Fantastic game! Really easy to play with very clear instructions and the overall style is just impeccable. I've tried to make something quite similar to this in another jam and couldn't get it to work half as good as this, I'd love to know how you got this water to work so well. Very enjoyable throughout, awesome job!
This was one of the most charming and fun games I've played in the jam! The pixel art visuals were beautiful and the way you did the dialogue with the profile of the character next to the speech lines reminded me of some of my favorite early PC games such as King's Quest and I loved that!
The main mechanic of balancing the cargo was fun and well-polished. The tutorial was perfect for learning how to play without dragging. I also appreciated the quality-of-life options such as the easy mode difficulty adjustment.
Fantastic project!
One of the most unique and fun games of the Jam, wish I was better at it :)
Awesome job.
Liked the unique mechanic of balancing the different shaped and different weighing cargo while waves were coming. The really cool story idea at sea was awesome, art looks really good and it was a fun game overall- really nice job on it!
I like the art and the environment of the game. It's very addictive and original.
i loved the pixel art and the gameplay loop was really fun
My controller isn't in the best condition due to stick drift among other things, so played it with keyboard. I know that the game recommends controller, but i didn't want my controller to affect how the game felt, so i just didn't.
For the keyboard controls i have a suggestion, they react well, but they are too sensitive, i think that toning down the speed at wich it moves when using keyboard even if just a little bit would help with getting more precise inputs.
Very well executed game, solid art style and fun game mechanics! Cheers :D
This is a great and unique game, I really enjoyed playing it, it shows that you made it with love.
Great job!
This was a fun, unique submission for the jam. I found it quite challenging (I had to go to easy mode for the football and vase), but in a way that made me want to keep playing, if only to show the ocean who's boss. The graphics and sound remind me a lot of Scribblenauts. Overall, I really enjoyed it.
I adored this entry. Its simple on surface, but I see the effort that went into it.
Gameplay is incredibly creative and refreshing. A less thoughtful gamedev would code in a "deposit cargo" button and be done with it. Tossing the cargo on destination is mindblowing.
The fully written narrative is cleverly humorous (not to mention the wordplay on the boat name). Small touches like animating words for emphasis did not go unnoticed.
The coherent visual style. From the low poly pixel art to the wackiness of the cargo and UI. Very polished.
Great QOL implementation (e.g. wave indicators).
I like this a lot, and I look forward to you ranking very highly for this jam.
Thank you so very much for your thoughtful response. It means a lot to me!
Even the easy option was very difficult for me *internal screaming*. But it's fun! Great job!
Magnificent physics game. Some of the cargo objects made me laugh
It's a unique and amazing game. I really enjoyed myself strugling to keep it on the ship.
Maybe the sprites are bit too big cause 1 misstep and it's chaos haha. So was very difficult good to have an easy option!
Well done!
Congrats on the game!
I really enjoyed this one, it felt quite unique. It's one of those games that's simple to pick up but takes skill to master. It's also very well polished, good art, music, story. Good job!
Fun unique mechanics, had fun tossing the cargo around. The intro along with progression is awesome. and dont even get me started on the art. I LOVE ITTTTT!
This was great!
The pixel art is fantastic and the dialogue was clever and set up the story well.
Every time the football spawned I knew I was doomed though haha!
Awesome job!
Crazy how this is your first game jam! It was so polished and the little world that you built felt very cohesive (loved the boat & the sailor character) :) Unfortunately didn't have a controller so I struggled in the beginning for a while, but eventually got the hang of it. Thank you for creating this!
This is fantastic! QUAAAAAAAACK QUAAAAAAACK. Really loved all of the different items, and how they imposed different challenges for each shape! Great job!!
What a cute little game this was. I unfortunately didn't have a controller at hand and that meant that the tutorial couldn't be finished as the space bar wasn't functioning. But I really liked the idea and the look and feel for this. Very good!
That's good feedback! I wish I had explained it better in the game, - holding spacebar makes the platform faster/more responsive to the controls, so you can toss the cargo onto the dock. Thanks for playing!
This is amazing ! really polished and really unique concept great job !
