In what way does your game fit the theme?
You are the captain of an alien spaceship and your crew has been kidnapped, by saving them you become stroger as a team through their abilities as well as gaining extra health, the crew together is stronger than a captain alone
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code myself and drew the sprites with a couple of friends and also the story boards were also made from scratch by tranquilCloud, for the tiles music and sounds we used CC0 assets from opengameart and free assets from the unity store.
*NOTE*
If you are confused about the controls there are instructions in the game page, we didn't have time to add an actual tutorial.

It is a interesting way to unlock friends to get new unique abilities. Graphic is nice. Characters are cute. You got a nice BGM fits the game vibe. The control is a bit weird tho. Maybe make use of other keys, like "F", "R", "Q", "E", something near the movement keys would be helpful. It is too inconvenient to press like 3 keys at the same time to make a move. Other than that, well done!
Yeah the controls were gonna be temporal but stayed until the end, the new control scheme that I might implement is gonna be "left mouse" to shoot, "right mouse" for hammer, the big jump is gonna change for a double jump then "shift" for dash and "F" for gliding. I think this sounds good enough at least on paper we'll see in practice. Thank you for the feedback
I'm still have a little concern. Since no need to aim with mouse position, is that necessary to use mouse?
Since most games that are played with WASD also use the mouse, the controls are to keep the hands in the same position as it would be in any other game, but as i said thats how it's on paper right now, I will try to look up examples and maybe even add an option to customize the keybindings if necesary.
Really love the combination of the special abilities each crewmate has. It gave me a dynamic feeling and keep me away from the boredom that I found in many games. The only problem I would say is about the camera. Sometimes my crewmates went off the screen, and I had to restart the game. But I still had a lot of fun, good work!
Nice platformer game, simple graphics, great audio. It fit the theme pretty well and also fun :D
I didn't like that camera is not so smooth and sometimes I can't see myself, and also I got lost a few times with no idea where to go.
There are also some small bugs but other than that it's a great game for 7 days game jam, good job :)
Very interesting game, nice concept and sound is very good. For my likings, art is not that good, especially tilesets, yet still I had a lot of fun playing it. Nice idea of saving crew from aliens, it fits the theme pretty nice. I found a bug where I can go inside the ground. Idk how I done that, only thing I know is that at random point in the game I just fell trough the ground and got stuck inside it. Also pink guys powerup doesn't work :/ . Still, for a gamejam it is great game.
Thank you for the feedback, I'll check the collisions and see what can be happening, the controls are a bit weird I know and the addition of a tutorial would be have been nice but time was not on our side here, to use the pink guy ability you need to press shift and the mouse wheel or the "C" while in the air.
Nice nice nice ! The game is fun and engaging, but a few things could be perfected to take it to the next level in my opinion.
- The multiple checkpoints were pretty useful, but some of the controls could be a bit more forgiving. For example, adding a short time where you could still jump if you fall off a platform would make things smoother. I also had a tough time getting through the spikes after rescuing the blue member because it felt almost pixel perfect to go through the gap in the wall.
- The boss is challenging in a good way. However, everytime he screamed after getting a few hits, he pushed me in the spikes and made me loose a heart on my way back to the start. I'm not sure if this was intended but it was pretty harsh to be cautious of my health to be sure to go through the fight even if i didn't take much hits. The trigger for the start of the fight should be bigger because when i first entered the room i immediatly climbed all the way up and was greeted by an inactive and unvulnerable boss waiting for me to go back to the center of the floor.
- The art assets are good but some of them don't feel like they are part of the same art style, thus making some objects look out of place.
Again, i'm being picky but i enjoyed the game ! Good work !
Thank you for the feedback, most of the stuff you mentioned it's already being worked on like the boss area needs a few changes, the pushing you into the spikes I thought it was a good idea in paper but then I didn't have that much time to actually test it, the same goes with the blue guy area after actually testing it again it is obvious that difficulty spike is too high there so it's gonna go under a few revisions to see how to make it better. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for the feedback.
Nice game. It was fun to move around when I had more powers. Checkpoint were forgiving. Only thing that I miss is some text about the controls, but I like how when you get new character, there is small tutorial area to teach new mechanic.
