Nice little story!! Maybe you could add a bit more juice to the conversations, like making the player able to take his own decisions and as a result there could be different endings or something. But good job anyway!! :)

W0W nice one! I enjoyed playing

Good job, wonderful pixel art in every part!

Nice work! The music and art are appealing, and there is a lot of potential. I do wish that either the text were faster, or there was an option to auto-fill the dialogue box; because of this, any unnecessary words or lines tend to stick out, making the core mechanic somewhat frustrating. Although I'm far from an expert, if I may so bold (as I do see a lot of potential), I would recommend Strunk and White's "The Elements of Style."

yeah text completion update coming as soon as rating period is over!! and is that last thing you where talking about a video?

It's a book :D A very short one, but packed with writing juice. Not for fixing (as your writing is much better than my own, haha), but for elevating, since the writing is your game's core gameplay. ^-^

Developer(+1)

Ill look into is since I had a friend do the writing so I can possibly do my own writing next time!!

Love the music and art. It's captivating. Good story as well. I could see the conversations turning into little mini-games. Nice entry!

Nice job connecting all those art music and other assets into coherent creation. Good game

Really nicely made the background and audio were great, It seems a lot of effort has been done.

Deep story and very well implemented audio + music! I noticed you've already got something prepared to deal with the slow text, so my next best input from the perspective of a "game" would be to maybe provide some meaningful actions for the player? Even seemingly small tasks like helping the builder for abit to relive old times as friends could really spice up the perks of having interactions in an otherwise already beautiful side-scrolling storybook. Just my 2 cents!

Developer

I really like this idea! I was going for a more visual novel type game but this might be a fun small thing to implement if I get the time!

Really nice graphics and audio imo, but it would've been nice to be able to skip the animations for the dialogue

Your game blends 2D and 3D elements with a captivating story, though the dialogue speed can be frustrating. The pixel art and overall graphics are impressive, but a more seamless text display would enhance the experience. Great effort overall!

Also try our game! thx in advance

Nice Game.

Well I would have loved if there was a way to make the dialogue faster. For example pressing E would make the current sentence complete instantly. After all not everyone reads at the same pace and it gets really annoying to constantly wait for each new word.

Developer

yeah that update is queued up and ready for when the voting period is over I didnt think about that while coding but the fix will be out when I can push new updates

wish there was more accompaniment with the story, either visually or gameplay-wise

Nice submission

This game is a true standout! The innovative features and captivating gameplay make it incredibly enjoyable. It's clear that a lot of care and creativity went into this project.

It was a little bit short but i liked it. Also, the in game music settings doesn't work but not a big deal.

Thanks for the heads up will have that fixed first patch  after the jam is over

An interesting story. I'd definitely prefer less filler and a way to see the full text without having to wait it scroll out. It is pretty interesting.
