One of the most mechanically sound games this jam, and when great mechanics meet thoughtful level design, a lot of fun can be had. Also love the style of font / animation / UI, giving the game a frantic touch that matches the sound design and difficulty of levels. Given the frequency of switch between tools in sandbox mode, would've preferred if each tool was rather assigned a number key rather than a left / right scrollthrough, but a tiny criticism in light of the many, many things done beautifully in this game. Great job, friends!
I love the presentation of this game and I had a lot of fun breaking the game by spamming the crate. But that meant I didn’t really have to engage with the puzzles. The levels also felt a bit repetitive. I would have liked to see more intentional level and game design. Maybe put a limit on the amount of blocks you can place or make it so you can only place blocks while on the ground?
i really enjoyed this, very unique concept! the way the tools work together is awesome, and figuring out how they interact with each other felt fun and rewarding. even when I got myself stuck or buried under stuff, it always felt like my own fault. this is a really strong entry, great job!
I freaking love physics puzzle platformers so this was a delight to play. I love the way the different tools synergize and I felt really smart when I discovered some of the tricks I could do with them. I really like the inclusion of a challenge mode that requires you to find the par solution for a puzzle.
One thing I wish could be different is to remove the flashing effect during the level transition as it did hurt my eyes a little bit. Other than that, this is really good!
This game is a ton of fun! I feel like the par is a little tough to try to get (I guess that's the point) The progression is very nice and the levels are designed super well! If I end up not being able to beat a level or trapped under a thousand boxes it feels like it's my own fault and I love it.
I had way too much fun just goofing around with the items after a point and got totally sidetracked from the goal, but I guess that's a good problem to have. Solid game overall!
Wow, this is an interesting game! Really love the art! Not an easy game but a lot of fun!
danke schön!
Amazing game! It was a bit tough to figure out the items - I'm glad you added the sandbox mode, challenge would have made me rage-quit if that had been the first thing I tried, but just playing around with infinite boxes and boards was a lot of fun and got me hooked. I actually played through the whole sandbox without figuring out what the nail does :D
I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! The sandbox mode was a bit of a last-minute addition for the exact reason you mentioned. We had a lot of fun messing around with infinite items during development and figured it would be a good way to introduce players to the mechanics without throwing them in the deep end. The nail freezes objects in place :)
I really like the premise of the game, though the controls were confusing to wrap my head around. I never did figure out how to switch what tool/item I was using. I think I would have enjoyed it before if you could have introduced a single mechanic at a time (and maybe I just didn't get far enough to see that) but I couldn't figure it out on my own.
Hi! The controls are in the description of the game :) Hope this helps!
Really fun game, I love the nail gun mechanic!
Thanks, glad you had fun!
Very fun game machanics and beautyful end screen :D
In Sandbox mode i managed to do some cool skillshots which felt really good but not sure if this is intended since i didnt go far in challenge mode. What i did in sandbox mode was shoot a crate in the air then switch to nailgun and pin the crate midair. Then grapple to victory :D
Yup, this was 100% intended :) A key part of the design philosophy was creating items that could interact with each other in fun ways, even if it wasn't necessarily realistic!
Cute game with a fun and cool premise that allows for some really interesting puzzle designs! I loved the different tools and how they not only interacted with the environment but also with each other. Unfortunately, I found a bug that only allowed my character to face the left, so <I couldn't place objects to the right, which made some levels impossible :( But other than that I found this game to be a super strong entry :D Good job guys!
Glad you liked it! I haven't encountered that issue before, was the game ignoring your mouse position?
Great art. Love the squiggly trippy intermissions and the blue noodle guy. Took me a while to figure out that you could nail wood in place, but after that it was easy. Then I tried challenge mode, and it was not easy. Cool concept and theme!
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game! Originally, challenge mode was the only way to play, but it was decided to have sandbox mode so as not to turn away players because it was too challenging due to our lack of time to balance the game.
Awesome art style. Funny sounds.
I would like it if there was a "reset level" button, since you can get hard-locked in a level by wrongly placing stuff. Also, some simple control explanations would be nice.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game! Fortunately, there is a restart button. It's R. This control and others are located in the game's description.
My bad. I'm blind. Probably best to include the controls somewhere in the actual game for blind ones like me lmao
You're right, lol. We had intended to put tutorials in the game but ran out of time.
