pretty hard, but cool mustache ;p

Developer

Hi brandtware! The moustache seems to have been a good choice as most seem to enjoy it! I had fun with The Last Bookstand 😄

Submitted(+2)

great game! really hard tho, best I managed so far was night 2. It's a lot of fun I'll definitely try to reach a higher level.

Developer

Hi saschalois thanks for playing! I'm a big fan of your awesome Hell's Last Stand 😈

Submitted(+1)

You guys did an amazing job with this game, it's impressive the fact that you have made it in just 10 days.
The game it is really really really challenging, doable but very challenging.
I wish it were a little easier or had the option to choose different difficulty levels, but I feel like I'm asking way too much here, after all you can't make a complete game in just 10 days XD

The art style is great!
This style makes the game easy to read and recognizable which adds a lot to the game personality and it's branding.
I loved it!
My max score was 137, I'll come back sometimes in the near future trying to beat my best score XD

Good job!

Developer

Hi core811! Happy to see you made it onto our page because after playing and enjoying Frenchie Defender - Cosmic Paws I knew you would be a fan of some fast paced action 😄

Really neat idea and execution! I wish I was better at it.

I thought I had a good strategy, put all the turrets on the left and hold my position on the right, always repairing the closest window. It sort of worked sometimes, but not well enough to keep me alive for long. I'm sure winning at blackjack is the key to success, but I'm always in such a panic mode during the building period that I barely manage to get the turrets in place.

I like the art, everything is stylish but clear. The music is appropriately tense.

Also I appreciate that I'm playing as "the shakiest gun in the West" since it gives me an excuse for being a bad shot!

The only thing I'd note is that I'd like to be able to reload manually. I know I can just fire off a shot wildly to empty the chamber and trigger auto-reloading. That's probably a better strategy since there's a chance it'll hit some vamp as it wanders in, but I couldn't get into that headspace and, instead, I pushing R as if it was going to do something. :)

[Edit] I forgot to mention the scoreboard! A great inclusion, I did nearly as well as a Taco!

Developer(+2)

Hey Satinel thanks so much for playing and giving such well thought out feedback! I think manual reload is an excellent idea as many others have expressed to me that this would be great to have. That is an excellent score that you were able to achieve 👍 After the voting period ends, my brothers and I plan to refine our game but to make it fair to all the players who have put in the blood sweat and tears during this initial phase where the game is quite punishing we plan to take a snapshot of the top 10 and keep that in the game as a "Hall of Fame" I wouldn't be too surprised if your score makes it in! 😜
Great job on Last Fantasy: The Final Stand, that's been one of my favs to play :D

I just played it, it was a stressing and fun game! I loved all the art and the gameplay, Great work!

Developer

hey abdo97z thanks for playing! Glad we could get your heart rate up a bit but maybe it’s time to play some cozy game submissions!😉

Submitted

That's a blast!

I had a lot of fun playing your game. I like the style and how challenging it is.
Leaderboard will make me come back to try survive longer.

Keep up the good job!

Developer

Hey Patryk good to see you on our page! I’m glad you enjoyed our game! After playing you can probably see why I enjoyed playing The Last Color as we are cut from the same cloth in terms of liking a good challenge 😃

Submitted

Love the visuals, was initially pretty challenging but was fun to play

Developer(+1)

Hey supaskybikelamp! Appreciate the kind words. Great to see you over here on our game :D Affordable Soldier was an excellent entry that I enjoyed yesterday!

Submitted

Very nice! The first time I played I didn't realise turrets could be bought so I just held down the fort with my gun.

The turrets are quite helpfull, although I never found out what the non-bullet ones did.

The art is quite polished, it looks good!

Good job to you and the bois.

Developer

Hey thanks Mucusinator! The second type of turret fires slower but when it hits it kind of explodes and does damage in like a wave AoE. I feel bad you didn't get to experience our second type of turret because I was able to experience all the ships in your game and they were quite awesome!

Submitted(+1)

Ooooo, very nice I can imagine that AOE dealing some heavy damage. I guess I'll just have to give it another shot then!

Developer(+1)

Woah Mucus a 525!!! That's incredible! I didn't even think that would be possible! I put the mythical top score of 500 by Gfro in the game as a bit of a joke (since Gfro is our real life friend that we based the character off of) Congratulations on topping the leaderboard!

Submitted

Amazing art, fun gameplay, and I love the sound effect when the character dies lol

Developer(+1)

Hi Lide Master! Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad you had fun! 😃

Submitted

Great game!  Great feel, atomsphere, on theme... will play again.

The timing between phases is so tight if you take the time to gamble.  Hit blackjack once but then only had time to buy one turret anyway. I did have some difficulty figuring out the turrets the first few plays, but I hadn't read the instructions.

Developer

Hi Italocus! Thanks for stopping by and playing! I enjoyed Global Patriots! Great work to you and your family!

I really liked the addictive and challenging gameplay which kept me playing for a better run. (currently I'm in top 3 :) ) Art style is quite pleasant. Last but not least, implementation of a leaderboard in a jam game is admirable. Great job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Wow I just saw your score! That is impressive work! If you have any tips on how you are approaching the game please feel free to share them I would love to hear!
Edit: Just came back from playing some Last Stand on the Left! Really cool game with great ambience and mood!

