Interesting idea, who wouldn't want to gun down hordes of goblins with a machine gun :-)
It could have some extra juice, the bullets felt a bit weak, maybe some red flashing when hitting and a little goblin knockback would solve that. Maybe making the game faster would create more tension as well. Also, the camera follow is a bit slow when going down, I often hit the edge of the screen and couldn't see very far down.
Otherwise I loved the attention to details, the paper map, the game books on the edges, the floor outside of the table, the fallen figurines, ... so many little things that makes the game feel like it's happening on my table. Good job!
A nice twist on roll of the dice, it definitely fits with DnD because of the amount of dice rolling associated obviously. Though I wills ay the d20 only doing explosions was not what I expected. But it does make sense based off what was said in the description. It would be very cool to see other effect sand such from the D20. Not sure where those would go but it would definitely mix it up a bit.
Though I wills ay the D20 insta killing was not what I expected but was incredibly fun to abuse. Maybe some sort of kick would be interesting ? I feel like it would be very abused, but very fun to kick the d20 through hordes.
Also I feel like randomizing where the enemies spawn more could be interesting. Where the dice just show how many WILL spawn and then some spawn throughout the map. Cause currently most of the time I just walked away from the dice and shot them adown as they walked up to me. Zombie style.
I like the 20d recharge system, but the weapons felt a bit anemic. I thought the gun was just blowing air for a little while. I think some crunchier sound effects and maybe screenshake for the 20d's would help. Also, maybe a wider radius for the 20d blast so that the player really cares about the cool-down.
Really liking the presentation and TTRPG theming. It's fun to play, and the rulebook with the team names was a nice touch. The movement feels a bit slow, though. Would love to see more enemy types and feedback for hitting enemies.
Nice. Really like all the details, like being able to see the edge of the table and the floor below.
This top down shooter was pretty cool. Using the D20 to explode enemies was pretty satisfying! :)
A fun top down shooter with a cool aesthetic
I typically don't like top-down shooters, but I did enjoy this one!
I really like how the stage is vast, so your character can keep running and gunning without really worrying about being trapped in a corner. I also found myself often taking advantage of the terrain and choke points to defeat hordes of enemies, which felt really satisfying!
I never felt in danger of losing health, thanks to all the space to run away, and the enemies not dealing much damage per hit. My main point of feedback is the gameplay did start to feel same-y after a while of playing, so introducing new elements (i.e., new enemies, different objectives, etc.) over time to spice things up / change up the optimal strategy of playing would be nice.
Overall, great job with this one!
The backstory is really fun, I wish you would have insisted a bit more on it while in game. You should try the game "Firck the R.N.G" made for this jam too, which has a similar pitch. I really loved playing as a toy soldier fighting DnD miniatures :D
Fun stuff! The dice usage is great, fitting the theme!
As others mentioned, game speed is a little slow, but overall fun
The setting is cool too, and seems quite unique!
That was pretty fun! Definitely on the easy side, but I loved exploring the tabletop and seeing all the details that were put in there. I think having the minigun push you back as you fired might worked well for the wave shooter feel this has going, it would have helped combat the slow movement as you tend to want to backpedal from waves and it'd be pushing you away from where you are firing.
Very good! Every aspect of the game is well done. A bit more juice and difficulty would be nice. Still, great game!
I liked the music, and the aesthetic is interesting.
However, the difficulty was on the easy side for me (I just held LMB and stayed away from the enemies), and the D20 felt somewhat floaty (hard to aim it properly at the enemies).
As probably mentioned by other commenters, more visual feedback on hitting enemies would be nice.
Otherwise, quite a bit of polish, good job!
As a fan of DnD-thematics, this is really fun! I like the little miniature-with-battlemap-style. And rolling a d20 into like 8 Goblins feels really rewarding too.
A lil bit more movement would have been nice though I think. Right now the character is rather slow imo.
Still, really well done!
There’s a fun bug where you end up on top of the enemies and they can’t hurt you
I enjoyed this quite a fair bit. The aesthetic was really interesting and lends itself well to the game. More visual feedback would be nice though. The enemies surrounded me but I could not tell if I was taking damage that well or not. Overall very enjoyable.
Really enjoyed the presentation of the game
Wow my two favourite toys/games :D Great job with this game it was fun
Very good entry, I do love the core idea of your game!
I'll just point out a few things, but first I must say I overall enjoyed playing the game a lot! I would have really love to have a bit more feedback (screenshaaaaaake on explosion for exemple :D ), and also I found the D20 use nice but really hard to use well.
Nonetheless, those points are minor problems, and this is definitely a pretty solid and pleasant entry, congrats to you all!
This is quite a fun game to play! I love the art style and the music and the mechanics feel really smooth and enjoyable to play.!
