Wow, this looks so beautiful! *_* Sometimes the perspective makes it somewhat hard to see what's going on though when multiple sprites overlap. I think this could easily become a fun puzzle game if you add an undo-mechanic and an indicator for where each enemy will move the next turn. As of now it feels a bit random and a good score oftentimes only means you got a good starting layout.
Have you tried implementing a version where the number of eyes just limits the maximum range of motion btw? So that when you roll on a three, you could move 1, 2 or 3 tiles in that direction instead of always being bound to move the full three tiles. If you're going for a puzzle game that may make it too easy, but for a more casual/arcadey experience I think it might work out a little better.
Also really dig the idea of turning the dice into a spider - very cute concept! :)
The art style is phenomenal and the core gameplay is simple yet interesting. It's a tad on the short side currently (48 hours, totally get it), but I think if this were to be expanded (particularly in regards to design) it would really sing. Great stuff.
Really cute game. The concept was well executed especially in graphics and game feel. I do wish that I was required to work more than a move ahead. Your game certainly allows for it, there is no randomness within a level which I like, but I never felt like it was necessary. While your game does have a score counter in the top, my score in the end felt too determined by the starting layout for me to need to think too far ahead. Still, that just makes it all the more relaxing, and it was very well made!
Nice game! The art and animations are really great! Congrats
I wish there was more … GJ !
Fun fact, when you look up the definition for the word Phenomenal, you get linked to the graphics of this game :P
The only thing I would really complain about is that I wish there was more of it ; - ;
It's quite short, but so richly atmospheric. In other words this game is like a chocolate cheese cake, extremely rich in flavour, and bad for my teeth.. minus the last bit... I shouldn't write reviews when hungry.
Beautiful art! Played at https://twitch.tv/hedgein <3
I'll echo the rest, this has some nice art and music. It took me a moment to realize I should squish the enemies, but that's simply because I failed to read the game description first. I didn't spend a lot of time on the game because the amount of content felt relatively limited, but it was an interesting challenge to get my number of moves as low as possible.
Waouh! I loved your art direction. Your game artist is perfect ! And the music was beautiful. Nice job!
Wonderful art, wonderful music! I wish you had more time to implement additional levels, enemy types and mechanics, since the core is already strong, and I can easilly see myself playing it. There's this seemingly unsolvable design problem with this jam - you never see at least 3 sides of a die, which makes planning ahead really hard. I now about "seven minus visible side" approach, and also you did a great job with showing possible paths, but still, planning for more than one turn ahead seems impossible most of the time. But again, this is a universal problem, not something specific to your game. Great job, really loved it!
Nice game with beautiful graphics, it could be more challenging tho and a little more variety would be nice. Greetings from a fellow German team
Very clever take on turn-based combat mechanics, and the style is immensely charming. Could see this being even more engaging if some environmental puzzle solving was also added using this mechanic. Great work!
Exceptionally beautiful game! I am amazed at how beautiful this looks given the short time of development. Gameplay wise its simple but fun, I wish there was more content, but given the visuals im not sure that is a reasonable expectation because it was after all a 48 hour jam, and so much effort went into making this look really beautiful.
Very beautiful game. Apart from the lack of content this could already be a full release. Looks and feels so polished. good job!
The art and music is perfect! I just wanted more gameplay and levels. I would like to see how can this game be more expanded without such a short time constraint.
Very neat game, so polished, and the aesthetics is really awesome. Well done :)
Came here after Mark's stream. The art is just stellar!! Congrats!! The gameplay is simple yet fun and chill.
The aesthetics are crazy good! Although the numbers aren't extremely visible. The gameplay itself is fun. Overall very cool!
The game looks really stellar!
It also introduces a feeling of "Come on, I can get lower than my current score." immediately, though my best was only 9 moves : D
It's good overall, but I could see you definitely add more mechanics, or tweak the current ones to make this more interesting overall.
A pretty simple and chill game. I loved the creepy crawly type of vibe that the game gives.
The lowest move I achieved was 6 -
I challenge everyone else to beat that :D
congrats on completing the jam !
