Super creative game !! Love the concept and the gameplay too, few knick-kacks here and there. But all in all Great work for a 48 hour game jam !! :D

Thank you!

Artstyle and mechanic are really fun. I find some frustration with the uncertainty of when you will be ready to do a dash though. A indicator would do a lot. I also am not sure I fully liked the way the poker chips work. I get what you were doing when trying to make it so you don't get affected by them as a die, but I think it made it feel less consistent as a result. It's expected to use them sometimes which means timing it really tight to not finish a transformation. I think it just working all the time and removing the being a die to avoid damage would feel better personally. This is still insanely well done for a game jam game though!

Developer

I'm glad you liked the art and mechanic! We thought about a visual indicator for the peak, but there wasn't time to implement one. Thanks for the feedback about the poker chips, they were also thrown in at the last minute. Thanks for playing!

yeah everyone said about cute art and dice mechanic but oh myy how good it feels to like jump and turn into the dice, it just feels so cool and fun
the most frustrating part for me was the ending - you need to execute many things right: shrink, jump in time so you can get additional jump, reach the platform without falling, then execute dash right in time to get the green token while not being in dice state (can't believe i actually completed it..), but overall the game was enjoyable and it really has interesting potential, thank you for this experience!

Developer

I'm glad you like the art and mechanic. Yeah, I always end up doing level design for the designer (me) and not the player, so it always turns out insanely hard, especially in 48 hour jams. Props for finishing the game despite the crazy difficulty, and thanks for playing!

Really loved the intro and the general art/theme.  And I really liked the dice mechanic! The jump->turn into a thrown dice has lots of potential I think. As is, I found the game tricky and a little frustrating to control in general but I love the idea of particularly the upwards jump to dice mechanic so hope you guys continue working on it!

Developer

Thank you! The controls did end up being super hard when you're first learning them. But I'm glad you liked the mechanic!

Loved the intro cinematic and the in-game art style is also pretty nice! I feel like it's a bit of a cheap shot to only tell the player they can influence the spell after a non-trivial first level. The spell mechanics themselves feel pretty nice, but I think you need to tighten up the controls a bit to make this more enjoyable; right now, the character feels pretty hard to control and I had to give up in level 2. Definitely has potential to be a good platformer, though!

Developer

Glad you liked the art! The original plan was for that first level to be trivial, but that was forgotten in the madness of a 48 hour jam. And yeah, the learning curve ended up being WAY too steep. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

I'm so impressed with art and music! Beautiful game!

Thank you!

Awesome game, minor issues with the gameplay but everything else is outstanding for a 48hr game.

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! It was an intense 48 hours.

CountThrepe, This was a really fun game! The mechanics are exciting to use. The art is also really pretty but there are times when I struggled with gameplay because of the contrast of the background and platform pieces making it easy to miss obstacles or platforms. The music was also well done and overall had a fun vibe. Great work :D

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! And the feedback is appreciated.

Amazing presentation and polish. Lovely animations and the dash and double jump combo dice move feels great except accidentally shrinking instead. I think shrinking should only happen when you hold down or get hit by the shrink bullets. That would help a lot with the controls.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The controls definitely need some tweaking to get them to really feel good, so thanks for the feedback. But I'm glad you liked it!

This is a really great game! The art and music were on point, and the core game mechanic was creative and interesting. It took me a bit to understand how it worked (at first I just thought it was random, which was frustrating), but once I understood that you could control whether you double jump/dash/fall it made the game much more enjoyable. It was still a tough game and I wasn't able to finish (I might come back and try later) but it felt like something I could probably get the hang of with a little more practice.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Whenever I do a game jam, I always tune the difficulty to me, instead of thinking about a new player, so they're always really hard. The movement is really fun once you do get the hang of it though. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it!

I found myself loving the presentation of this a lot – the opening story is great, and the protagonist has a really fluid set of animations which work nicely with the game feel. I also really liked the basic moveset too. I think there's some polish you could add to the level design, but the platforming basics are pulled off shockingly well for a 48 hour game jam. Very nice!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! A lot of that level design happened sleep deprived at 2am, so I agree about the polish needed. I'm glad you liked it!

The art and music was really cool! Had my issues with the controls – I did understand that it was about the direction of movement, but it was quite frustrating and could have been better if it would have been just about which of the directional buttons you press with shift at that moment.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I didn't really see the issues with the learning curve since I'm the one who made it. A more intuitive option like that would've definitely helped. I'm glad you liked the rest though! Thanks for playing!

very cute but the struggled with the controls they just seemed unreliable and hard to control, the idea was great and everything else was too

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

The art was Amazing! And the menu design was the most creative one I've seen in any game today. I did feel the movement was a little hard to get the hang of, but that could just be me lol. The music was beautiful as well.

Amazing Job!!

Developer

Thanks! The pause menu jump ended up being a bit of a jump scare lol, but I'm glad you liked it! And it's not just you, the learning curve ended up being WAY too steep. Thanks for playing!
