How does your game match the theme?
You move objects through the space. With a hook. Or you move yourself to those objects. With your hook. And gems. There are gems to collect. Which fell from the space above.

Not bad, throwing around that hook. Could of been a bit faster though, there was alot of waiting due to how slow it was. But it did lead to some fun puzzles.
Nice game.
Nice gameplay, the hook mechanic is great and I love the variety of ways you get to use it. Especially like the offscreen puzzles, maybe the game would benefit from a bigger screen so you could make more complex puzzles like those. My only real criticism is that I would like the collisions to be clearer, it was hard to tell which parts of objects are solid.
Very creative puzzle and utilization of the mechanics. I especially like the multi-screen puzzles. I sometimes got ambushed by off screen enemies, but the respond time is quick, so it's not a big problem.
cute sprites and really neat concept! the hook mechanic was fun to play with and the level was designed well around it. nice simple tutorial to help the player learn. i thought killing enemies was a bit confusing though. “hook enemies & then roll” didn’t seem to work. that usually led to death lol. i eventually realized that they had to be slammed into things after being hooked to kill them. at least i think that’s what killed them. hitboxes for trees and stuff was also a little confusing because it’s hard to tell when you can or can’t walk behind something. pretty minor points though, i really enjoyed playing this! nice job.
This is really great! The artwork is really polished and pleasant fot the eyes. I enjoyed learning new mechanics. Everything in the "tutorial" was clear and very well implemented. It's a good mechanic with the hook and rolling and the way you implemented it to the levels. Sometimes it wasn't obvious at the first glance what to do but figuring it out is very satisfying. Good job!
Nice hookshot! It'd be awesome if it was a bit faster, but overall this is a nice well presented game. Coongrats!
Extremely polished hook mechanic. Loved it!
Really nice and clean execution, fun mechanic too!
That was really fun! There's a lot of good puzzle design in this. Great work!
Great game! Very game boy feeling. The graphics are really nice and clear and look great. The mechanic to kill enemies doesn't work sometimes and the roll while hooking didn't work for me until I realized I need to be holding a direction to roll, not just hit B (lol). But other than that, it was really fun! Especially when I figured out how to move those rocks without instruction. I was like :O
fun game play! solving things with the grapple was very satisfying
its fun being a hooker, cool game!
Pretty good game, though it was really confusing when it came to rolling to defeat enemies while hooked (I often got myself killed and it got a bit frustrating) and the collision of things you needed to walk behind was a bit weird. Other than that it nails the Game Boy feel and is a very good interpretation of the theme.
Really liked the graphics and music/sound and had a great gameboy feel. Also really like the check points so I don't have to start all over again if I die as it was fun to try the different levels.
I couldn't quite figure out the roll mechanic, particularly when hooked.
One issue I did hit that wasn't mentioned yet was that if you tabbed away to another browser and came back I couldn't get input working again. :( So I lost progress when I went to answer someone that sent me a question.
Also, for some reason the gamepad input didn't work for me. Maybe it doesn't work for this game in browser?
Overall I think this is a great game, good job!
Thanks for taking the time to comment!
I guess it’s not entirely clear you need to hold an arrow key as you’re rolling for it to work.
I’ll report the input issue on the Pyxel engine GitHub page, thanks for letting me know.
Ah, I'll give the controls another try later tonight after work. I knew about doing that for moving but wasn't quite getting it while hooked. Likely why I couldn't get past that section that mentioned it. LOL
And I'm guessing the input issues I hit were just the html implementation, not sure or could just be something about me or my setup.
Nice level design, I can tell a lot of care went into crafting this.
Very cool, nice aesthetic. Sometimes I had a hard time know what I could and couldn't move around. More collision clarity would be awesome! Thanks for making!
Cool gameplay, good FX, nice graphics, sometimes the hero gets stuck moving along the wall.
The hook mechanic was very cool. Also really appreciated how you taught the player to use the tools in-game!
What a great little adventure!
Using the hook to transition between screens was exciting, and yes, the bat did get me the first time ^^,
Played it through, woulda played more!
Also cute as heck, and very true to the Gameboy aesthetic!
Massively fun! I loved the different uses for the hook shot, and especially enjoyed sending it offscreen to see what zaniness would ensue. The puzzles have quite a variety, and the action is pretty solid. I could not always pull off the hook-enemy-and-roll move, I'm not sure why that is.
Also, a very minor quibble: the mushrooms (flowers?) have a strong defined outline and look like obstacles, even though they are not.
