That's a super well made 8bit game, simple but appealing! Sound design is really good too.

The visual style and sound effects are unparalleled, and the film also employs clever scare tactics. You've handled the retro aspect very well.

I really love this horror letter to old games; it reminds me a lot of another game from this decade called Faith (I imagine you took inspiration from it). I found the walking sound a bit annoying, but the rest of the game is GREAT, especially the faces that appear on the screen—they really unsettled me (in a positive way)

Looks cool, but the sounds are a bit overwhelming to my ears. The ending with hell is cool. I don’t understand how the dog appears, just randomly? I left the location and immediately entered it and there was a dog there. I also found a book in the forest but you can’t interact with it, is it just a sprite or some kind of secret? So many questions...

That was a super freaky game! I got anxious every time a message said that the monster was near by. D:

I think the endings are:

1. The monster kills you.

2. You find Peanut and return home.

3. ????? I thought this was unlocked by hitting the monster with a speeding car, but apparently, that wasn't it since I would get the message saying "You are dead" and the game returning to the main screen.

4. You get struck by a speeding car.

5. You go to a coal mine and go to hell.

i got 4 out of 5 endings enjoyed a lot exploring the city, there is a lot of little details and the endings are sick, specially end 5, really really cool

I usually have a really hard time getting into pixel horror games, but this one really got me immersed. Great job!

you aced the aesthetic of old spectrum adjacent computer games. really great stuff, love the story on the page too. great work!

This is an insanely good game! Well done! You've even thought about collision of monster with a car!

well made game. can feel slow though.

Ooh, this is going to be one of the top games I can tell. Great aesthetic, love the story. Got 4/5 endings, couldn't figure out what ending 3 was. Sorry for taking you to hell Peanut.

Not going to even lie, my ears blew with the intro, but the style and vibe just made it all worth it. What a smooth game with fun gameplay and like good scares.

I cannot deal with the faces, every single time it's just pure dread. Love it. Amazing work.
Got few of the endings but I think I will try and get all of them lol

I love the creepy pasta story. The pixel art is excellent and it is exactly how it should look like, same for the sound design, which is also very clever, pointing out the direction from where the cars are coming from, for instance. I got 4 endings so far... time to try to find Peanut! Very well done.

did four of the endings, retro style looks great and background faces are pretty unsettling! combination of backgrounds and messages does a great job at being spooky

I saved Peanut! will check out other endings too, but gotta say that I love your approach to colors. It looks so well put together considering it was made for a game jam. It gets spooky, even silly at times (found the yo mama joke on a wall). Congrats on delivering such coherent experience!

also love the faces that appear in background

I very nearly didn't pull it off as creating the map proved to be more of a slog than expected. The reason the map looks a little bitty when you press enter and view it is because I had to take out some areas for time. Originally the game was also supposed to have an allotment area and an industrial estate. But to be honest the map is large enough as it is and Peanut doesn't need even more places to be hiding haha.

Hee-ho. Very cool style (art and sound). I can't win (every times died from red monster)

Developer

When the monster comes for you you can hide inside a house with the lights on if you can reach one in time. But don't leave straight away because you need to give it time to move on

Amazing sound design and graphics. Love it

it looks like a lot of love went into the art, it looks sick. The sounds were very loud but overall some great sound choices. Pretty spooky, got 2 of the endings so far

What a joy! The graphics and sound design are fantastic, making the whole experience feel great.
