How does your game fit the theme?
It gives you the literal atmosphere/experience of the calm before an actual storm. And the story itself is portraying the calm before the eventual final decision of the game (the storm)
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Code yes. For assets we used a lot of online stuff

Thanks for submitting your game to the stream! If you wanted to look at it again in the future heres the vod timestamped to your game
Thanks for playing it! You gave us some good feedback!
The atmosphere, I really like it, and the message that the game is trying to tell you, I can see a lot of potential
I liked the concept, cool game!
Pretty neat experience :)
Hee-ho. Interesting game. Cool vibe
I like the vibes you created!
Nailed the atmosphere with this one. Love how the message of the game was weaved into the gameplay itself.
Thanks for sharing with my stream! Here's the VOD of your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2256101019?t=00h36m34s
Thanks!
you really nailed the vibe, the overall message of not using your phone while driving was also very interesting; it all made for a solid and interesting atmosphere. nice game!
Thanks! I do have to say though, that the message of the game wasn't "don't text and drive." It was supposed to be a story about a man losing his mother, but I guess we couldn't really portray that with the time given. Thanks for playing though! :)
Great ambience. Don't look at the phone while driving! Nice job.
The message of the game is good, do not use your phone while driving!
We had to slap on the ending due to us running out of time which may have lead to some disappointing ending/ misinterpretation of the message. We'll try to fix those when we get time. And thanks for playing!! Your twitch gameplay helped us see some problems.
Well... Gameplay is stiff. Like it is too responsive to little adjustments, which I guess isn't a big deal considering you can pretty much just stay on the right most part of the road without any consequences. It needs to be longer with more messages, but I guess time did not allow you. Ending is buggy. By buggy I mean nothing happens, but you are probably well aware. Overall with slight adjustments and extending the length with longer road and more msgs the game can be relaxing.
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey, it was interesting to see the stories on the phone while driving. (Hopefully, no one does this in real life!)
Really hope it doesn't get disqualified as it deserves some love for sure! Good job.
This game is absolutely brilliant! The balance between creativity and gameplay is spot on, making it both fun and engaging.
Thanks! We enjoyed making it!
A very atmospheric experience. The only problem with it might be a personal thing of mine which is, I don't find driving calm or relaxing at all, especially when avoiding oncoming traffic.
It's an interesting take on the theme and definitely worth checking out. Good job!
it was too relaxing it reminded me of flower, great driving mechanics
The only real complaints I have about this game is that it feels more like an experience than a game, which isn't bad per se, but doesn't sit with me quite right in a game jam.
Very serene. I really appreciate your creative take on the jam's theme. I think you really nailed the feeling and vibe you were going for and in that regard your game really worked for me. I just wish there were more to do.
We did want to add more stuff but couldn't due to time constraints and our limited experience related to 3D games. I'll try to go back after the Jam and add some more stuff if I get time.
I'm a sucker for late night drives while contemplating shit. I really liked the atmosphere of this game. I do also agree that adding more sound effects would increase the feel of the game. Would be cool if there were more people we could talk to on the phone and maybe hear their stories or experiences.
I agree about the more conversations with people/more people to talk to. I personally don't know if I will keep working on this as I have other ideas of games, but Dan might(not definitely, just a maybe) continue working on it. Thanks for playing!
I'm a sucker for relaxing driving games. The files doesn't seem to work, if you are able to fix it I'm more than willing to give this game a go.
Cheers!
Thank you, we just updated it!
Nice! I'm glad you've made it.
So I've played it till the -I'm assuming- end three times. The atmosphere is great, I wish there were more sounds though (maybe muffled raindrops, the engine of the car etc.). I have recently tried to makea driving game and I must say, the way you guys handled the driving was pretty smart, but it kinda feels off at the start.
The phone mechanic was interesting and gives you a subtle message about driving while looking at your phone. I explored all the messages and apps in it and it was nice, good work on the fred's voice too!
Spoilers for people who haven't played!
I can't seem to be able to call Fred back though. I always end up in the dead end side of the road. I tried to steer left to the main road, but it seems impossible. And the two choices in that road only lead to the game over screens. If I choose keep driving I die in an accident, if I choose to call Fred, the game immediately returns to the main menu (which isn't there when you first start the game) and there's a tip that says you shouldn't use your phone while drivinig. Maybe I missed something?
Overall, this game looks promising! With the right amount of polish, it can deliver a simple but powerful story.
Good work, cheers!
Thank you for leaving feedback, and we are glad you enjoyed it! The ending was kind of slapped on at the end because of time, so I apologize for that. As for Fred, the original idea was that there would be more voicemails and messages that would continue the story, and you would be able to call Fred back, but again, we couldn't do that because of time. Thank you so much for playing, and have a great rest of your day! :)
I tried to give this game a go but I don't think the playable build is in the files uploaded. If you upload a new build please give me a reply and I'll come back for it!
Thanks so much for trying. We uploaded the correct version today! Thanks!
