Took me a while to get used to the controls, but honestly, that challenge made it even more fun! (ง •̀_•́)ง The art is absolutely stunning, with so much personality in every detail! (°▽°) And the sound design? Super satisfying—every hit and movement feels so punchy! (⌐■■) Overall, an amazing game! (b^^)b
Controls were hard to master, but I think the difficulty curve with them was fun! I ended up loving the art and punchy effects too. Nice game!
i was also struggling with forward on S instead of W. mechanics and controls besides that are very simple, engaging and fun! contrast colortheme was good. thanx for sharing :)
This was a surprise. I wasn’t expecting such a fun game. I made it to the end. It’s addictive and very well thought out in terms of boss design. I love the simple yet well-animated aesthetic. It’s a challenging game but well-balanced. I only have two minor complaints/suggestions:
I think it would make more sense if W brought you closer to the boss and S moved you away, since it feels like the player is facing the boss, and W is usually the button to move forward. I kept pressing the wrong keys throughout the game because it felt much more intuitive this way. Or you could add an option to invert the controls so that each player can adjust it to their liking.
Why "J" and "I"? Wouldn’t "J" and "K" make more sense? It’s much more comfortable and practically a standard. In my opinion, the perfect keys for this game would be arrow keys + Z and X, or WASD + J and K, and of course, the spacebar.
Anyway, this is one of the games I’ve enjoyed the most in this Jam. Great job!
I always knew the controls are going to be a problem. To be honest I didn't think about inverting the WS controls, but I tried it and I see how it can be more intuitive. About the JI, it's purely because I felt more comfortable having my hand at an angle. I didn't pay attention to what the keys actually were. I might just have weird hands :).
wonderful!
Was I really playing on easy difficulty? I feel like a noob XD m AnI love the minimalist style, it's quick and easy to get the hang of how to play. A good idea well implemented, congratulations.
you are definitely not a noob. I didn't playtest the game until after the jam, and It seems I over did it with the difficulty :D.
This is an excellent piece of work! Despite being incredibly small and using such a minimalist art style, the game delivers an intense gameplay experience! I'm amazed at how engagingly you've played around with such a simple idea—it’s incredibly captivating. I have to admit, it made me say "damn it" dozens of times, but for once, I was actually enjoying the process immensely!! This is a fantastic game! Great job!
