Did you work in a team?
Just me :D

Was the resolution a challenge?
Yes, specifically for text. I found that the limit res actually made art easier for me however, I'm a terrible pixel artist and the constraints let me focus on the shape of the thing I wanted.

What did you learn?
A ton, especially about 2d games and working with tilemaps. I've been primarily doing 3d games recently and this has been a blast.

A big thing for me that I did this jam was make my own music for the first time. I used Bosca Ceoi and it felt really good to make music that actually sounded like music.

my score \o/ I think im no1? woo!

It was all over once I found the spear and the trap! ^^ really good game, I love the digging walls mechanic paired with crypt of the necrodancer movement. Great Game! and funny ending :)

Nice little rougelike.  Music was good and the flooding mechanic was an interesting twist on the genre.

Interesting twist on the true rougelike formula, having some impetus to rush helps make the game exciting in a way most games in the genre aren't. The tutorial was a very nice addition. It would be nice if there were more healing options available, there were red things in some walls but digging them up didn't really do anything. Enemies had a lot of variety and seeing them lurk around corners was great. The sounds were also a good addition. One thing that might count as a bug: In the final stage, the compass should probably point towards the actual end rather than the top left corner.

Sweet game! Managed to finish it after some trial and error. Some things were a bit confusing, like what the "armor" does, and at first I thought that some cave tiles were health pickups. And nice job on the tutorial.

very good idea, like the random generation. Music is nice, thanks for showing me a new tracker to play around with.

You've managed to put an impressive amount of work into this! The procedural dungeons really add to the replayability, and the graphics as well as the audio make this feel like a complete experience. Good job!!

Cool game! I liked digging around in the caves. The lighting effects are a nice touch. Good job!

An excellent roguelike! The time flew by unnoticed. It’s easy to figure out how to play (I never played Crypt of the Necrodancer). Background music is what it should be. Level generation is done right. I also noticed two technical issues:

  1. Godot .pck file size is over 500 megabytes, this is abnormally for this game. For example, my game has 1.5 megabytes.
  2. Something wrong with z-index in shot below:

This did not affect the ⭐️ rating in any way! Great game overall!

Fun game, it was running a bit laggy i dont know if its just me or a problem with the browser port.

It took time, but I managed to beat it :D
The only thing I did not get is health potions especially when they appear to drop out of chests, but give nothing and how to switch weapon if it switchable at all. Otherwise nice combat, pretty easy once understood.

Great work!

good job.

Cool entry! Who knew solving climate change was that easy.

It took me a minute for me to figure out the combat, but once I did I had a lot of fun juggling some of those encounters! Good job with the music, I always enjoy using Bosca Ceoil during jams. I really liked the way the song slows down as you get deeper. It gave a really cool weight to exploring.

Nice job!

It's a good game. The rushing water element adds a good twist in the dungeon exploration, and the art and music goes really well with the game. Good job!

The only issue I had during the gameplay was the collision on the first level! Also the font is a little hard to ready, I think a lot of the game is lost because of that. Other than that very good job :D !!!

Congratulations on making this game !

I've played your game during a live that you can watch here :

I hope the feedback and live reactions will be useful to you. Keep it up !

Really fun core gameplay loop, with way more depth than I initially thought. Trying to plan moves so as not to get trapped, especially when there's multiple enemies in a small space, and making sure I moved quickly enough to escape the water was a great challenge.

The music is great - fits the game really well. Love the touch of making the dungeon theme slower as you descend, definitely adds to the tension :

Great first outing where the music is concerned, may folks never make it that far!  It felt challenging without being too frustrating, but boy did I love the pressure the water put on me to keep moving forward.  Great stuff!

Nice story and a very particular animation approach, Nice work, and nice first ride on music composition!

Reminded me a bit of Crypt of the Necrodancer.

Some of the story elements popping up broke the vibe I was getting into. It would be tricky to make it unobtrusive with a lower resolution so totally understand the reason why it had to stop gameplay.

Sounds great. I dig the way the character moves and the game has a lot of character. Good job!
