Super stylish, super juicy. Great job. Core gameplay is very solid. Sometimes I was a bit surprised when I died, felt like it sprung up on me and I didn't fully understand how the roll was affecting the traps tbh but you said some of the features didn't make it?

This would have been impressive even without your late start. Congrats. If you have time to check my game out I'd appreciate it!

Nice visual design, simple effective gameplay. Wouldn't mind more enemies, though quite often it felt like I got snuck up on or they spawned behind me so telegraphing them coming in might let you have more enemies without it feeling overwhelming

Good job

(1 edit)

I like the concept but it feels like it needs a bit more refinement. The variety of enemy types is impressive though the laser thwomp is brutal, could do with a little help on the visual design.

Juice this up a bit and I think it'll feel real good

(and now you're at 21 ;) )

Well executed idea with class visuals. Good fun. Would be interesting to see where you would take it next, more dice? weapons that divide by 2? who knows!

I did feel like the roll result being away from the player made my eyes dart back and forth a bit

This is a nice idea, easy to pick up. A nice way of using the dice too. If the enemy movement was more predicatable (I couldn't tell if they moved differently by type) I could see it getting quite tactical

Very cool idea and core mechanic. The thematic use of the dice as well as in the gameplay is really creative. The art is really nice too, very cohesive. Narratively I think you've found something awesome here about a game where you need to balance the risk of crime/cheating vs your needs or those that depend on you

Oooohh this is a few tiny tweaks away from being something really special.

The basic mechanics are fun, combining rollers and making paths is nice. The upkeep makes you think and the camera controls are nice and easy to get the hang of.

If I was to say anything, just changing some numbers around to make it more fast paced, having the starting camera so you can see the whole factory and the house. Otherwise, great stuff and nice literal use of the theme

This is hilarious, great writing. Good choice of assets and well used. The stealth mechanics were neat, not seen that this jam elsewhere. Was cool that you can roll dice to break through doors, but felt like the mechanic was a little stuck on to the really well built narrative stealth.

Very well presented, I like the variety of units and am seriously impressed with how complete a tower defense game you put together. The details on selling and upgrading towers and the incoming enemies especially!

Rolling the dice for a reward is super satisfying though can leave you fate up to chance!

The aesthetic is cool, nice and atmospheric. I enjoyed weaving my way through the levels. Not seen anything like it this jam! The thing which killed me was panic bouncing off the white ghosts when they're out of view, tricky

Well done

If you have time check out my game :)

Great combination of art, theme and gameplay. Having to think ahead and plan the moves is really neat. Super polished, could see myself playing a lot more of this. On the same theme maybe it would be cool for the red dice to roll before you take your turn so you can plan for how much space to give them.

Would have been nice to restart from the level rather than go back to the beginning.

Congrats, this is fantastic work, especially as a solo

Cool use of the theme, I think the addition rule is a really nice touch and way of adding variety. The core loop of using the gun to deflect while you manage the rng is fundamentally very strong. Nicely done

This is great fun, well polished and super easy to understand. The writing makes it easy to understand what works and what doesn't and then you can home in on the promotion. I can imagine a narrative game of this working really well

Great job!

The game is pretty funny, well done on getting a game out in the time! Not many first person shooters around this year so nice and fresh

Bazinga

Incredible game, requires a lot of thought which I liked. Relaxing but stimulating. A really unique experience in this jam.

Can be quite challenging if you draw the same number a few times in a row! I wonder if you could have a save box like in tetris to buffer a number for later.

I really enjoyed this. Simple concept that's fun especially with the timer pressure coming in. As others have said switching out the odd/even for something you have to think about would be good to add some extra skill in. I could you see you doing time-boxed segments so you get the rush of the timer coming in before it relaxes a bit. Or even.. multiple dice. Can tell it's a great concept because it gets me thinking. Well done

I like this idea a lot, wish I had someone to try two player with because I can see it getting super tangled. I felt like the letter switches could have come a bit quicker to ramp the difficulty but that's personal preference. Nicely done!

Well done on finishing this! It must have been hard to not have your teammate.

I like that taking damage re-rolls you to an effect. I can see that expanded, the moon gravity was great. It might be tricky, but I can imagine if you had things like moon gravity, shrink, grow you could create a level where your route through it changes depending on what you roll.

Physics and movement could do with some refinement

Nice job

This is great fun, well polished and good game feel. Nice responsive controls and good audio, especially the voice lines.

When going quickly across the screen sometimes I felt like I died to an asteroid I couldn't see from the side. A minor thing

Well done!

The graphics are really clean and nice, the music fits the vibe and the little touches of the level falling into place and the dice falling off the stage are great. The levels themselves were nicely designed but not too challenging. Would be cool to see another mechanic mixed in there

Made me think! I enjoyed the puzzle design, especially trying to produce the same number a few times in a row gave me a bit of an aha moment. The effect tiles were a good touch and unique point. For game feel would love either to be able to hold the button or buffer it with the movement. Nicely done

The preview system is really neat, you could even draw a line on the screen so you can remember the path you've taken! It helps me think through the puzzle solution. Being able to execute the moves a bit quicker and smoother would take it to the next level.

