  • This was a well made game! Loved the humor (binjamin -_-) and the bad reviews, of which I got plenty. Tutorial is great, I would have the gameplay intro be slower - but that's personal preference since memorization is not my thing. While the theme implementation is pretty straightforward, I appreciate the effort and quality of your work.

Very cool game! I love the vibes! Great work!

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words :)

This game is awesome, super well polished!

I didn't understand how to create those colored elixirs at first. I didn't realize they have their own page in the potion book 😅

I love the game, hope to see it ranked high by the judges!

Developer

Super glad you got to figure the liquids out at the back of the book :)

We had done some early playtesting and found that was a common issue, but we just had no time to make solid changes to it hahaha

These kinds of games are one of my favorite, and this is a great take on it! The pressure mounting from harder and harder potions mixed with the darkness blocking your vision to ingredients moving around on you, all make for a complex and challenging game.

I enjoyed this, really fun sounds and effects, reminding me a lot of Rayman at the start. I liked getting better and remembering the combinations. The swirly effect made things a lot more stressful but a good challenge.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to find firewood at the start but really well made game!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and also, we had a very last minute discussion on wanting to make the firewood easier to notice😅 sadly we just didn’t have time to implement any of them, at least you noticed eventually though haha

This might be one of the most fun potion makers that I've played. From the voice acting (if you can call it that ;) ) to the visuals and fun written dialogue that pushes you to make the potion faster, even though they had ordered like 3 seconds ago! Well done with this one! There was this yellow potion thing I couldn't figure out and the icon was not in one of the ingredient tiles, but when I reset it wasn't in the recipes so I could make all the potions I wanted! :)

Developer

Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed !

the nightmares of  the customers still haunt me to this day, hahah.

This is a seriously cool and well executed game! I love the puns and the voice acting, haha. The, visuals, music, mechanics, all very well done. Great work! My only gripe was that I couldn't figure out where the firewood was - I didn't recognise it because I was looking for the icon itself. I restarted the game once because of it, only to later accidentally click on it under the table. Anyway, this is an excellent game and something you should definitely continue working on!

Developer

yeah hahah we had a, last minute discussion on wanting to make the firewood easier to notice sadly we just didn’t have time to implement any of them, its just one of those things.

Cheers man!!

Very nice looking game and I like the well fitting music and sound effects!

Tbh I skipped the tutorial and just tried on my own and intuitively knew what to do. Really good design.

Really nicely done!

Developer

Thanks so much! I feel guilty of skipping tutorials all the time on game jams after playing a few games, glad it came across easily for you!

I had a tough time learning but I slowly became a master at brewing potions. Loved this game!

Developer

Thanks so much! The first time playing it can be overwhelming for sure but I’m glad it got easier as you kept playing!

Submitted(+1)

Great stuff! All around a hectic good time :D lots going for it! I’d change the tutorial to be more of a “here try this step” vibe but given its a game jam and a fairly straightforward mechanic it all works out rather nicely :)

Yeah,  your right haha.

Thought a "sample potion":  that was the better way of explaining  "how to play" and then we ran out of time.  it be like that sometimes hehe

I'm glad you enjoyed though. :D

I know the feeling hahaha

This is amazing!
Tickles the part of my brain that loves the Papa's Pizzeria style games. Love the amount of polish that's been poured into this!

Thanks man, Glad you enjoyed! means a lot to us ! :D

really enjoyed the atmosphere. I originally skipped the tutorial and that was a mistake. went back and played the game with the tutorial and everything made a lot of sense. Very well done is very replayable!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed my dude.

hehe, I do not blame you for skipping tutorials we have all done it millions of times xD

Submitted(+1)

This is so great! I love that the ingredients were different all times that I played. The "mee-mee-moe" voice is hilarious. I loved the client hands reaching up to the window. 10 out of 10, would play this again. You've got a follow from me.

Developer

Thanks my dude, means a lot!

The customer voice's are tormenting me in my dreams hahahah

Binjamin is super cute, btw.

Liked art style and that game runs smooth in browser on me end.
But, think, game starts a lil too complicated.

Developer

We are thinking of implementing a test customer in the tutorial, to slow things down a bit, so you can get a feel of making potions. slow down the pacing.

Binjamin  says CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!

Submitted(+1)

Fun and difficult, at my first run I did't realized there was a page on the rigth side of the book. xD

I find that ingredients rotation is really good for the gameloop !

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks my dude!

Game can be hard and stressful!

Man this game is so much fun, well polished, and looks great! Excellent work, absolutely loved it

This game has so much character & charm!  A lot of fun to play and get the hang of, there's so much depth!

Developer

Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed!

Developer

Also big fan of the videos! Keep 'em up!

Submitted(+1)

Lot's of fun! Feels a little bit too fast at the start. Otherwise awesome!

Developer

Thanks man. Yeah took us awhile to get the hang of to, and we created the game hahah.

We are thinking of implementing a test customer in the tutorial.  instead of showing you how to play.

A lot of fun! I love the voice acting and the urge to maximize speed with the stress of the game flow. It could be interesting to add some keyboard functions to aid in the speed - for example, using A or D to swap between screens or number keys to swap between recipe tabs.

Great work!

Developer

That was the plan with the voice acting. hehe glad you liked it.

Good suggestion with the A-D moving around the screen. Can add some multitasking smoothness if added, defiantly something to discuss.
