How does your game fit the theme?
We decided to take the mythological theme of the descent into Underworlds as our hero Orpheus travels through dungeons and LITERALLY dive deeper into Underworlds.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

Nice game!
I like the idea and the artstyle, but I just literally couldn't get into the rhythm of the game :D
There seems to be a delay after the beat before the button press is valid. Maybe it's just me.
Graphics and audio are very nice, and for a rythm game, the music is really fitting. I did enjoy playing. I don't know if there is something wrong on my side or not, but it didn't matter if I pressed the keys rythmically or just spammed. Only after I've died I saw that parry wasn't implemented.
Thanks a lot for your feedback ! Glad you enjoyed the art direction and music. Also thanks for the feedback !
The game look really good. Even the menu transition felt great.
But I definitely am not one for rhythm games. It even took me a while to figure out it was a rhythm game. At first I just wanted to blame bad controls :D. So I didn't made it past the first enemy before rage quitting.
(Also I think the trigger point was offset to the beat, which didn't help my progress)
Hi ! Thanks a lot for giving the game a try ! Glad you enjoyed the feel !
I'm not really good enough of a gamer to do a rhythm game, but I love your interpretation of the theme and thought your game was really creative. Great work! :D
Thanks a lot for playing !
Unique artstyle.
I loved seeing a game with a similar structure as Crypt of the Necrodancer, although I found it hard to understand the mechanics in this case.
Congrats for the great work!
Could you give our game a try and rate please?
Thanks a lot for giving Katabasis a try ! I just tried your game ! :)
It's got a really interesting style! The 3D/2D artstyle is well done as well as the individual sprites. The atmosphere brought by the music and sound design made the whole thing quite enjoyable.
My main complaint would be the size of the level design, since there isn't any secondary objectives, any path that's not the main path ends up forcing you to go back to the start. Maybe something more linear or a screen-based level similar to Cadence of Hyrule could work out great °°
Hi !! Thanks a lot for you feedback ! It's very much appreciated ! Glad you enjoyed the style :)
awesome graphics and fun to play
It was a bit hard to understand. But it was unique especially for the jam. Good job!
Can you try and rate my game ?
Hey ! Thanks a lot for your support ! Sure why not, let me check this out ! :)
The music and art style are both fantastic and really unique!
Glad you liked it !
Wow, what a cool concept. I really like "Hades" and "Crypt of the Necrodancer", so this was a fun find for me. Finding where the beat fell was pretty difficult, and so sometimes I would just sit there until one of my inputs lined up and I could move/attack; after a few minutes I got better at it though. Also I was able to walk right past Cerberus for some reason.
I really liked the unique paper-cut-out look to the sprites, the music, and wholly cow, voice acting in a game jam game?! Great work.
I like the concept but the execution has some things lacking, like for instance latency test at the start a must have for most rhythm games also there are some problems with the level sprite and the grid getting offset when advancing to the next board.
Thank you for playing ! We'll give a look at all of that. Cheers !
Loved the narrator, music and art. As for controls its very janky. Also it doesn't fit the them.
Thanks for playing !
Thanks! I just wanted to add that the theme is respected on the second scene, we are going to dive deeper.
Furthermore, the myth of Orpheus is literally a journey to the underworld! Cheers!
The graphics on this really caught my eye, the 3D pixelated look is unique and interesting! It reminded me a lot of Crypt of the Necrodancer, although the attack mechanisms were hard to understand at first. Nice work!
Thanks a lot for playing, Crypt of the Necrodancer definitely was an inspiration, and really glad to learn you enjoyed the graphics. Cheers !
Really cool idea and theme. The controls did feel a little tricky. It seemed to get easier when I started releasing the buttons to the beat instead of pressing them. (I might just be bad though). Overall, very good for a week of development. Well done!
Thanks for playing our game. Glad to hear you enjoyed the idea and theme. Thanks for the reply concerning the game mechanics. :)
controls were difficult to learn but the graphics looked very cool along with the music!
Thanks you for playing ! Happy to know you enjoyed the graphics and music :)
Great work! I really enjoy the rhymth mechanics, although the controls did feel a bit sticky at times. Otherwise, this is really good! Great work
Thanks for the feed back ! Really nice of you to play ! Glad to know you enjoyed the mechanics
I really loved the rhythm based movement. The opening story was a nice touch.
Thank you for playing our game ! Really happy to know you like it.
fun game! the controls were a bit unresponsive though: either the game's ui does not give clear feedback, or the controls themselves need polishing.
but overall a good result for such a short time!
+i always appreciate ancient greek mythology hehe
one of my favourite themes
Hi ! Thanks so much for playing, glad to have your opinion concerning the controls. Really happy to know you enjoyed the theme :)
Supergreat what you have done in the week!
Sometimes the controls were a bit tricky, but all together very impressive! :D
Thank you for playing. Glad to hear you liked it! Thanks for your feedback concerning the controls. :)
