Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Incognito'd and loaded it.

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You zap mushrooms with your space laser (cursor) in a tower defense survival mashup style game. Why? Reasons!

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You're a intelligent (maybe) space satellite weapons platform. Your avatar in the game is the reticle/sight of the laser that passively burns it's area and blast holes in the earth for enemies to fall in too. I tried to make it fairly intuitive by being simple and adding dialogue/upgrade text. More tips in the game description though.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
First game! Balance is hard while trying to learn a lot at the same time. Have fun, I did!

This game was really satisfying, kind of like popping bubble wrap. If I had one piece of feedback it would be to delay the start of the game after the player picks an upgrade. Sometimes the spores were on a satellite and I clicked the power up all the way on the left, and then I didn't move my mouse back to where the enemies were fast enough. But this game was really fun! Great job :D

Thanks! Good to hear, I recorded the 'pop' SFX myself. Totally right on that pain point, that will be fixed in the post-judging update along with a lot of other polish.

Really nice game! Feels like a tower defense version of Vampire Survivors, but I hope that the upgrades has a little delay. When I spam my mouse to put down holes and the upgrade pops up, I basically instantly select an upgrade without seeing what it is.

But really fun!

Very cute and addictive :) Despite the simplicity - it was quite satisfying, maybe due to that popping sound :D

The upgrades and game-play is a bit too passive - after level 3 or so - I didn't even move the mouse and just waited for enemies to die :) Even in the last level, I didn't have to move, which kinda removes any challenges.

Overall - great submission, especially for the first one, and kudos for Godot :)

This was a lot of fun. The gameplay kinda reminds me of nodebuster and I love that game. It's fun getting the upgrades and just wrecking all the monsters as they come in. And I like that the last level was a bit challenging and my strategy of just having the circle stand over the satelites didn't suffice so I had to try harder. Great work on this it's cool!

Fun and addictive! The gameplay is very intuitive and the upgrades make you want to keep playing. The different enemy types add very nice visual variety and the tone of the narration makes for an overall enjoyable experience. Great job!

Being a mobile tower from a tower defence game was a fun twist. The art is really charming and nostalgic, the writing between levels is great, and the UI is super easy to navigate. Scaling the size of your AoE at the slight cost to damage is a really fun decision to manage in real-time, added a lot to the gameplay!
I like to think our entries are set in the same universe, S.O.B.B. and RAPIER 06 could be good friends imo. Sure, RAPIER 06 doesn't seem very talkative, or smart, but it's a good listener. At least, it might be listening.
Great work, that was fun!

Loved the dialogue, gameplay was super addicting and I would love to see more types of upgrades. I like the idea of scaling your AOE for different purposes and the constant stream of enemies is very satisfying. Great game, great job!

Great game! played until finishing. very satisfactory SFX. liked the mechanics. I see some space for expansion (maybe more campains or challenge mode without certain upgrades).

Loved it. The gameplay loop is very satisfying and hearing the crunches of those spores dying is unbelievable. Great work!

Really good games, especially first one. I am a frontend guy so visuals are the first thing that I notice :) Gameplay wise it was great, enjoyed different levels and the dialogs. Your art style is consistent so it works with the whole game. I want to give some comments on possible improvements:
1. Find and use different font. Its relatively small effort but can greatly improve the visual appearance
2. I mentioned it already for another game but to me it wasn't cool that upgrades appear immediately. I was so focused shooting the mushrooms that I accidentally picked up idk what several times. I'd like it to be an explicit decision, like separate button and maybe some indication that I can choose something

Mostly these are the main comments :) Overall there is room for growth at least from UI & polishing perspective but you already have the main key of success - Fun and/or addictive game. Prototype version is done (congratulations), next you can challenge yourself with appearance. Maybe you can exclusively make it an old school styled game. The sky and your imagination is the limit. Wish you good luck and to continue on your amazing progress!

Thank you for the thorough feedback and motivation. I'll definitely do some extra polishing passes!

It's simple but really fun, the popping sound is almost addictive haha, and i loved the jokes between each level. A pretty enjoyable game!

I love this art and the concept of this!

Nice little game! If I'm clicking a lot and the upgrade screen comes up i accidentally click it before i recognize it's there. Congrats on the first game!

Tower Defense is one of my favorite genres, and I think this is a very cool take on it! I like how you took a genre that is typically kind of passive (i.e., you build and wait, occasionally upgrading towers) and turned it into a really active, frenetic experience. I also really enjoyed the art style. It felt very Command & Conquer.

Congrats for submitting. It feels really satisfying having a lot of small enemies in your area circle. I also like the effect of the small holes with steam effect when an enemy died. Good job!
