This was a fun platformer! The mechanic of changing your shape and each one having different traits was really nice. I had fun playing thru it and would be interested to see what you cook up if you kept working on the game. Great job!

The shape changing was great with the different shapes having different speed, jump height, and weight. I think respawning at each screen instead of always at the start would have been more fun, but that's a personal preference. Good mechanics, well done!

I've played some of these fast paced die/restart games during this jam and this one is the only on that hasn't had a checkpoint system at room swap. The idea here is good and could be iterated upon, but that respawning is rough.

Developer

Hey Knowledge, thanks for the feedback!

I created the game in roughly 11 hours over two nights, so unfortunately I had little time to implement the respawning in each section. It was on the radar, but life got in the way!

I will definitely consider it for future projects, thanks!

I got stuck in the first room. I actually had to watch your video to figure out how to flip the switch -- it wasn't intuitive to me that I'd have to switch shapes to flip it 😅 I tried to jump into the flashing shape but that didn't do anything either.

The concept is fun. I found myself playing as circle for most of it. I think you demonstrated your concept well, good job.

Developer

Haha, yeah! A tutorial on the controls is definitely required in future projects, I think!

As did I when testing, Circle supremacy!

Thanks a lot :)

This is a great concept. I can only think of other puzzles and additions that would make it better. As a prototype, perfect!

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Appreciate it :)

I enjoyed playing your game, even though I'm not good at platformers. The idea of transforming into different forms with different qualities seemed fun and interesting to me. Though I didn't immediately understand how to transform - I think adding some control information at the beginning of the game would be good. The music fits the game's pace, and you could add a timer for speedrunners - I think they would enjoy the game first and foremost.

Developer

Thanks Shegi!

I do agree, controls were only put in the description of the game because I didn’t have time to add them in game. Will be sure to add them in future projects!

That was my thinking exactly.. Spot on about the speedrunners!

I appreciate the feedback :)

It's a good platformer, but it needs some work. Don't give up and keep developing. I'll wait for the update)

Developer

Thanks SemOnGame!

I agree, the game definitely needs a lot of work! If I make it through to round 2 of GDKO, I plan to definitely evolve the game! Or, depending on the round 2 task, I will start a whole new idea! We shall see :)

I appreciate the feedback!

Fun game.

  • The level design is good and well paced.
  • The music is good and fits well with the overall aesthetics thought the volume is a bit low.
  • The controls could be tighter. I think adding coyote time and jump buffering would make it a lot nicer to play.

Great job. ( ̄ー ̄)b

Thanks Erebus! Given my self-imposed time restraints, and just general life, I struggled to polish any movement/animations, etc. Will work on them more in future projects.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback!
