There's been many games of this type in the gamejam and if you watched the GMTK streams you probably heard Mark say that these games often just end up with trying to move around randomly until the puzzle is solved. Sadly I think this applies here as well. It's just the problem with this particular game type.
Than being said, I really really like your presentation. It looks amazing, starting from the intro screena all the way to the dice rolling and the end of the level. Easy 5/5 there.
Great job!
Already seen that idea a few times already. It is good must admit, but I didn't feel relaxed or interested to solve these puzzles right now. In another game it was relaxing music which keep me going, but in this one there is no music, and I just lost my attitude
the idea wasnt that original but i still enjoyed the aesthetic and feedback the game gave me. it really added alot to it. nice game!
One of the most common theme on this jam.
Although this one has a unique look to it.
I'm still not sure if the dice is 3D made to look 2D, or is it an animated pixel sprite?
Good job !
I made a little explanation here.
Definitely one of the games like this from the jam with a more unique art style, which is always cool. Especially seeing 3D rendered to 2D. That's something I'm particularly partial to myself, so it was cool to see being used like this.
Mechanics wise it was definitely one of the easier ones since it didn't really add any extra twists to the formula, though it definitely was having a little fun with being "normal" for sure. Which was a nice change of pace. Though I will say the levels did end up a little easy some of the time, the first few are pretty much just "walk to the end" most of the time.
So some more difficulty on that front would've been appreciated. Though it definitely helps to see some of the later challenges for sure.
The graphics are amazing. Feels like a 16-bit game from the best old studios. There was a quite a number of entries relying these mechanics (my game not excluded), but yours was one of two that very nicely used a couple of first levels to isolate the main point of the mechanics and force the player to learn the 3x2 and 2x2 maneuvers needed to flip the dice to the needed number. Nice job.
Cool idea! Really like it!
Obviously have seen a lot of these kind of puzzlers this jam, but the art style here really sets this one apart. Really, really cool and I actually enjoyed the puzzles in this one! Awesome job!
I love the pixel art and entire vibe here! Being able to move off the square tiles caught me off guard and was a simple yet cool twist. I'm a bit bummed there's not more levels, but I enjoyed it nevertheless!
I see alot puzzler idea similiar to this, but this is the best so far I enjoy this game, Impressive game in such a short time. Great job!
Feel free to check my game if you want to challange your brain muscle!
The prettiest iteration of this concept I've seen so far! good work. I got excited when the "!" panels were introduced, but I wanted to see even more twists to add depth to this mechanic.
Thank you so much!
I might make a post-jam update with some more content.
Its a pretty common gameplay idea, but you made it feel really good. Wonderful presentation!
Very fun mechanic, had me thinking real hard at times :D Great job!
This might just be the best looking dice orienting game in this jam!
Art and animation are amazing! I like that it feels like there's a story there, rather than just a dice rolling around without context.
Good visuals, without unnecessary music. The movement is a bit slow tho. The game can easily be further expanded. I liked the “a-ha!” moment when I realized you could roll in the light sand.
I loved Visuals! Good job!
by the way could you play and rate my game?
Love the artwork
would've loved to hear some sound effects and music
and it took me some time to find out that you could walk on tiles that don't have dark squares on them
otherwise amazing game, especially the visuals
I really though there'd be more levels! That's how into it I got it! Great take on the theme. Played at https://twitch.tv/hedgein <3
