How does your game fit the theme?
There is Storm... There is a calm... Whatever storm or calm means.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?

Interesting, but hard. It would be better if you split the tutorial - first give only controls for the flying, on ground give controls for being on grounds
Thank you for that. Yeah, tutorial was a bit too lazy. Definitely need to improve that part of games in future!
Found your game very fun to play! Glad to see "Storm" topic gave attention to the ships :)
I've got a little confused with the controls, not gonna lie... but I've found it fun in genral, the ambience is good and i found the graphics pretty
Thank you for your feedback! This was my first time to draw, so prety graphic is a very cool compliment :)
Love the idea of the game
Good work
Can you share your thoughts on implementation? How much it was hard for you, missing visible boundaries and such...
Neat, it got me some memories of the Boxhead series from crazymonkeygames, good job!
That's some good memories to bring up! Thank you!
it got a little too quick for me
I was so afraid to make game easy, so I made it a little bit too harsh :)
Really nice and unique idea, good job!
Speaking about unique ideas, you had one too with your game!
Nice game, really creative and nice however a little confusing in the airship part but got the hang of it. The shooting feels really good and the powerups are nice.
Would have liked a system where you could hold on to power-ups though.
If you would like to rate my game here it is: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/297348 (If you do play it tell me your high score, I want to see how balanced it is)
Hey, tried to play your game but didn't understand what to do there...
Maybe you'll give some hints?
Check the plant in the house ;)
the game is fun and really creative. i really liked your creativity for example that in the start you can build the wall thats later can protect you and the shooting system was pretty satisfying. you did a good job.
one think you should do is so the player when he is fighting the monsters to be able to go through the walls because other wise he can get stuck until the monsters will come and "free him".
i would be happy if you will try and rate my game too.

Thank you for feedback! Played your game as well!
Yeah... That "stuck in the wall" bug was noticed... But was marked as "not so necessary to fix" because time limit and main gameplay mechanics were not fun.
Thanks again!
I couldn't grasp the ship part, also IDK if it happened to others but player gets stuck in places no clue why :(
Had some comments like this. Maybe that's because map borders are not visible.
During ship part player can grab "blocks" and build arena to help protect himself from monsters.
Checked your game! It must be hard to get some traction for an Unreal game in game jams...
Heya! I liked how you blended two different modes into the game, here's my feedback!
Game design feedback:
What I liked
Switching between ground and air is a neat concept. I think there's some potential to tie what you do on the ground to the ship, because I'm going around collecting these orbs but I'm not sure what they're for. They don't seem to help the ship, or if they do I'm not sure how.
Regardless, good job and I really liked the shader effect around the airship when you're in the air, pretty cool :)
Some professional quality game maker and feedback here I see.
Thank you for all the feedback you game. It's very appreciated!
Will not be surprised to see your game at the top!
Always happy to share my thoughts and thanks for the encouraging words as well! :)
Also I hope any of the feedback given isn't in any way discouraging, as I did find the concept of land to air and to be a cool one! It reminds me of a game I played called 'Dream Engines: Nomad Cities', which I also quite liked!
It's only encouraging. That's the whole reason of entering the jam. Not to win, actually.
I remember how Pavel Sasko (Lead Quest Designer at CD Project RED) played some prototype of ours many years ago at the conference. I still remember that event. People, who do game dev professionally, you give some cool and detailed feedback to think about.
Big gratitude from me! I already told you, I will be your follower from now on :)
That's awesome to hear man! :)) Also off-topic but I think we both met the same guy HAHA! I think he goes to these games conferences a lot because he also played my prototype 🤣 (which was how we met)! SMALL WORLD!
Yeah, game development community is not super big... But if to think... Each professional community is kinda small at some level...
Wow, very cool and original idea. I loved the art too. The only thing is that it took me a few tries to understand what I had to do, so maybe a small tutorial explaining the objective would be helpful. Overall, the game was really fun, and I enjoyed playing it. Good job!
Your game has some nice introductions. I need to spent more time for that in future :)
Nice game.. scary when the storm comes ;)
It might be not so scary as it is in your game :)
Extremely fun!
Your game was fun too, thank you!
Np!
Great concept having these two phases of gameplay to represent the theme, the survival shooting on the ground is satisfying! I think I may have missed some of the game's mechanics or intended gameplay, it'd be great if the page had some more instructions!
Thanks for playing and for honest feedback! It's really important to know where your weak points are.
Mine are about player teaching and presentation :)
Takes a bit to understand the mechanics but I loved the game loop! some weapons feel extremely good, like the shotgun and the automatic weapon haha
Thanks for your time! Glad you liked weapons!
My personal jam lasted only 4 days, so finding the fun was the priority.
No time for intro, I'm afraid...
loved the game, very good, but abit confusing at the start, but I dont really mind it as at mid and end, it comes all to one piece
Glad you liked it! Rated your game as well! Very nice entry!
thanks
Was a little confused at first what this is about, but after switching to the shooter it got clearer.
The two main modes are interesting, the visuals are great in the ship one.
In the shooter mode the controls seem to get stuck or don't allow you to move sometimes, and enemies can do strange stuff sometimes as well.
This game is really promising, but it needs better explaining of what's going on and how.
Great work!!
Thanks for feedback! Glad you pointed out on that weakness of mine. There is clearly some skills I need to improve!
The concept is very nice and the art is good but it is soooo hard
And I was afraid to make the game too easy :)
I think the problem is that there are too many enemy spawns and also you cant see which weapon you'll get from crates
Yeah, thanks for feedback. There are some things to think about after the jam :)
I love how this game uses the theme. The building mechanics are really fun too. God this game is hard though.
Had fun with your game, too!
This game can be played differently... Some ways are harder than others.
That's very interesting example of a "theme reversion": "Summon the storm and benefit from it". Actually, "Calm during the storm" ((:
Fresh mix of familiar mechanics, easy to catch an idea.
Already fun to play, but with proper development and polishing it can become something else...
Good job!
Calm before MONSTER Storm!
