Hey Knowledge, thanks for the feedback!

I created the game in roughly 11 hours over two nights, so unfortunately I had little time to implement the respawning in each section. It was on the radar, but life got in the way!

I will definitely consider it for future projects, thanks!

I loved the whole vibe of the game! Environment and art style are brilliant.

I felt like it needed more of challenge when it came to planting the seeds and collecting them for crops. But as a farming sim, the foundation works well; and also aligns with the Jam Task well!

Great job!

Haha, yeah! A tutorial on the controls is definitely required in future projects, I think!

As did I when testing, Circle supremacy!

Thanks a lot :)

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Appreciate it :)

Great concept for a game!
The mechanics work well together. It did feel a bit empty though.. Would love to see more levels/areas in future projects!
I love the little guy, very cute art :)

Very cool game!
Rage inducing difficulty of the levels kept me wanting to complete it.
The retro art looks nice and the music has a good beat, with a sense of urgency; both compliment the style of game well.
Overall the mechanics align with the Jam Task well.
Great job!

Great game!
The mechanics compliment each other very well.
Allowing the player to move the door is a very nice touch; makes it feel more interactive and immersive!
Well done!

Cool game!
Once I realised I was running out of ammo, I was more conservative with my shooting.
The dash mechanic was cool to burst through a horde of enemies!
The screen shake got a bit nauseating after a little while, though.

Nice job!

That sounds wicked!

Well done submitting!
I struggled a bit to understand exactly what I had to do in the beginning, but picked it up after a few plays. The movement of the items seems fixed in acceleration, which made it difficult to hone in on the sushi. And the learning curve is much too fast to begin with. Slowing the train down drastically in the beginning would give the player a chance to grasp the mechanic, before then speeding it up over time.
Definitely has potential, I hope to see more projects in the future!

Great platformer! Cool soundtrack, and the mechanics aligned with the Jam Task really well!
DUCK

Definitely huge potential with these mechanics! I would love to see your game evolve into a full RPG.
Well done!

The mechanics were difficult to learn at first.. but once I got the hang of it, I was flying around like Spiderman!
Well done!

Really loved your game! The Hidden Folks inspired sound design will forever be charming. The minimalist art style compliments the puzzles really well. Very easy to pick up, and can be made much more difficult if required.
Well done!

Cool mechanic! Reminds me of the Pokemon Stadium minigame - Run, Rattata, Run: Where you would have to mash a button then jump over the barriers. Similar concept, but implemented in an original way!
I like the use of the mouse and keyboard, keeping both hands active.
A bit of audio would tie it together nicely, but what you've submitted aligns with the task! Well done!

Cool idea! I think these mechanics could be implemented very well into a full project.
Well done!

Great game! Implemented the use of switching the reflectors and riding the light really well.
The puzzles were the perfect balance of difficult and interesting to keep me captivated.
The eerie tone of the music gives you an uneasy feeling, but in a "I'm stuck in a never-ending labyrinth" sort of way. Very well done!

Well done! You've definitely taken advantage of my ADHD and made me hyperfocus on math equations for far longer than any of my maths teachers ever could!
Let me tell you, this game drew me in straight away and I played for 30 minutes before I realised there is no end :')

Couple of points I noted:

  • Brilliant sound track, fits the theme of the game really well.
  • Feedback and response of clicking buttons was very satisfying.
  • The ability to roleplay as Kratos the Maths teacher, outstanding.

Great job!

So much fun!

I absolutely adore the Gameboy monochromatic colours. The gameplay was charming, and the narrative was well written. I also loved the breaking of the fourth wall with the recipe book :D

Only thing missing for me was music, but that's a larger scope for a bigger project. What you implemented here aligned with the Jam Task very well!

Great job!

Car go vroom!
Drives well, good job!

Great concept for a platformer! Loved the jumping/bouncing mechanic on the stick, really sets it apart from a traditional platformer. Art style was captivating also!

Good job!

Ah yes, this is a banger!

Art style is cool. Audio and visual feedback compliments the game style very well. And just enough a sense of urgency where it gets your heart rate up, but not so much where it’s stressful. Perfect balance of challenging and fun!

Absolutely loved it!

I really enjoyed your game.

The feedback and response from every movement.. the stresses of getting closer and closer to the enemies. It really kept me enthralled.

Well done!

Such a fun game! Very cool idea, well executed!

Thanks Shegi!

I do agree, controls were only put in the description of the game because I didn’t have time to add them in game. Will be sure to add them in future projects!

That was my thinking exactly.. Spot on about the speedrunners!

I appreciate the feedback :)

Thanks SemOnGame!

I agree, the game definitely needs a lot of work! If I make it through to round 2 of GDKO, I plan to definitely evolve the game! Or, depending on the round 2 task, I will start a whole new idea! We shall see :)

I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks Erebus! Given my self-imposed time restraints, and just general life, I struggled to polish any movement/animations, etc. Will work on them more in future projects.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback!

Hi there!

First of all, congratulations on submitting for GDKO 2025!
Your game uses progression based tasks to reward the player really well.
I felt like I was moving forward with every tree I chopped down, and every item of furniture I crafted.

Couple of things:

  • The wood chopping mini-game was a little bit tedious, kind of felt almost too difficult to nail the green every time.
  • The crafting mini-game was really cool, loved it! The mouse sensitivity was a bit high, but still great nonetheless.
  • The tutorial text disappears, but then reappears each time you enter the house.
  • The art style is really cute and fun. The player and shop assistant animations are really well done!
  • The music has a nice charm to it.

Thanks a lot, I really enjoyed this game!

Hi there!
First of all, congratulations on submitting for GDKO 2025!

Your game doesn't seem to have any direction towards progression. I felt like I was clicking buttons and hearing noises without ever seeing anything to show for it.
The minigame was brilliant, albeit a little bit janky to move around, but still a great premise!
The sound clips were very high in reverb, which would work well with a backing track of music, but by themselves it definitely made the game feel even more empty.
The art style is great, and would work even better if the 3D models were implemented.

Thanks!

Cool platformer, with a lot of hidden aspects. I loved the minimalist art-style, changing as you progress. The music was fun, without being too repetitive.  And the mechanics were simple and easy to learn.

Great job!

Fun game!
I started playing and before I knew it, 10 minutes had passed in a blink of an eye.
Card mechanics need a little bit of a balance, but I enjoyed it!

A very charming and compact game!

  • Simple UI and easy to learn controls (Only thing I would change: Interact from 'E' -> 'Enter' / 'Space').
  • Puzzles that aren't too difficult, but engrossing enough to keep you interested.
  • Charismatic and fun music.
  • An incredibly alluring art-style.

Overall, a great game! I hope you do well, STARDICE Games!
