This game is genius!
It's like curling only a lot more random and complicated!
First of all, it's super cool that you managed to produce such a mechanics-rich game while also creating your own art and music. Robot characters remind me a lot of old plasticine games like the neverhood or vangers, which is really cool.
From the point of gameplay, I appreciate the surprising amount of strategic depth that can be found here. Since a lot of the game is about giving effects to some dice in a radius you can try and push enemy's dice around to disrupt their combinations, just like in curling. Alternatively you can try to send in one of your huge debuff dice. And if the die ends up on the undesired side you can reroll it with other die, so the order in which you throw them is also important, great stuff all around!
Balance is a bit off, as it's very easy to just build a lot of dice at the same location with dollar signs and then buff them to deal massive damage, but that's to be expected from a 48 hours jam game. There even exists some counterplay to such tactics, so maybe it's an AI issue.
I didn't expected to like this game as much as I did, especially after seeing how many mechanics there are to learn, but man did it click for me.
I liked the game! The gameplay was very well-oriented. The game was very creative too! Th mechanic to bounce off it is very well developed!
BEST OF LUCK:)
Quite good game. First I miss the '<- Start Here' text and went to battle with the hardest robot and immediately die, but then I found the text. When I defeated the first enemy I was pleasantly supprised, that I can change one dice, because it adds new dynamic to the game. The game waas also really good ballanced for me. I didnt winn everytime, so there was a challange for me.
But the game was too complicated for me to fully understand and plan my actions, but playing to minimize enemy's highest values was also fun.
Also I was really suprised to hear that you made the game in custom engine. I was having some trouble with my Antivirus, but then I managed to get it working.
Overall good job.
i really like the concept of the game, i don't think i've seen any other game yet, where one of the goals is to reroll dice by launching other dice at them.
but very important: i did take me quite a while to understand the actual concept of the game!
i think you could've made the way the dice interact with eachother more explicit, and that it would've helped make the mechanics clear.
generally i prefer tutorials that teach you by playing, rather than reading about how the game works.
i would've enjoyed some rolling sound effect for when you roll the die
also i think the volume of the music overshadows the soundeffects a bit, but the music really fits your game well!
another important part for me is that this game genuinely is quite fun
good job!
The presentation is fantastic here - the music fits perfectly and the art style is unique and well done. I was confused for a bit when starting but did manage to pick it up after a bit, maybe more feedback for the player could benefit the experience. Regardless, I enjoyed playing the game and was really impressed by the overall presentation and creativity - good job! :)
This game a bit difficult to pick up but once I did I really enjoyed it. The mechanic of bouncing dice off over dice is addicting!
Very cool - great concept and looks excellent!
Wow, REALLY good looking and REALLY creative. Liked it a lot! GJ!!
I really enjoyed it. It took me a while to get the hang of it and what the numbers mean but then I started to enjoy the tension of getting the right roll and blocking my opponent. Overall great job!
This game’s concept is very interesting, but I think players may be exposed to a bit much from the get-go. I think there’s a lot of room for strategy, but it’s not clear what a player can do in any given situation.
Outside of that, this game’s presentation is rather well done. Great work, this could be a fantastic post-jam game.
This was pretty fun! It was a bit overwhelming at the start though.
Nice work, there's a really solid concept here if you were to expand on it! My major note is the same as everyone else's, in that there's so many moving parts and elements that it's a bit overwhelming to start with. Not having time for a proper tutorial is a common problem for a 48 hour jam (my game has the same issue) so I wouldn't worry about it too much, and once you learn the rules there's a good bit of strategy and depth to the game. Also really liked the music!
Thank you for your feedback. We really wanted to get a tutorial fight in but honestly only programmed in the different dice during the final hours of the jam so we just knew something needed to be there. Balancing and more ideas coming after jam for sure.
Nice game! A bit hard to understand the rules at first
Yeah I'd like to go back in and make some better visual effects for various mechanics. Also adding a few more simpler battles maybe to get your feet wet with some of the simpler mechanics before having a bunch all happening at once would probably help.
Great game with an amazing concept truly impressed. Good job!
Thanks so much!
nice game, a liitle hard to understand
I think there are a few things that contribute to this and I'd like to address a few after the jam. Thanks for playing though!
Very cool game! It's a little hard to get the hang of at the start, but after you've figured it out it's very enjoyable!
Totally agree with the hard to start part. Thanks for sticking through it!
This was areally well thought out game, though I wish more time had been spent on tutorials, I really enjoyed it
Yup I totally agree, and we might do some work post jam to make a better on-ramp experience. It ended up being a pretty tight fit to even have a complete game experience so it didn't leave much time for tuning the dice and the battles perfectly, nor making sure all the mechanics that were happening were visually apparent. Thanks for playing our game!
Really well-made game with very interesting mechanics once you figure out how it all works. Also, something that is really impressive is the amount of content you managed to do within a 48 with a custom engine! Really good work!
Thanks again for playing!
This is cool! I got a bit lost in what each dice did, though!
Yup, we ended up having quite a few more effects in play and not enough time to make them all visually demonstrated. Hopefully the tooltip system helped. We will probably spend some time tuning the dice types and organizing which dice the bosses and grunts use a bit better. Thank you for playing!