That was good fun! - the music and art style worked nicely together to create a good atmosphere. Yes, the art was a tad inconsistent in a few places, but in no way did it detract from the overall experience. The controls are, I think, the only real downside to this. They're a little too complicated, and pressing shift, A/D and space all at the same time for the green guy makes it quite fiddly (admittedly this wasn't helped by my slightly odd left shift key). Other than that, this is a solid submission, and was a lot of fun to play! :D
Very nice, I really like the way you used the theme, the crews abilities were very interesting and well implemented, you made it feel nice. One thing that would be nice is the ability to shoot where you are aiming so that you can shoot the flying creatures more easily. Also some sort of indication to show when they are hit. I liked the level design, you made it satisfying to platform around using the different abilities. But make sure you remember that players like me are dumb and get lost so maybe try and make it more linear or more obvious where the player has to go :) Also I guess that some of the art assets were taken from different sources because they didn't look very consistent so it was sometimes a little difficult to tell what something was. Not a criticism, just suggestions. I really enjoyed it and thought it was very clever!
Thank you for the feedback, my intention with the map was for the players to get lost a little bit so they were forced to explore, the original idea was to make it more metroidvania style with a minimap and everything sadly this last part wasnt implemented in time.
For the enemies I agree a hit effect would be nice but for now they produce a sound when getting hit which I think works the same way but maybe something could be done with the audio setting so it feels stronger.
The game is fun in principle and the design and the aesthetics are nice. But even though I checked your description about the controls it is a bit weird to control. And some animations feel a little under polished. Just 1-2 frames missing. The game is fun to play because the music is good and the player feels fluid. I have some constructive points :
I enjoyed it when I got it right. But the controls weren't intuitive.
I agree that the controls are weird they were gonna be a temporal thing that ended up staying until the end and some particles and effects would have been nice also we overplanned for the game so the abilities were gonna have more uses and combinations in the final area of the game that got cut out, Thank you for leaving the feedback it's really appreciated we'll be working on trying to fix and prepare the game for a definitive version after the jam.
I overplanned for my game too. It's not a problem. These things happen in a jam. Mine has a game-breaking bug. Good luck with the definitive version. I hope my feedback will be useful to you.
skater boi <3
Good abilities for each of the characters. As well as a unique take on the theme. I wish that the abilities could be used without holding shift however, maybe the super jump could just replace the normal jump, the dash could be double tapping the left or right key, etc. Solid sound track, made it seem more like a world and not just a game.
Really good idea. The thing i think would be nice to tinker with is the camera movement; it feels a bit too stiff. Also the tiles for the background tilemap seem to be a bit disconnected since moving the player causes a visual glitch the tiles seem to not be next to each other.
Yeah it was my first time using a tilemap I tried to make it not that noticable but I just didn't really know what i was doing, Thank you for the feedback.
Very cool. I like that you put health stations around to make it a little easier. The platforming could use some more work (holding jump will make you re-jump over and over), but overall great job!
Agreed that style of jumping was what I wanted to archive but couldn't be done in time sadly, next time for sure i'll make it work, Thank you for the feedback.
Its a nice idea! I liked the illustrations to narrate what was happening, nice detail :)
Wow this is a great submission. I liked this platformer and I mostly liked the music and sound design. It was an interesting adventure platformer and I loved it. At first I was confused on what you really have to do. It was a great game. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed it, the innitial idea was to have a minimap with the locations of the crew so you wouldn't be lost but sadly there was no time for it, already planned to work on it after the jam.
Wow, that's a Superb game ... There is some room for improvement like the control part needs to be improved . But , Overall I loved the graphics and the idea ... Well done .
Good game, game felt a little bit bare bones along with the graphics, I like the UI and opening sequence. Good game overall for a game jam, i do like it! I wish you could aim your gun in any direction using the mouse
Good work :)

Good stuff. I liked the graphics for the player, I thought that was very well-done.
Rated! Fun little game! I like how the animations work!
Here is my game if you don't mind rating, a game about a kid and a dog! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/928969