Submitted(+1)

Thanks! Sure, here are my two cents :) After several tries to understand the mechanics, I reached the conclusion that repairing the most damaged door while waiting for reloading and then using the bullets on the enemies which are forcing the current most damaged door was an effective strategy. Also, I placed the towers close to the doors which I plan to repair last.  By the way, relatively weak “towers” is a good design choice to avoid the age-old pitfall of decreasing difficulty curve (which can eventually take away the challenge) through the gameplay. For the mini card game, it is a cool touch in the wild west concept but I've never understood any game involving cards, so i am not the most reliable player to evaluate that :D

Nice shooter. Quite hard! Love the visual assets! Congrats!

Hi Akaki Akakievitch! I was hoping that you would find your way over to our game, thanks for playing! I got some great enjoyment out of Sylvania: Last Stand so I was hoping you would like ours as well 😀

Thank you for your kind words!

Really nice game! We love the mechanics and the art style is awesome. The main character is super cool. Nice Job!

Developer

Oh wow! After having just played Arrow, the fact that you both like our art is humbling and greatly appreciated. I'm really glad you found our game!

Submitted

Really nice game with amazing pixel art! Very well rounded and felt fair too

Developer

Hey Odyssey Frontiers! I just got done beating The Last Pin. Very fun! Left you a review and rating over on your submission page :D
Thanks for playing our game!

Submitted

That was a tough and claustrophobic game, in a good way :) It was cool to get upgrades between waves and felt pretty frantic keeping up with everything. I like the art design too. very cool little characters.

Developer

Thanks for playing porkrind :D You have a really cool game going in The Last Expedition, I was impressed with how well you nailed the underwater feeling and environment. 👍

Submitted(+1)

This was a really interesting game. I loved the art style! The gameplay reminded me of a 2D CoD Zombies, I had a load of fun playing it! The only issue I had was that I couldn't figure out how to activate fullscreen until I read another comment on here, I didn't see the box for it either. However, the game ran perfectly without being in fullscreen so it didn't impact the gameplay.

I definitely see myself coming back to this game when I have some time to pass between tasks. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing Lazarus! I had a lot of fun enjoying you and Purp's game and shooting some zombies with lemonades that must be as sour as the sweetness of your Jim puns :D

Thank you for the feedback regarding the difficulty in navigating the UI options and that has been a recurring difficulty for players. We will look to improve the entire UI post jam.

Submitted (1 edit)

I liked it a lot, the mechanic, the windows and being able to repair them, as well as the progressing difficulty and shop. Overall really nice great on this game! Love the western idea and story as well - very nice!

Developer

Hi Skykone! Thanks for playing and commenting :D I liked your carnival theme!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game, really nice art and the mechanics reminded me of call of duty black ops but more intense xD

Developer

We were heavily inspired by the zombie mode in Call of Duty so the fact you got that vibe is probably one the biggest compliments we could get!

Thanks for playing and I really enjoyed you and Lazarus's submission providing me the opportunity to ally with the Grim Reaper :D

Submitted(+1)

I like the visuals of the game! Gameplay was fun, reloading mechanics was well implemented to prevent spam-shooting. Repairing walls added a layer of hecticness to the game.

Feedback would mainly be on UI. Had trouble finding the checkbox for the "fullscreen" option (grey default checkbox on the background made it hard to see, plus it was oddly aligned). Might need a larger poll on this, but i felt that a tickingdown healthbar for walls would be more intuitive than the current tick-up damage indicator. A visual indicator of "in_reload" and "reload_complete" would be a nice QOL too (understand that there's already a bouncing effect at full magazine)

Solid entry overall!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback busride! Your suggestions for improvements to the UI make a lot of sense and our team will look to improve those post jam. I also like your idea for the ticking down to represent damage as the walls and doors are being "torn down" by the vamps. Appreciate you taking the time to play our game and I will play Siege of Rozvir and am excited to check our your submission.

Played this game multiple times now, didn't rate it the first time because it was the last game I played after playing and rating a handful of others. Wanted to come back to it with a fresh (less tired) head. Got to say I love what your small team has managed to create in the space of 10 days. It's well designed, looks and plays nice and pretty well polished.

I find it difficult but not in a way that's impossible. In a way that makes me want to play again because I feel like I can do better. I like running from window to window trying to repair it before anything can get in. Next thing I know I'm waiting to reload frantically running around being chased by the one or two that snuck in when I wasn't looking. Then day breaks and I think "thank f..."

Repair what I can and see if I have enough doubloons to scrape together a turret or two to make my life a little bit easier. Pretty solid game loop that keeps you on your toes every step of the way. This has been one of my favourites so far. Well done!

Hi Alex! Thanks so much for making it over to our page and playing. It’s very rewarding to hear you describe your gameplay experience with our game as many of the feelings you were describing were what we hoped players might feel!

For any others reading this comment please go check out Alex’s game One Last Siege! It’s got an addicting and intense gameplay loop of defending against waves and has some fun resource balancing ☺️

Submitted(+1)

Not a problem, I’ve been trying to play as many submissions as I can. Glad to hear that, you’ve done an excellent job then! And thanks for shouting out my game too, much appreciated 😁
