Game description
Nocturne is a narrative-driven puzzle game where you play as a receptionist in a cyberpunk hotel lobby. It might seem like an ordinary hotel, but Nocturne hides a secret in plain sight—it serves as a sanctuary for secret agents.
Each day, visitors arrive with stories to tell, and it’s up to you to decide whether they are on a mission, simply passing through, or perhaps lying to take you down. Failure is not an option—stay sharp and deduce everything carefully.
Theme interpretation
There are three layers of Secret incorporated into the game: a theme centered around becoming a part of a secret organization, gameplay involving analyzing guests' compliance with daily secret codes, and multiple endings, including a "secret" one.

Really well done game entry- the art, audio, design, and story were all really cohesive and appropriate for this package. The gameplay and story was fun too. At first I confused the passes and had them backwards (a failure that cost my character's life lol) but I didn't make that mistake again. Great work!
I loved the art style and it feels like a very polished experience. It was a lot of fun to look for clues, too. First time I got shot, I was really surprised because I thought everything went well.
Great job, congrats!
Cool mix of document checking and spy theme. Never though this genre will show something that unique. Great job!
I really enjoyed the concept of this one. The puzzles were tricky, but really fun to think about - one of the twin hints was very creative.
The colour palette is unique and fitting, and the character designs are very creative.
Brilliant interpretation of the theme.
Reminded me of Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
The music and sound effects were good too.
Amazing game. 10/10
Thank you for the kind words!
The twin was an idea from our game designer, and it was indeed a really clever twist.
Now that you mentioned Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, my visual artist and I were attending a local game conference and stumbled upon a new hobby—collecting one-shot Western comics. Interestingly, one of the pieces we bought was from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners!
We didn’t directly reference it when creating this game, but it’s cool to see that perhaps, subconsciously, we leaned toward that aesthetic and vibe.
Really loved this one, the art and palette is aesthetically pleasing, the characters are unique and interesting, the game lets you sit in suspense wondering if you were right or wrong. Great cyberpunk vibes as well, really well done!
Another paper please like in the jam, nice! Loved the art style, character design and overall idea. Very immersive gameplay
nice one! love the graphic style and the background music!
You're gonna get this a lot, but it's got that paper's please feel. I like how you don't put time pressure on me though. It makes the 1 wrong move until failure a whole lot more fair. They don't always say the exact code words correctly, so it always leaves you doubt in your mind of whether or not you made the right choice. This is great for a game dealing in spycraft. Also love the art. Every face so unique and well done. Thank you for making this!
We don’t mind at all being compared to Papers, Please! I believe a game should have a clear inspiration while adding its own unique twist. This way, players come in with some built-in knowledge and expectations, and we can work around that!
I’d never looked at the game design this way, but now that you mention it, perhaps we did trade the time-pressure difficulties for the challenge of interpreting the daily code in a more vague way. This gives the game more of a "spycraft" feel.
Anyway, thank you for the comprehensive comment and for playing the game!
Superb artstyle and sound design! You really feel like you are in a Cyberpunk world in the game.
Great job with this one! I like the interpretation of the theme and the mechanics.
Maybe the clickable area could have been bigger, but it's a really good job for a 1 month jam!
Beautiful art style and palette! Pretty fun but deceptively difficult game, made it to day 4 and got the bad end unfortunately. LOVE the character designs.
great thematic interpretation, artwork, and music.
the conversation pace could be quicker, and the UI click area can be slightly bigger. i wish there is also a way to re-examine the conversation that happened so far before making decisions
overall very cohesive and tight execution. good work!
The artwork is fantastic! Great job there! Also solid use of the theme and fun to play. Great work! I think I passed the first day - it said I felt relief - so maybe I passed? I kinda feel like I need to fail on purpose now to be sure haha.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game! The art, music, and sound effects are all excellent and create a fantastic ambience.
The gameplay is very creative. It's a simple concept but deceptively hard and oddly addicting. I played for far longer than I had intended.
I'd love to see an optional hint when failing a day. I ended up replaying some days several times and using trial-and-error. It would have been helpful to get a hint about what I might have missed after trying and failing three or four times.
A very memorable art style and feel to this game, I love it!
There were some minor grammatical mistakes and some incorrectly labelled dialogue, but overall a very polished experience.
Great game