Well done

The concept is fun and very well presented. It's great when you hit the jumps but I found the physics quite unpredictable. You could change the dice to a different shape as the levels get completed (cube, 5 sided, 4 sided, 3 sided, coin) to avoid the rerolling problem. Alternatively if there was something you could gain from repeating a level could be cool to incentivise that, maybe extra re-runs or a modifier.

Well done

thanks for your kind feedback!

The enemies were supposed to get new powers along with you! I just looked through the code.. I.. forgot to assign a variable. No sleep me didn't pick up on it 😅 That'll be the first thing for the next version

Super impressive the amount of content here, the dice art and animation is nicely done. Upgrades and recruiting were a fun mechanic.

Good concept, some polish would make this awesome

Cool concept, absolute chaos which I enjoyed spinning the dice dots and pinging the balls all over the place. Music and sound design were excellent especially the little air hockey type noises.

The level rotating and exploding was cool both gameplay and visually but would have like a bit more of a visual warning about what was going to happen. I wonder if you could go further and guide balls through a level! Or as you mentioned in other comments try and score

Awesome work

Simple idea nicely done, tough to beat the levels! Can't rush through it, have to plan some shimmys in to go into a safe space which I think fits nicely as a way of controlling the randomness of the rolls.

A few UI tweaks would make it easier to play but overall good fun!

Well done on getting this out on your own! The aesthetic is fun, and I didn't mind the random firing  direction (though maybe the target direction could remember your last faced direction, or even go full twinstick style). The first few playthroughs the second room was 20 enemies rushing me with no obstacles and it felt like there wasn't much I could do. Bad luck I think because I had a few good runs after that.

Upgrading weapons, loot and things would make this a compelling roguelike

Whoops! There's something up with my internet I think.. happened on another game too

Have a look at twilight princess snowpeak ruins, or minish cap temple of droplets ice puzzles. The blocks keep going until they hit an obstacle.

If you get a chance would be great to know what you think of my entry :), well done again!

Wow I'm amazed you made this in 48 hours. The main character is adorable and the interaction with grass with the ripples and trails is inspired.

Gameplay wise the feel of the attacks is really nice, especially the visual effects. The boss fight in the end was exciting though it felt like the players attack speed lets you bulldoze it a bit. Special mention to the camera work especially when you climb the hill into the tunnel drop

Had a bug though where after rolling the dice it seemed like I teleported out the map and fell forever.

Great job

Super polished, the screen transitions, the way you did the credits. Awesome work. I liked the music and game itself was really satisfying with super snappy controls. Enjoyed all the puzzles, and liked how the tiles actually helped you with the puzzle

The presentation is stunning, in particular the visual and sound when you pick up a new dice.  Felt super polished. As others said the text felt like it got in the way at times, the cartoon almost comic book style is stunning so I wonder if speech bubbles could have worked as a really compact way of managing the text.

Interesting puzzles and makes you think about the order you roll in. Made me think about what if there could be negative consequences for missing a roll but not sure how that would play out!

I really enjoyed this, first tower defense game I've played this jam and this was so well made. All the towers are distinct, and the enemy types are significantly different which is great to see.

I also really liked the mechanic where you could slow down an enemy by hitting it with the dice but the bounce back meant the tower wasn't in the right place. I wonder if you could have a golf style power meter to adjust the strength of the throw

This is fantastic, the dice rolls satisfyingly, the music is nice and relaxing and the geometric mental gymnastics to match the numbers I really enjoyed. As soon as I thought it needed a bit of complexity I had to restart a level for going over the gate number and it put a smile on my face.

Wasn't what I expected going in! Rolling the dice literally is a cool take on the theme. When I realised I could jump over the walls or on the stacked dice I had a really nice ah ha moment! The physics made it a bit difficult, had to restart the level a couple times to get it

Did not enjoy getting eaten by rats :p

Great job

Super juicy arcade fun. The combo numbers and stretch and squish especially. When I realised I could double jump with a jump-roll I found the mechanics real nice! I almost wanted more enemies to keep the combo going as it felt like sometimes the combo ended because of my luck than my skill.

A really strong entry, congrats! Well polished and good gamefeel. Really easy to understand, especially liked how it showed on the stage your roll so you don't have to look across. Having all 3 dice felt like a superpower with all the free rolls!

Planning moves is a bit tricky not knowing how the enemies are going to move, I wonder if you had floating walls like the old zelda ice block puzzles if it would make add or take away from the thought process.

Credit to you for a really complete feeling game, tutorial, enemy types and ui all there! The attack mechanic is fun and rolling the dice to beat a certain enemy is a good idea. Great use of the theme

Others have mentioned it could be more fast paced by menu, but I think it could be really cool to have enemies that home in on you so that you have to run and re-roll to try and be able to beat them. Might not work with your dice points mechanic

Great job!
