Game's Take on the Theme
you gain or lose spin depending on spin direction when clashing with other objects, and you must balance your spin to prevent it from going too low or too high
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
yes

I see you have inspiration from BeyBlade, me too!! I also made a game inspired by Beyblade, your game is really nice, the movement and the mechanics feel nice and cool overal, the visuals and effects are specially good. I rate graphics, control and fun the most, but all is cool, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!!
Oooo I'm a storm throwing debri at a bigger storm! Really cool! I figured out the gameplay and enjoyed it! Thanks for your submission. Feel free to try our game if you like!
This game was cool . Really took the spin theme to the heart.
You've certainly nailed the spin of the jam, the game is simple simple to learn and fun to play.
Overall I found hurling rocks at the boss useless. Even if I hit, it rarely amounts to anything, in the end the best strat I found is to just ram the boss with whichever spin moves them to the closest edge of their gauge and between hits ccollect the rocks which fill/deplete you gauge in opposition.
But other than that its a fun and interesting game
as a fellow first time jammer well done sir! You for sure gets points for theme! a lot of spin here! Though maybe the spinning camera is a bit much haha :P Great work hope we both make it in again next year!
A bit dizzy after 10min on it, so I didn't cleared the 5 and 6th boss. Other than that, the game has a Flash Game Aura, which I love ! Easy to understand, easy to handle, challenging, and also the idea behind the scene is cool ! I could see it as a part of some game in a scene with tornadoes, and the camera would switch to side from top.
Nice submission, thanks a lot for that !
This is so far one of my favorites ideas I played, even though it made me feel dizzy haha!
Pretty fun once I got the hang of it, but I would have loved a bit of a more dynamic camera that would also pan towards the boss as well.
that would look pretty epic, i should implement that as an option if i ever get around to updating the game (will need to edit the ui a bit so you can tell where the player is on the screen at a glance)
Good use of theme
I love the idea, it's really dizzying but very fun :D
Good game! I definitely felt the SPIN theme, my head started spinning after like 5 minutes. And was fun to fling the items, would have been nice if they got flung out a little faster. Also in the main menu there is a bit of a popping sound when the sound loops, I had this happen in my game, i found it happens when the sound track doesnt end on exactly zero volume. And i think if you put the spin direction directly on the player it would be a little easier to tell the spin direction (like how the objects have it), as I found having to look at the corner of the screen to see which direction i was spinning made it harder to focus on the gameplay.
Overall enjoyed the game till my head started spinning with the game, I think the camera spinning is cool but an option to turn it off would be good as I usually dont get dizzy any games but this one got me good, felt like when i spin on my chair about 20 times.
yeah i really should've added an accessibility option to turn off the camera spinning, but i am not very good with updating games after i post them online (a habit i'll need to fix if i want to make any headway as a gamedev).
i thought putting the spin direction sign on the player would look bad and clutter the screen, but in hindsight my game isn't exactly the pinnacle of graphical quality so it wont look that much worse. i'll probably add it as an option that you can turn on or off if i ever get around to updating the game
Great use of the spin theme and excellent execution in the game, it felt pretty clean. There was definitely a lot of spinningand I even got a bit dizzy since it took me a while to take down the bosses. Loved the sound design, great job!
glad you enjoyed it
sound design is haaaaard D:
Super cool mechanic! I got pretty dizzy lmao
i probably should add the option to turn off the spinning camera as an accessibility feature if i ever get around to updating this game
I think I agree with many that it is one of the best uses of the theme, the game is entertaining and quick to understand. Maybe a polish to the art and visual design in general would add points. But overall, good job.
thankssss i'm glad this game seems to be more well received that i was expecting
art is hard lol, gonna have to grind away at it as i make more games and hope my art skills improve
I'm sure you'll improve, I made great progress in just one year, there's a lot of information on the internet about color theory, shapes, etc. whether for video games or illustration in general. To knowledge! 💪
probly best take on theme from all ive tried xD why the storms have black eyes? thx for sharing.
it's the eye of the storm, y'know :P (it helps with contrast i guess? wasnt thinking that hard about the designs)
Nice take on theme, though a bit rough that if you lose, you have to start from the beginning (I died to 3rd boss, which is kinda long fight by itself)
i might have underestimated how hard it is since i was the one making and playtesting it oops :P
The mechanics are really cool, I got confused sometimes but it is because im not the best player
if i ever get around to updating the game, i'll see about making the ui clearer so it's easier to tell your (and the boss') spin direction at a glance
