Cool game. This is the most innovative game in the jam that I have played so far.
1, Level 3 is too hard.
2, There should be a jump sound.
3, There should be background music and more polish.
Besides these, cool game.
I would be very happy if you would play my game.
I liked this one quite a lot! The idea of two characters constrained to different planes was cool. I particularly liked when the two different "spaces" intersected, so the characters had to use each other as walls / platforms. Like others have said, the movement feels clunky - I think because they accelerate slowly when you start moving, so they feel very heavy and sluggish, but they stop instantly when you release the key. For this kind of puzzle game, I think starting and stopping should both be instant. Also, the audio sounded like it was playing too loud so it was clipping.
The game can be cheesed by pressing the A and D keys to move Hix by himself. So the game loses most of the challenge because of this. Great job though.
Yup, best game that I've tried. Good job!
I liked the puzzles and how I was thought how the characters interact through clever level design! Sometimes the controls were a bit frustrating, it was a bit difficult to jump up on things, but I still really enjoyed your game!
Nice puzzle game! Good job!
I like the concept, and the beginning levels do a really good job of teaching you the mechanics. I feel like it takes a little too long to restart levels, but overall I like the game.
Interesting and unique concept! Pretty tough to control, and it ramps up way faster than this old-timer can cope with. I like what it's trying to be, though.
Might have been better if the views weren't quite so face-on. You could have just moved the camera away from horizontal to give a far more 3D appearance. It looks like you've built the models in 3D anyway, so why not show them off?
A very fun way to have 2 characters but 1 player! As other said the controls would deserve a bit of polish to really feel nice (I had a hard time to understand the jump). Sometimes it is a bit hard to clearly see you character from the level - but overall very nice!
I think the concept of the game is really cool! Unfortunately the controls feel a little hard to use at times.
Thanks for the feedback!
Could you elaborate a little more about the controls? This think of feedback is valuable to us!
Controls were a bit… unresposive? I’m not sure, something felt a bit weird. I like the art style a lot, but it needed some polishing (some aliasing maybe) or something, it ended up having some very harsh jagged edges here. Maybe some less detailed textures?
Could you explain how the controls felt unresponsive? As for the polishing , did you felt like all the graphics element were concerned?
Thanks for the feedback!
I didnt’t mean to sound nitpicky. However, not sure what about the controller felt off. Maybe some of the common platformer leeway techniques could work. As for the graphics, I think it mainly impacted the scenery, it felt like it had way more detailed textures than your zoom level appreciated, but I could be wrong :)
Don't worry it didn't sound nitpicky! I totally see now what you mean, thanks for the valuable feedback :)
Bit clunky, but it gets the job done very well. I would like to see the game with only one character but you are looking at him from two different perspectives at once
The side-scrolling/top-down perspective difference was a really unique take on the theme, and made it stand out among other games of control-two-characters-with-one-control-scheme puzzlers. The level designs were really interesting and thoughtful and really played with that perspective idea in fun ways. The controls were also good, and the low-poly visuals look great. Great job!
By the way, we played your game on our stream tonight!
Thanks for playing the game, it's always fun to see people playing our game live :) (it would have been nice to see you react on the other mechanics the game has to offer though ahah)
Nice unique take on the two characters one control idea!
This is such an fantastic idea for a puzzle game. I loved the ways the characters interacted; it gave me a couple of "aha!" moments that were delightful.
Glad you liked it :) The "aha! moments" is definitely something we were going for and I'm happy you were able to experience it!
I really like this idea! It's fun to play and figure out how to solve the puzzles.
I wasn't a fan so much of the sound effects, they're quite loud and don't really fit the aesthetic of the game. Great job otherwise!
I'm totally with you for the sound, we noticed it was way louder than we anticipated and we didn't really put much effort into it.
Thanks for the feedback!
Seems the theme has brought out a lot of puzzlers! My only real critiuqe is it could be challening to tell which areas were "raised" on the top-down path, it made it kind of challenging to tell where I needed to stand to advance without some trial and error.
Otherwise, a well thought out puzzler with fun mechanics
Yes you're right it's something we asked ourselves during development, maybe a slightly diffrent camera angle would've helped!
Thanks for the feebback!
Really cool concept, original take on the control two players together.
Well done!
The combination of 2D and 3D is a fantastic idea, especially when they interact. The level design is great too. The difficulty is really well balanced - it's tricky without feeling unfair. Great job!
