Description
This is the soundtrack of a plateformer game : the concept is, a young girl, Emma, just moved from France to Yukon. She know nothing about snow, the pine forest, the new town she's in. She try to understand all thoses change with her childish eyes, and it translate by a daydream : the journey of a small artic fox in a snowy forest, fighting dark thought and everything that has ever scared Emma.

The first track, "By The Windows", is the title screen and the beginning of the dream : she imagine the small fox running in the snowy forest.
I tried to convey the mood of the little girl, and took inspiration of the OST of the game "Child of Light".

The second track "Owl Encounter" is the first level soundtrack : it start as a scary pine forest, dark and dangerous, until she encounter a funny big owl who will become her guardian.
I tried to convey the feeling of being alone, and using leitmotiv make it suddenly funny and reassuring. I took inspiration from the many goofy characters of the Zelda licence.

The last track "Monster Machine" is the first boss theme : Emma, while exploring her new home, found a nearby quarry. She saw one of the monstruous quarry truck, and it scared her enough for it to become her nemesis in her dreams.
The bossfight oppose the small fox and the giant machine, inhabited by demonic forces that make it alive.
I tried to convey the feeling of epicness and battle, and a little bit of doubt and fear, with a really "mechanical" feeling track , and used the leitmotiv from "By the windows" to make it epic.

Thanks for your attention ! See you to the next Jam !

Message from the artist
Sorry for my poor english, I'm a dyslexic french composer, I'm having a hard time !

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
I thought a cute little game about the inner world of a child who discover a new "world" by moving to a new country would be quite fun and pleasing.
It fit the theme in two ways : first, it's a journey in the inner world of Emma, and it's also her interpretation of the World around her.
It gave me the opportunity to explore the world of childhood, feelings, and fears.

'Owl Encounter' is my absolute favourite of the three.  The tremolo on the strings creates the perfect sense of dread, and then turning the whole tone of the composition around in such an abrupt way totally works.

'By the windows' just *sounds* like a title theme, I can see the menu and everything in my head.

I really like the synth in 'Monster Machine', it adds such a sense of tension and urgency, total boss battle vibes.

Really not a bad thing to say about any of these, *this* is the level of composition and mixing I aspire to.

this is sick, machine monster slaps!

I liked the interpretation of the theme being someone moving somewhere completely different than they are used to. It was very unique.

The nature sounds were also very nice!

The switch up in owl encounter was both unexpected and funny and I absolutely got zelda skyward sword  vibes!

Great work!

The tracks fit the scenes well, can really feel the world. Also, love the narrative.

Got a bit of a Night in the Woods vibe from the "Owl Encounter".

Such an immersive track, I love the overall sound you achieve! And the dramatic yet cohesive shift in tone in 'Machine Monster' is fantastic, really added a depth to the overall OST that I enjoyed a lot. Great job!

What a fun submission! Quality is on point, and I loved the creativity in your compositions. The first track was elegant and thoughtful, and I got lost in the melodies paired with the ambient guitar and keys. The Owl Encounter started off ominous and creepy with excellent use of string techniques, only to subvert my expectations with a whimsy latter half. I wasn't expecting the final track to be a creative machine-heavy boss theme that still kept my immersion through the presence of those delicate strings, perfectly meshing together with the synths and foley. Gotta give credit where credit's due, I don't have anything to criticize. Amazing job. :D

This is a very beautiful soundtrack, and the motifs are catchy. Very nice owl music <3

The storytelling with owl encounter was so good, and that first part reminded me of PvZ lmao. i really liked the percussion in monster machine, reminded me of the donkey kong country games! overall great work!

I love the variety throughout the whole OST as it makes each track feel fresh while at the same time all coming together to create the bigger picture. The quirky section in Owl Encounter was a really fun change of pace that I thought was brilliant! I could absolutely see the narrative playing out that you described :3

Also, your English is great! I'm not French, and English is my first language,  but I am dyslexic, so I feel some of your pain, haha.

By The Window was such a well put together composition! I liked the way you utilized leitmotifs throughout the 3 tracks. Each song was completely different but never felt disjointed. I enjoyed the tense then whimsical nature of Owl Encounter, and Monster Machine heavy hitting and catchy! Great job!

Love the storytelling you did in the arrangements, really loved the way Owl Encounter was sectioned, literally put a smile on my face when the mood shifted.  Reminded me a lot of Zelda and Earthbound/Mother gimmicks.  Very fun listen, very nice mix too.

Interesting concept, I like the zelda inspiration. Owl Encounter is very creative, really like the chords in the first part.

I love your universe and instrumentation. Such changes in tone, in arrangement and in style, yet it's very coherent. Very good :D

Nice work, and great instrumentation !
There is a lot of variation in the different tracks, especially in the second half of Owl Encounter that feels like Beedle's Shop (ou Terry en français) in Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass with percussions, which is really nice.
Also the main motif of By The Window reminded me a lot of the intro of Man Of The Edge by Iron Maiden for some reason (pretty sure that one wasn't intentional, but it's interesting to notice still).
Enfin bref, très bon album et bravo !

By The Window: Loving the harmonies. some cool extensions.

Owl Encounter: Love how you kept the descending natural minor progression from the first track and made it used harmonic minor instead for some extra darkness. Really cool chord around 1:10. Lol the mood shift! Love the shift to mixolydian, very Zelda like.

Machine Monster: The original motif but chopped up! Love the introduction of a tech feel into the OST.

Great work! Fun ost.

Owl in the cover: 👹

Owl in the song: 🤪

The first part of "Owl Encounter" reminds me of Plant Versus Zombies lol! The glitchy piano in the beginning of "Machine Monster" is fun as well. I only wish the percussion in that song was a hair louder. Overall a solid entry!

My favorite was Owl Encounter with the switch up towards the end! I especially love your sound design by adding stuff like owl hoots in your compositions. A very interesting OST that goes to places that I did not expect (especially Machine Monster) Good work!

Sampling By the Window for Machine Monster was such a cool idea. This is great work :)

You have some serious composition skills, my friend. I'm so glad I listened to your tracks before reading the description because that switch up in Owl Encounter genuinely got me! You presented a lot of great ideas in just three tracks and you should be really proud of that. Great submission!

You're gonna get this a lot, but I'm hearing the love for Zelda all over this. I love your melodic ideas and the places you go with the instrumentation as the OST progresses. Great work!
