching is unique and a fun way to approach the 'spin'
great work on this! did a play through and fought each of the bosses. definitely engaging and fun though! would love to see more weapon options and things added for more customizable options. i do wish i could shoot whatever direction my mouse was pointing sometimes but i imagine that's just how you worked out the gameplay and balance.
Really liked the use of the theme here, the swaping weapons mechanic was really well implemented, and the art and boss design was great, If I have to say something is that maybe the bosses felt a bit to unpredictable at times and some attacks done at the same time were a bit difficult to dodge, maybe with less cooldown on the roll would be better, but anyways overall a great experience! Cheers :D
I really like the rotating weapons mechanic. The fact that the shooting direction is based on move direction took a bit to used to though (probably I'm used to play games that aim with mouse)
Well done and onboarding the game was straightforward. It has good and responsive controls.
Pixel games are not really my type, but your game seemed really well made. I also loved the different boss mechanics. Pretty consistent vibe all around. I think the weapon system was a bit overwhelming, as you get all these items right at the start. Well done, keep it up!
Would love it if you play and review my submission, thanks!
