How does your game fit the theme?
The game has 2 States:
One is Calm State where you do simple life things such as breakfast with family,
Then when you finish your first quest of gathering logs from the woods and returning home,
Spoiler alert: don't read further if you plan to play :D

Things change drastically and the game enters the Storm State,
Which is about an evil kingdom releasing creatures and evil poisonous storm to the lands which disrupts everything.
Everything changes in this state, even player's hair color :D .

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Made by me:
All the code. (except cinemachine) (Quest system, leveling up, Stat enhancing and powering up, Day to Night shift unlocking abilities and more,)
Level design and cinematics are designed.
All Player Japanese Sound Effects are recorded.
Player sprite is from AI originally, but edited a lot with Krita and cut in to pieces for rigging.
All Player sprite parts and rigging, IK, geometry, weight brushing etc. and animations made.
Editing of sounds and musics done.
Lighting and Post processing (bloom, vignette) unfortunatelly webgl's build setting was not ultra hd so gamejam version of the game doesn't have these.

Used tools: Unity, Visual Studio, Blender, AudaCity, Krita ...

Not made by me:
Used Assets that have proper licence typeto use, credits for them are in the game description, and also exist as a code in the game files.

This one was fun to play! Animations are nice! Core gameplay is fun. With level up system and such. Glad you've made option to continue even if player died.

Some feedback:
- art style unconsistency is noticable
- hold mouse button to shoot gives more fun than click to shoot
- it's easy to skip an axe, which brought me to situation I didn't know how to chop trees

But it was fun and that's very important! Thank you!
Check Stormflow if you'll have some time!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the suggestions <3 I am aware of art style unconsistency I have searched for assets to fit all over the place but this was the best I could :D, I will try to build libraries for it, next time it will be better I hope.

Hold button is also recommended a lot, I noted.

Sorry for the axe :D , I replaced it 3-4 times, I guess I could have put one more in the entrance to the forest :D

Sure I check all commenter's games,

Submitted(+1)

It would be easier for father to give axe to the player, actually :)

Developer

Oh, never even thought about it, great idea :D

Developer

Thank you I am glad you enjoyed

Interesting game, very well done!

Developer

Thanks, I am glad you liked it

Impressive how much you were able to achieve in a week! The shooting got a little repetitive after a bit, it would have been nice to be able to hold a button to constantly fire.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback noted <3

Submitted

Hi, what button am I supposed to use to chop stuff if I don't have a mouse

Developer

F :D

Developer

At home in the beginning Tutorial says it, and when you enter a range of an intractable "F" should pop up normally :)

Submitted(+1)

ah ok thank you

Wow, what a tragic story, I didn't expect that twist so soon, good job!! I really enjoyed the game, it was a lot of fun destroying those little goblings for revenge. I would have liked that all the artstyle matched (the player was more like traditional 2d and other stuff was pixel art) but it's fine anyway

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, tried to match the art style but I guess I wasn't good enough, will try better next time :D

It's a cool game, and the Dragon Ball theme adds a special touch. Congratulations and good luck!

Developer

Thanks, to you too, I will try your game

Submitted(+1)

Played your game Really cool and fun game , cool pixel graphics

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I am glad you liked it

Quite enjoyed the twist, first thought I would just be lumberjack Goku lol. It was quite fun to play through good job!

Feedback:
- I took me about 4 refreshes to get the player walking, for some reason it just didn't work while other controls were working
- I would personally redo the keybinds and put the quest panel for example on Q or Tab.

Developer

Hey thanks for valuable feedback, appreciated it :D, your game's title seems verrry interestşng I will try right away.

As for the controls it happened to me too but it was very rare because I did play testing sooo much, if you see my player animator graph you would be laughing for too long I guess haha, it might be about that, when processor or animator couldn't cath the inputs and bools fast enough, just a guess I couldn't find the reason since it happened only twice to me in play testing many hours :D

Thanks for the suggestion about quest panel, Q and Tab both makes more sense then L :D

Submitted(+1)

Haha got very unlucky then! It wasn't a worry just thought I would mention it. You did a great job nevertheless :) thank you for trying and hopefully rating my game too!

Hee-ho. Super cool. Mega cool. Turbo cool. Thanks for great experience

I am glad you liked :D

What a twist.

Don't forget to play our game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2972786

Developer

Sure, I will

Good job! Here are my thoughts:

1) It would be nice if player could hold the mouse to spawn orbs rather than having to click.

2) There are too many enemies in the game...

3) Great work on the visuals! There was definitely a calm before something bad happened...

4) The "more blood" button is not working properly.

5) Nice feature to save your progress if you die.

6) Red enemies don't affect the counter.

7) I killed 50 enemies, but nothing happened :(

Developer

I am glad you played, thanks for your valuable feedback. I noted your feedback, it is very valuable.

actually it works after you complete the quest you can press 2 on keyboard and use the 2nd ability,
I just couldn't make the UI updating in time, so it was my bad, sorry, I mentioned in game description  about the stuation, I wish everyone was able to try the 2nd skill, it was actually pretty cool :(

Submitted

Ohhh, I did not understand that I should press 2...

Developer

Sorry about that, my bad, I couldn't prepare a tutorial for that part in the time limit.

Submitted(+1)

I liked the cutscene system and upgrading!! Also thought it was an interesting take on the theme. I defeated 50 of the rat enemies but finishing the quest didn't progress anything (and I didn't get any new abilities), so I think I might have been soft-locked! well done making it in a week either way (:

Developer

I am very glad you liked the cutscenes, they are also my favourite :D .
Oh sorry for the ability , actually you unlocked the ability, you could use it by pressing "2" on keyboard but I couldn't finish UI updating part in time, so it doesn't appear to be unlocked, my bad new ability pierce through enemies and have larger size and damage,

Developer

Oh, I remember your game it was awesome :D

Submitted(+1)

Pretty nice game , 8.5/10

Developer

Thanks, I am glad you liked it.

Submitted(+1)

Nice graphics, pretty polished. only complaint is the weird animations for player walking, its better then nothing but weird to look at.

7/10 :)

Developer

Haha you are right, I planned to make him walk in the beginning, but things happened and I decided him to float - fly instead :D

Submitted(+1)

Interesting game, I just don’t think you have the rights to use Goku :D

Developer(+1)

Do you mean licence wise? If so, I already credited the original Dragon Ball series, Akira Toriyama, and Toei animations, I think they wouldn't mind :D .  I am using it under the "fair use" policy.

Really intriguing change of genres, at first I was expecting an relaxing farming game, then suddenly we are into a kinda survivor-ish one. Kept me playing for a few minutes, but I wish some features were added, like an exp bar, and the hold button to shoot. Nonetheless, for a game jam, it is great and I hope you had fun making it!

Developer

I am very glad you liked and surprised to the change,  they were all on to-do list but couldn't make it in time, I worked even 15 hours some days but instead of main gameplay I spent too much time with details, that is my bad. Even Kamehameha was ready and I could just add it in an hour at most, sorry about my unfortunate time management skills :/ , will try better next time.

Submitted

At the start the game was very funny, I didn't expect Goku to be in this game jam, but it was actually a very cool game, congrats!

Developer

Thank you, I would make it all about farming but there needed to be a storm for the gamejam theme :D ,  I actually started to think  that my calm phase was too long, after playing a lot of gamejam games and comparing :D

Submitted(+1)

I liked the transition to a fighting game, of course it was coming up but I really liked it.

You have refined the controls well it was fun to fight

Developer

I am glad you liked it, actually in unity the game specially transition scene was looking better with post processing and lighings, but my webgl build was not set to ultra quality, I realized after submissions end :/
